SKIESUnlimited is looking for those who have experience in teaching activities to youth between the ages of one to 18 years of age. To become a SKIES program instructor, you must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years of age, submit to a background check, have certifications or degree in the activity or years of experience teaching in that activity. If you have experience in an activity, but do not have certification, you may be able to get certifications from organizations such as USA Gymnastics or USA Swim, Red Cross, or National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS). Interested adults can apply online to become an instructor for gymnastics at USAJobs.com. Submit both your résumé, transcripts and answer the required questions. Interested in instructing other programs other than gymnastics? You may also submit a proposal or Statement of Work and résumé to become a contractor through SKIESUnlimited, call SKIES to find out more. As a contractor you are self-employed, must carry professional liability insurance, go through background checks and complete the contracting process. In addition, all instructors are required to complete Army and Child and Youth services annual trainings. Fort Bliss SKIES is actively looking for instructors.
