Form Study - Bridging project leader: Péter Pozsár

The assignment was to create a 1m long selfsupporting bridging between two points. The pieces of the structure are to fit in a 9x9 cm cube. The pieces shall not be connected by glue, other materials were free to use.

I aimed to create the lightest triangular linear structure possible. I’ve connected the wooden pieces with wire so they form triangles and tetrahedra. Through the linear stacking of regular tetrahedra I’ve created a light structure called a “Boerdijk–Coxeter” helix.

Ladder project leaders: György Kosaras, Nándor Nagy, Tamás Máté

The project was to create an object that one can climb until shoulder hight. The end result of my functional analisys was basicaly a normal ladder. I designed the details using only wood. It was an important factor to make this “tool of climbing” easily transportable and storeable.

Bathhouse project leaders: Csaba KovĂĄcs, Ă ron Vass-Eysen

The 19th century bathouse was refecting the functional needs of the current bathing culture. I aimed to reinvent it in order to compiment todays Balaton beach culture.

My building provides a spa excerience on open water. The bathhouse is a passive sauna, its operation is based on the greenhouse effect.

Infra rays heat up the UV-resistant polycarbonate box. Then the ventilation is provided by the window-like vents and the entrance door. The basin is encosing water from the lake, providing humidity.

Buda Castle Flat project leaders: Nagy TamĂĄs, FĂźlĂśp Kriszta

The 82 m2 flat is sutiated in Budapest, Buda Castle Disctrict, firts floor of a neobaroque building. The imaginary client is an investor who is planning to rent out the apartment. The potential tenant is a businessperson working temporarily in Budapest. It follows that he or she is going to use this pace for mainy spending free time. The main aspect of designing the floor plan was the availability of natural light. The living room, the central space, is closed in by the more intimate functions.

The bedroom is separated by a translucent glass sliding wall. The sun shines in in the morning, due to the north-east facing windows. I separated the dry and a wet sections of the bathroom with a glass panel. The toilet is placed outside of the bathroom, leaving more room for the relaxation/leisure element of the space. The kitchen is placed in a built in cupboard so it can he hidden most of the time.

Living Room project leaders: Nagy TamĂĄs, FĂźlĂśp Kriszta

The potential tenant is a cuple living in both Paris and Budapest. The woman collects artwork and objects, the man likes orderlyness and minimal spaces.

The more intinamet spaces are separated by a translucent glass sliding wall. The sun shines in in the morning, due to the north-east facing windows.

The main aspect of designing the floor plan was the availability of natural light. The living room, the central space, is closed in by the more intimate functions.

Shelfs facilitate storage for the little colorful objects. The kitchen cabinets are built in, and the counter is hidden behind folding doors.

Ötpacsirta Street Pavilion project leaders: Tamás Bene, Dániel Baló participants: Ábel Laki, Alves Ana Catherina, Ashhab Areej, Budai Csaba, Bianka Bús , Domokos Kázmér, Dorka Kéry, Farkas Sára, Kaderják Eszter, Király Csenge Jolán, Kubinyi Hanna, Ribeiro Brás Joäo Pedro, Sára Pintér, Sebestyén Noémi Éva, Vasadi Viktória

We designed this pavilion during the university cousre “The Month of Architecture”.It is situated in the courtyard of HQ of Association of Hungarian Architects (MÉSZ).

Our design is to keep the space undivided, providing protection against rain. The roof surfaces sloping down gather the water to a preexisting drain in the center of the courtyard. With this gesture we aimed to highlight the already existing focal point. All the columns are aligned on the circular pattern of the cobblestones. The structure is covered by a opaque PVC foil, keeping the space bright.

Usually the people who need governmental help the most, have the hardest time getting it. They either don’t have the administrative know-how or the time for research. Our vision is to provide an easy access to governmental social support while leaving the complex research behind. We give you guidance on all opportunities in the confusing chaos of the internet in a simple, friendly and engaging way. We want to be your stable point in every living situation.

The Painter’s Home project leaders: Tamás Nagy, Kriszta Fülöp

The romantic town of Zebegény is situated at the bend of the Danube on a hill. Most of the town, including this plot have a picturecque view. The most important aspect of my design is the connection and relationship to the surrounding nature. The imaginary client was a painter, his art critique wife, their eight year old daughter and 12 year old son. I designed communal sapces to be intesely connected while still having some more introverted parts. The gallery overlooking the living room is a place to look at the living room, the garden and the view.

The building is approachable from north and west, cars arrive from the north. Though the main entrance is near the walkway, there are several doors opening directry to the terraces and the garden.

The red brick facade is complimenting the sourrounding green nature, creating visual harmony. Due to the sloping terrain even “first floor rooms have direct access to the garden.

Indoor-Open Housing project leaders: Tamás Nagy, Kriszta Fülöp

During this housing project I’ve aimed to create an experience of open space and garden for every tenant. There are two types of flats. The Northern one gets East and West sunshine, and the South one is surrounded by variations of direct sunshine from the East, West and South side as well. Metal shaded facade system profects the building and also facilitates a versatile, changing look during the day and the seasons. The L-shape of the building forms the garden into three parts, one leading up to the front of the house, a central more quiet sun-garden and a lushous green backyard.

Both apartment variations have a strong focus on the commonunal areas. The kitchenlivingroom spaces have sliding glass walls facilitate an indoor-open situation in the heart of the apartment. Loggias and facade system protect from the harmful rays of and also supporting privacy.

The only common-use areas of the housing estate are the spacious stairs and the garage. The stairway, given the glass facade and the shade system, is very much suitable for growing house aplants all-year-round.

Kazinczy Street 55 project leaders: Csaba Kovács, Gergő Barcza

The VII. district of Budapest, InnerErzsébetváros is a functionally diverse, very lively neighborhood. Only there aren’t so many local tenants anymore. This area became the party center of Budapest in the early 2000s. Riun pubs and nightclubs create most of the district’s revenue. In my procejt my goals was to create an urban hybrid that enables the different operators and organisations to function next to each other and by doing so contribute to the quality of public space sthat are free for all.

The green to concrete ratio is really worrysome in the neighborhood, therefore my project is focusing on creating the most publicly accessible greenery possible.

The placement of the buildings continues the excisting structure of the city. It plain simpe but logical. It is Optimised to facilitate the functions and give the most of the space to the public

Functional diversity cotributes to the safety maintenance and sustainability of urban public spaces. (Jacobs, Jane 1961)

There are three types of plats in the hosing complex. Each are enlcosed by the opaque glass facade. This makes the interir feel bigger and more spacious. The bigger apartments are 65 and 63 m2, the built-in storage and compact functional blocks facilitate aa compact urban lifestyle.
