BISHOP MIEGE
Bishop Miege
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking a look at Bishop Miege! If you don’t mind, I want to ask you a couple of questions. First, what is it that you hope for your child’s high school experience? When they graduate, what kind of young man/woman do you envision them becoming?
I ask because as a father of five, I many times have reflected on these questions. My wife and I are continually trying to provide our children with opportunities to grow and become who God has called them to be. We invest in their education now so when they are grown they are ready to succeed in the world and make it better. We have learned that a great high school experience definitely makes a difference.
Know that Bishop Miege is a place where your child can have that “great experience.” As you look through these pages, picture your son or daughter in them. Know that if they come to Bishop Miege, they will BELONG. It is one of the special things about this school. Your child will be accepted as a part of the Miege family. They will be given opportunities to grow. They will encounter a diverse school culture that encourages them to help others, pushes them to excel, and offers experiences where they can grow in faith.
St. Catherine of Sienna said “become who God meant for you to be and you will set the world on fire.” Don’t we want that for our children? I certainly do. Well, know that we are committed to helping them on that journey. Please consider closely how we at Bishop Miege can work with you in helping your child be who they were meant to be. Feel free to reach out to me or our staff if we can assist you in this important decision.
Let’s set the world on fire.
God bless,
Phil Baniewicz Incoming President

• Rigorous comprehensive Catholic High School Curriculum
• Project Based Learning that allows students to create solutions to real world challenges
• Dual Credit and Applied Learning courses

Bishop Miege Community System
HERD & FAITH FAMILY
PURPOSE: The overall purpose is that every student belongs from the moment they enter Miege. They are immediately a part of their Herd and their Faith Family, giving them a unique connection with Christ, their fellow Herd members, Faith Family members, and the faculty mentors that lead the Faith Families. Each student has at least four significant adults in their school life, and they have the ability to create bonds amongst all grade levels. Herds also enable students to embrace their potential for leadership by increasing the opportunities to be a part of the Herd Council and other contributions to the Bishop Miege community.
STRUCTURE: The Herd is an all encompassing system for the pastoral care of every student at Miege. This community structure supports Stag leadership by enhancing the Ursuline principles that Miege is founded on. Student life, faith development, academics, service, student council, and school spirit are all integral aspects of the Herds.
Faith Family
Four Faith Families constitute a Herd. The names of the Herds honor notable Miege faculty members that have helped to build the supportive culture our school enjoys today.
Herd Council System
Student leadership is incorporated into the community system. Each Faith Family selects one senior captain. Each Faith Family also selects an underclassman to serve as deputy to assist the captain.
Executive Council
In the Spring each Herd votes on an Executive Captain for the following school year. These eight Executive Captains lead the Herd Council, which advises administration on student issues and oversees student community building activities within our school.
THREE CORE VALUES
- FAITHGrowing a relationship with Jesus Christ
- COMMUNITYFinding Christ in one another
- SERVICEServing Christ by serving others
To meet these core values, each student is placed in a multi-grade Faith Family with students from each grade level. A member of the faculty will serve as a Faith Family Mentor for the student’s entire tenure at Bishop Miege High School.
A Miege legend, color, symbols, and motto make up a Herd Crest creating each Herd identity. Students wear Herd shirts for various Faith Family activities throughout the year.

Bishop Miege has created a strong academic foundation for me. Physics class has brought me a better understanding of Math and Science all at the same time. Miege encourages you to push harder in every aspect of your life.
After experiencing the Aerospace, Engineering, and Physics classes. I know I am prepared for college, but I also found out what and who I want to be when I get older.

I love that Miege offers a variety of classes & programs that are basically at your disposal like the Innovation Center, Project Lead the Way and the Bio-Med Classes. These are available for you to try something new & challenge yourself.
There is no place like Miege. The community and camaraderie found within the school not only unites the student body as a family but a family under God the Father.
