n the landmark occasion of the 65 years anniversary of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) establishment, on behalf of Wells Fargo Bank N.A., we would like to send our heartiest congratulations to BIDV, the Board of Directors, the board of management and all staffs of the bank. Wells Fargo Bank N.A. has its presence through its representative office in Vietnam since 2003, but our relationship with BIDV has started much earlier, in 1996. Looking back the 26 years, we are proud to have BIDV as one of our most important and key partners in Vietnam. Our two banks have been closely co-operating in various areas, including international payments, international trade, trade finance, liquidity management, foreign exchange that benefit BIDV’s customers with high service quality and extensive support across time zones. Over the last 26 years of relationship, it is our privilege to witness BIDV’s growth in becoming one of the regional banks with strong foot hold in Indochina region servicing its clients with modern technology and international standard services, supporting Vietnamese corporate and individual clients doing business in these countries. We are happy to see major milestones of the bank. In our view, BIDV is amongst the few pioneers that lead the curve in transformation in terms of re-organization, transparency improvements, client segment diversification, efficiency focus and innovations. BIDV leaders identified early the importance of the growing private sector and made decision to diverse client focus to Retail and SME, which we view as a strategic decision for future development. BIDV also had early interest in mobile distribution channels and requested WFB for experience sharing. Now, with strong mobile banking infrastructure, BIDV continues to capture market share, grow fee revenue and provide un-disrupted services to clients during the pandemic. We believe that such success stories and achievements are result of committed focus, vision, values and efforts of BIDV management team and all staff members of the bank.
