Coordinate efforts on campus so that all teacher preparation programs are of sufficiently high quality to be eligible for Kansas State Department of Education program review approval and accreditation Provide opportunities through which candidates can develop the qualities identified in the Bethany College model of a liberally educated person. Provide early experiences in elementary and secondary classrooms for those considering teaching. Identify candidates with professional promise and encourage them to enter the teaching profession. Enable candidates who select teaching majors to develop the competencies and qualities associated with the Bethany College Exceptional Teacher Model. Provide effective guidance services related to candidates’ academic goals and social concerns. Recommend for licensure those who have completed an approved program and meet all requirements for licensure.
NOTE: All approved programs leading to licensure are subject to change. Consequently, although a candidate completes coursework listed for any of the teaching majors and endorsements in the catalog that was in effect when they entered Bethany, it is imperative that candidates check with the Education Department often to ensure that they complete the coursework required for their approved program.
