Dear Premier Club Members, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! November is always a magical month at the Resort & Club, and this year will be no exception. Of course, the main event of the month is Thanksgiving, and we’ll once again reprise our cherished weekend traditions. Thanksgiving Day itself will center around the magnificent Grand Buffet, along with a myriad of other Thanksgiving menu options at our fine restaurants. On the day following Thanksgiving, we’ll bring you the annual Christmas tree lighting festivities, including a parade of characters and plenty of photo ops with Santa Claus. This year, we’ve invited the cabaret trio, American Sirens, to perform at the event; their vintage, glamorous vocals are sure to fill us all with the holiday spirit. We’re also bringing back Thanksgiving Wellness Weekend! Last year’s version was very well received, so we decided to expand upon it with some first-ever programs. Here’s a sampling of what Members can look forward to: • The return of favorite Artists in Residence KarmaVibes, Gravity + Oxygen and Paddle Diva. In addition to paddle boarding, Paddle Diva will offer a floating aqua mat session in the Spa Garden. • New wellness pop-ups and Artists in Residence classes to include Sunrise Sip & Spin featuring — Raw JUCE, held on the 501 Patio overlooking the golf course, and Pound, a full-body workout using Ripstix®, lightly-weighted drumsticks specifically engineered for exercise. • We are once again partnering with Orangetheory Fitness as the official host hotel for their annual half marathon and 5K race! As before, proceeds will benefit the Police Athletic League, so please consider lending your support to this wonderful cause. I hope you are as eager as I am for the return of the Holidays at the Resort & Club. I’m sure many agree there’s no better place to celebrate and create lasting memories with family and friends. This storied and iconic place is imbued with the spirit of many generations of families who have called it home and their Club. Pre-shot routine is very important to be a consistent golfer, whether you are a scratch player, or a weekend warrior. You should never hit a shot without picking a specific target. When you are about to take a shot, stand behind the ball and visualize in your mind an imaginary line from your specific target to the ball. Pick out a specific spot 1 foot in front of the ball (blade of grass, leaf, discoloration), walk to the ball, align your clubface first to the spot you picked out, then your feet perpendicular to the clubface. You should be perfectly aligned! Let it go!
