Dear Premier Club Member, The end of March signifies the halfway point in the membership year which will end on September 30. In this period, many initiatives were introduced, all stemming from a list of concerns, issues and priorities brought forth by individual members, the various golf/tennis leagues and more formally through the committees. Albeit unscientific, we amass the information and review where the Resort & Club can improve processes or allocate capital. Not surprising, many of the procedural changes were brought about to make your life easier by offering options. Guests can be called in, texted in or typed in via the mobile site. The special events are booked through a ticketing website providing you with e-confirmations and helpful information. Even dining reservations can be made from your phone. As always, for those who wish to speak to someone, our associates are available to assist on the telephone. The bulk of the 2014 capital improvement dollars focused on the historic Cloister hotel renovation while smaller projects dominated high impact member areas. The health club at the main hotel, the restaurant improvements and the addition of the new FlowRider highlighted this list. We’ll continue to balance and prioritize future improvements with your assistance. With such a diverse membership, it is critical we understand what you want from your valuable time spent at the Resort & Club. Over the next 90 days we’ll e-mail each member household a link to a survey that will assist us in drafting a multi-year plan. With your input, we are not assuming consensus can be gained, but more so an understanding as to what’s important to the membership in totality. All said; it really is March Madness in Boca: Spring Break, Festival of the Arts, Boca Bacchanal, Bruce Springsteen Tribute Night, Couples Game Night and let us not forget, the Holy Holidays in early April. Spring is in the air and there’s no better place to take it all in than Boca.

Tips on Chipping from Kellie Stenzel “With closely mown fairways, chipping – where you keep the ball flight lower and then it runs – is always the better choice, rather than trying to hit it high,” says Kellie Stenzel. “The key is a good setup. Grip low, narrow your stance and allow your weight to be on your forward foot. Once you are set up well, remember to make the same stroke you would make if putting but allow it to brush the grass. This smaller, low maintenance stroke and setup will help you to get the ball up and down more often.” According to Golf Digest, Kellie Stenzel is not only one of the best golf teachers in Florida; she is one of the “50 Greatest Women Teachers.” For information on the Kellie Stenzel Golf Academy at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, please call 447-3939/Option#6.
