Dear Premier Club Members, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’m confident that our future has never been brighter and I hope you are as excited about 2019 as I am. For many years, the Club has enjoyed a storied, multi-generational history, and this living legacy will continue to grow. In that spirit, we will continually adapt Club programs to evolving and diverse interests and trends, and have implemented updates to programs, services and amenities that fit Member interests and feedback. The overall Member experience has become more multi-dimensional than ever. So what’s in store for the year ahead? Here are a few things to look forward to: • First and foremost, we are committed to enhancing and broadening our Artists-in-Residence partnerships. Each artist is a top-tier talent in their discipline, whether their specialty is visual artistry, music, fashion, club sports, culinary arts or winemaking. We welcome the return of wine connoisseur Aaron Miller, PGA and LPGA Master Professional Kellie Stenzel, three-time Grand Slam Mixed Doubles champion John Lloyd and an engaging lineup of lively entertainment. • We are particularly excited about recent expansions to our mind-and-body wellness program. New offerings include Orangetheory Fitness Pop-in Residency at the Beach Club and new programs from KarmaVibes yoga expert Mary Ann Morgan-Fried and Paddle Diva Gina Bradley, both driven by Member demand. • Boca Raton is progressing through a rebranding process which will culminate with the city being recognized as one of the most prestigious and enviable destinations in the country. The Resort & Club plays an integral and critical part in the national recognition of Boca Raton, and as such we will expand our participation in the civic and charitable spirit of the community. Our programs will continue to enthusiastically embrace the interests of every Member, whether special food and wine events, fitness and wellness sports, interactive arts programs or lifestyle entertainment. DIRECTIONS

1 lb. Linguine pasta

1. In large sauce pan bring water to a boil. Heavily salt the water. Drop in linguine and begin to cook. Check after five to six minutes. Serve al dente. Strain and reserve pasta water.

1 cup pasta water 1 lb. Parmesan cheese 4 oz. butter

2. Melt butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add in pasta, pasta water and half of the cheese.

60 grams black truffle, cleaned and brushed

3. Toss pasta to coat. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Shave truffle over the top and garnish with more cheese.

SPONDER GALLERY recently installed a new Donald Martiny painting on the south wall of Palm Court. Martiny has just completed two site specific works for the lobby of One World Trade Center, as well as a solo show at the gallery’s main space. His exciting gestural works bridge the gap between painting and sculpture. While the brushstroke motif has been embraced by artists ranging from Roy Lichtenstein to James Nares, Martiny takes a singular approach. Each smear of paint is full of multiple colors, giving the impression that they were created with massive brushes. In actuality, Martiny doesn’t use a paintbrush, he makes these works entirely by hand. To create the highly palpable textures, he mixes polymers and pigments until he reaches a desirable viscosity. Martiny then dries the surface using industrial fans and, finally, affixes the finished work to sheets of aluminum. He once described his artistic practice as “a dance trapped in paint,” and his dynamic works are surely a testament to this active process. Martiny has also described his works as self-portraits, because, in his words, “brushstrokes are very specific to an artist.” Indeed, the impasto lines, swirled streaks, and overwhelmingly tactile quality found along the surfaces of his paintings reflect the artist’s physical movements. KIRA SOLTANOVICH Kira began her comedy career in 1998 after asking her Russian immigrant parents if they would support her dream to become a stand up. After her mother and father confessed “it’s not like you’re smart enough to be a doctor…” Kira took that as their blessing to pursue her dreams and never looked back. She was a series regular on How to Be a Grownup for TruTV, the hidden camera show Girls Behaving Badly and has appeared on The Jay Leno Show, Hello Ross! with Ross Mathews, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Hell’s Kitchen, Last Comic Standing, Set List TV, and The World Stands Up on Comedy Central.

QUINN DAHLE With appearances on the Tonight Show, Showtime, Comedy Central, Lopez Tonight and Carson Dal, Quinn is a smart, clean and witty stand-up comic with impeccable timing. Quinn’s comedy appeals to all age groups and ethnicities and he loves to talk about them all. Being married to a Mexican-American girl from east L.A., he is never short of material. Originally from Minnesota, before settling in Los Angeles, Quinn tours nationally as well as internationally and has entertained our troops as far away as Japan. He has worked with names such as Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Tim Allen, Dane Cook, Dana Carvey, Norm McDonald, Jon Lovitz and Bill Maher.

KIVI ROGERS Turning off his computer was the best decision Kivi Rogers ever made. He hit the comedy circuit in the early ‘90s and has enjoyed the ride ever since. From landing a television development deal with Castle Rock Entertainment to being a featured performer on shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and The Last Comic Standing, Kivi made his big screen debut in 1996 in the cult film “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.” He followed that up with guest starring roles on hit shows to include Everybody Loves Raymond, Dharma and Greg, and The West Wing. While acting is cool, Kivi enjoys nothing more than making audiences howl.

THE NEW YEAR IS HERE. No more excuses! Make this the year you meet your fitness goals with the help of these tips:

1. BE REALISTIC. Make attainable goals that will get you where you want to go. Is 2019 the year you’re going to participate in your first Triathlon? Then set specific short -term goals that will help you move forward. Want to lose weight? Be realistic in the amount you want to lose each month.
