TUTORIAL #:11
CASE STUDY BUILDING NAME: 1
TITLE BLOCK
List the types of information found in the title block on the floor plan page.
- Is there a grid? What system is used for identifying the grid lines?
- Project management -Engineers’ name -Project name -Client - Drawing Title
- Why is some information found in General Notes?
-Scale -
Dimensions and all those details where the operators should notice.
Why might this information be important?
- What is the purpose of the legend?
Those information can clearly tell the viewer what this folder about.

DRAWING CONTENT - PLANS
- What type of information is shown in this floor plan? -General rang
- Why are some parts of the drawing annotated? Illustrate how the annotations are associated with the relevant part of the drawing. Joinery to be set out to align with from wall corner.
- Grid
-Indicator -Dimensions -Material
- Illustrate how the locations of sections are identified on the plan. What do these symbols mean?
-Details (Doors, windows) -Arrangement of using in the building. - Provide an example of the dimensions as they appear on this floor plan? What units are used for the dimensions? (unit:mm) Those two parallel symbols show the grid and boundary of the sections.
- Illustrate how references to other drawings are shown on the plan. What do these symbols mean?
3
DRAWING CONTENT – ELEVATIONS
- What type of information is shown in this elevation? How does it differ from the information shown on the plan? -Door Places -Dimension -Electronic screen -Electricity setting
Can be found in the certain page. - How are windows and doors identified? Provide and example of each. Is there a rationale to their numbering? What do these numbers mean? Can you find the answer somewhere in the drawings? Door number Details building reference
- Are dimensions shown? If so, how do they differ from the dimensions on the plan? Provide an example of the dimensions as they relate to the elevation. Nope - What types of levels are shown on the elevations? Illustrate how levels are shown in relation to the elevation. -Finished Floor
Window number Detail reference
- Illustrate how floor levels are noted on the plan?
-Level
- Is there a grid? If so, how / where is it shown?
- Are some areas of the drawing clouded? Why?
Only the vertical grid Where the place is changed. This can be seen from the timeline on the right top side.
- Is there a legend? What does it identify and how is it used? Yes Symbol Meaning

DRAWING CONTENT – SECTIONS
- What type of information is shown in this section? How does it differ from the information shown on the plan and elevation? -More details -Ceiling level
- What types of information on the elevations are expressed using words? Illustrate how this is done.
-Structure of beam
Material
- Illustrate how the doors and windows are identified on the elevations. Door number
- Are dimensions shown? If so, how do they differ from the dimensions on the elevation? No dimensions
Details building reference
Window number Detail reference
- Are any parts of the elevation clouded? Why?
Nope
- What types of information on the sections are expressed using words? Illustrate how this is done.
Material
- Illustrate where this elevation is located in relation to the plan? From grid, we can know that.
5 - Illustrate how the section drawing differentiates between building elements that are cut through and those that are shown in elevation (beyond). Two dimension VS three dimension
DRAWING CONTENT – DETAILS
- What sorts of things are detailed? -Doors -Windows -Stairs -Materials -How it constructed - Are the details compressed using break lines? Why?
Nope - Provide examples of how different materials are shown on the sections. -Zincalume Steel box gutter -Steel PFC
- Provide examples of how different materials are shown on drawings at this scale.
