Integrity • Justice • Trust • Responsibility The goal of the Boerne Police Foundation is to increase community awareness and support for the Boerne Police Department, and assist those officers who contribute to making Boerne a safe place. “We work hard as an organization to provide support for our local police officers and to bridge any gaps between the City of Boerne’s budget and certain needs the department may have,” said Board President, Rey de la Fuente. There are four core areas in which the organization aims to assist the Boerne Police Department: 1) Training, ongoing education, and professional development 2) Advancement of Community Service Programs
3) Assist with purchases of specialized crime prevention and personal police equipment 4) Provide financial support, as needed, for personal hardship assistance and surviving family members of officers injured or killed in the line of duty Because of generous donors, the Boerne Police Foundation has been able to provide important contributions to the Boerne Police Department. According to de la Fuente, “We have assisted with expenses for continuing education and officer development. Another thing we were able to contribute to was the acquiring, equipping and the training of several K9 specialty units. Our organization has also provided the department with first aid equipment,
