U

na rivista come la nostra nasce per documentare le tendenze della moda e dare idee e suggerimenti in merito a tutto quanto riguarda l’universo bimbo. Però è anche inserita nel suo tempo e non può fare a meno di registrare i mutamenti sociali. Ed è giusto che li indichi al lettore, perché sia le mamme e i papà, sia gli addetti ai lavori, entrambi fruitori del nostro magazine, possano riflettervi e trarre le loro conclusioni. E può capitare che i cambiamenti di costume non incontrino la nostra approvazione: per esempio, negli ultimi tempi abbiamo notato che, sia nelle pubblicità, sia per le strade, le bimbe sono vestite come adulte. Tanto che nelle sfilate cui assistiamo nelle manifestazioni dedicate, spesso sono addirittura truccate, nonostante l’esistenza di una sorta di codice etico che era stato diramato al Pitti Bimbo qualche edizione fa. Ma il dato più stupefacente è che spesso vengono sottoposte a make up anche le bambine che fanno la Comunione o la Cresima! È una constatazione che purtroppo abbiamo fatto personalmente partecipando a cerimonie di figlie e nipoti di amiche. Se anche in occasioni sacre come queste, in cui l’aspetto fisico non dovrebbe assolutamente essere preso in considerazione, si dipingono le piccole innocenti come se dovessero partecipare a uno spettacolo in tv, vuol dire che la “società dell’immagine” ha davvero preso il sopravvento sul buon senso e il decoro.

Bisogna frenare le esagerazioni. E anche noi addetti ai lavori possiamo provare a farlo.

Per esempio, realizzando servizi fotografici in cui i piccoli non si travestano da grandi.

O se lo fanno, che sia in modo palesemente ironico. In questo numero, oltre agli shooting realizzati dai nostri fotografi, alle pagine dedicate alle sfilate italiane e spagnole e alle notizie e reportage dal mondo dell’infanzia, noterete uno spazio sempre maggiore dedicato al design: un argomento inconsueto per una rivista di moda under 12, ma che abbiamo deciso di ampliare sempre più perché è uno dei settori merceologi che interessa particolarmente le nuove generazioni.

Vi auguriamo, quindi, buona lettura, ma soprattutto buone riflessioni!

he purpose of a magazine like this one is to present trends in fashion, ideas and suggestions for everything regarding a child’s world. But it too is a child of our times and cannot avoid recording social changes as well. And it is right that we point them out to our readers whether they are mothers and fathers or fashion professionals, because our magazine is read by both, so that they may come to their own conclusions. And it can happen that some changes don’t meet with our approval.

For example, recently we have noted, both in advertisements and on the street, children are being dressed like adults. To the extent that in the children’s wear fashion shows we attended they were often wearing make-up, despite the existence of an ethical code introduced at Pitti Bimbo several editions ago. But the most astonishing fact is that little girls are often being made up for their first communion or confirmation!

Unfortunately it is something we have experienced directly at the ceremonies of our friends’ daughters and nieces. If even on sacred occasions such as these, in which physical appearance should absolutely not be taken into consideration, these innocent little girls are made up to look as if they are going on a TV show. It really does mean our “image” based society has won over common sense and decorum. Exaggeration needs to be held in check. And we professionals too can try and do something about it.

By doing photographic services for example in which children are not disguised as adults. And if they are, in a glaringly obvious way that it is for fun. In this issue as well as the services by our own photographers, the pages dedicated to the Italian and Spanish shows and the news and reports from the world of the infant, you will notice even more space given to design: an unusual topic for a fashion magazine for the under twelve, but which we have decided to enlarge even further because it is one of the sectors which effects the young generation in particular. We therefore wish you good reading and, above all, plenty to think about!

NEWSCURIOSITY LÚ:LÚ Un “laboratorio olfattivo” nello stand di Pitti Bimbo di uno dei marchi prodotti da Grant spa, dove è stato ricreato un rigoglioso giardino con elementi naturali quali piante e fiori uniti armoniosamente ai capi della collezione. Ospite d’eccezione Filippa Lagerback: la showgirl svedese è stata scelta dalla stilista Paola Montaguti perché da sempre attenta a iniziative ecosostenibili e sostenitrice delle virtù terapeutiche degli olii essenziali. Da sottolineare che quelli utilizzati in questo caso sono purissimi al 100% e sono stati lavorati seguendo le più avanzate tecniche biologiche.

I piccoli visitatori hanno potuto sperimentare i molteplici poteri delle essenze e creare esclusive fragranze racchiuse in flaconi personalizzati.

A “scented garden” stand at Pitti Bimbo, for one of Grant spa’s brands, in which a luxuriant garden was created with real plants and flowers for a display to harmonise with the collection. A special guest was Filippa Lagerback, a Swedish model and presenter who was chosen by the designer Paola Montaguti because she is very keen on protecting the environment and a staunch believer in the therapeutic value of essential oils. It should be said that the ones used here were 100% pure and made following the most advanced bio-technological methods.

The youngest visitors were able to experiment the many powers of the oils and create exclusive fragrances in personalised bottles.

NAP ATELIER Sembra un vestitino, ma è una lampada: è la curiosa proposta per la cameretta dei bambini dell’atelier milanese dall’inconfondibile stile British.

“Wonderland” irradia una luce tenue e dalla tonalità calda, perfetta per un ambiente tenero e romantico. Può essere personalizzata con abitini portati direttamente dal cliente ed è sempre un pezzo unico. La lampada fa parte di una serie di prodotti destinati ai più piccoli e legati al tema del sogno.

It looks like a little girl’s dress but in fact it is a lamp: it is a novel idea for a child’s bedroom by this Milanese atelier with an unmistakable British style.

“Wonderland” gives out a soft, warm and gentle light, perfect for a young child’s room. It can be personalised using a dress brought in directly by the customer and is therefore always a unique item. The lamp is one of a series of objects designed for children and inspired by dreams.

WOOLMARK The Woolmark Company, in collaborazione con la fotografa Anne Geddes, specializzata in ritratti di bambini, ha lanciato una campagna d’educazione indirizzata ai neogenitori e alle donne in gravidanza sulla qualità della lana Merino e i suoi benefici nell’abbigliamento per bambini. Questa fibra mantiene stabili la temperatura e l’idratazione corporea, contrastando gli sbalzi termici e lasciando la pelle asciutta e sana: la sua traspirabilità previene il formarsi di umidità e in questo modo aiuta a conciliare il sonno. Inoltre, la lana Merino è naturalmente elastica, ecosostenibile, sicura, e diviene a ogni stagione sempre più confortevole e morbida, grazie alle più recenti innovazioni messe a punto da Woolmark. Tali caratteristiche rispondono alla richiesta dei consumatori per la salvaguardia della salute e della sicurezza dei bambini.

The Woolmark Company in collaboration with the photographer Anne Geddes, a specialist in child portraiture, has launched a campaign to teach new parents and pregnant women about the qualities of Merino wool and its benefits in children’s clothing. This fibre keeps the body temperature constant and allows the skin to breath, countering sudden changes in temperature and keeping the skin dry and healthy: its breathability prevents the formation of humidity and so helps induce sleep. Also Merino wool is naturally elastic, environmentally friendly and safe and becomes even more comfortable and soft over time, thanks to the latest innovations developed by Woolmark. These features respond to the demands of the consumer for the health and safety of their children.

DISNEY STORE È ispirata a Tinkerbell, ovvero Trilli o Campanellino in italiano, la fatina amica di Peter Pan, la nuovissima fragranza destinata alle teenager e alle loro mamme.

A base di sorbetto al limone e frutta candita, “Pixie Dust” è uno dei cinque profumi, e articoli correlati, di Disney Store dedicati ad altrettanti personaggi dei cartoon. È disponibile come eau de toilette, body mist, crema mani e corpo e bagnoschiuma. Divertente l’anello a forma di fiore che emana il profumo grazie a un gel spalmabile racchiuso al suo interno.

A new fragrance for both teenagers and their mothers inspired by Peter Pan’s friend, the fairy Tinkerbell. With a base of lemon sorbet and candied fruit “Pixie Dust” is one of five perfumes and related products in the Disney Store, each dedicated to a cartoon character.

It is available as an eau de toilette, body mist, and hand or body cream and bath foam. It has an innovative and fun flower shaped ring and internal soft gel for spraying the perfume.

ià a cinque anni Ermanno Scervino aveva la moda nel cuore. Anzi di più. “Era una vera mania”, racconta nel quartier generale dell’azienda, nella meravigliosa campagna che circonda Firenze, mentre dà gli ultimi tocchi alle sue collezioni, uomo, donna e naturalmente anche la Ermanno Scervino Junior che ha iniziato nel 2005 e che gli ha dato mille soddisfazioni. “Quando ero bambino se non mi vedevo come dicevo io erano tragedie! - continua nel racconto scherzoso delle memorie dell’infanzia, quando ancora abitava con i genitori e i fratelli a Milano - Al pomeriggio guardavo la tv e mi ispiravo, naturalmente coi programmi prima di Carosello”. Lo stilista famoso per la sua couture contemporanea e ad altissimo tasso di artigianalità ricorda: “Fin da piccolo ho avuto un forte gusto estetico, molto indipendente. Ho avuto cinque fratelli, ma non mi sono mai messo un calzino che non fosse mio e nuovo”.

rmanno Scervino had fashion in his blood even when he was only five years old. “I was simply mad about it”, he told us at the company headquarters in the wonderful countryside round Florence as he was giving the final touches to his men’s and women’s collections.

And naturally to his Ermanno Scervino Junior collection too which he launched in 2005 and that has given him so much satisfaction. “When I was small if I didn’t look how I wanted to there was real trouble!” recalling with amusement his childhood when he still lived with his parents and brothers in Milan. “I got my inspiration from the TV, naturally from the programmes before 9pm”. This designer, famous for his contemporary, skilled artisan couture remembered, “I had a very strong sense of aesthetics, very independent, from when I was very young. I had five brothers but I never put on one sock that was not my own and bought for me”.

r Styles Compa orna anche in questo numero il consueto faccia a faccia tra protagonisti dell’universo junior: interviste doppie per spiegare nel dettaglio l’articolato mondo del bambino e, soprattutto, per evidenziare i diversi stili che caratterizzano i brand. Due marchi e due espressioni a confronto.

Questa volta Mi.Mi.Sol per lo stile classico e il marchio Dondup per lo street ci mostrano i loro progetti futuri, le attese del presente e le previsioni su che cosa riserva loro il mercato.

Ma qual è lo scopo di questo contraddittorio? Sottolineare le differenze ed esaltare i punti in comune di due griffe apparentemente diverse. Invece, sono due realtà accomunate da acume imprenditoriale, da una profonda conoscenza del settore e da un occhio attento agli sviluppi futuri.

he usual confrontation between childrenwear universe protagonists returns also in this issue: double interviews to explain in detail the variegated kid’s world and, above all, to underline the different styles which characterise brands. A confrontation between two brands and two spirits.

This time Mi.Mi.Sol, for the classical style, and the brand Dondup for the street one show us future plans, present expectations and market trends. But what is the objective of this confrontation? Underlining the differences and enhancing the common points of view of the two labels, which are apparently different. However, the common denominators of these two companies are entrepreneurial sensitivity, deep knowledge of this sector and an attentive eye to future developments.

IMELDE BRONZIERI FASHION DESIGNER Una griffe classica come la vostra come si approccia allo stile casualwear?

Mi.Mi.Sol è un progetto di collezione contemporanea che approccia bene anche allo stile casual, perché si propone di creare un total look che possa andare bene per diverse occasioni, formali e informali.

A quali caratteristiche affi date la riconoscibilità del vostro marchio? È un marchio nuovo che spe riamo divenga presto ben rico noscibile: ci affideremo alla moder nità dei piccoli dettagli nel tagl io dei modelli e nella ricerca dei ma teriali che renderà tutto special e.

Quali punti di forza si ripetono a ogni collezione?

Mi.Mi.Sol, che nasce con la sua prima collezione nella primavera/estate 2012, ha come punto di forza il made in Italy, che si esprime nella ricerca, nei dettagli e soprattutto nella passione che si percepisce in tutti i capi.

MANUELA MARIOTTI FASHION DESIGNER Una griffe casualwear come la vostra come si approccia allo stile classico?

Il nostro casual wear è dettato da un gusto semplice e rigoroso reinterpretato con toni forti come, ad esempio, il “concetto del rock” che viene espresso delicatamente anche su un abito bon ton.

A quali caratteristiche aff idate la riconoscibilità del vostro marchio?

La riconoscibilità del nostro marchio è data dai fitting, dall e vestibilità, dai dettagli come i bottoni e le cuciture e soprattutto dall’artigianalità.

Quali punti di forza si ripetono a ogni collezione?

Sicuramente la cura dei dettagli e la ricercatezza nei fitting e nei tessuti.

Qual è il capo maggiormente venduto delle vostre collezioni e, secondo voi, perché?

Sono i classici abitini, perché ogni bambina è affascinata da questo genere di abbigliamento, che oltre tutto valorizza ogni tipo di figura.

Qual è il capo maggiormente venduto delle vostre collezioni e, secondo voi, perché?

Fino a poco tempo fa sicuramente il denim. Dalle ultime due stagioni c’è un forte riconoscimento dei nostri capispalla anche se il DNA Dondup è evidente in ogni capo.

Vi è un elemento esclusivo Mi.Mi.Sol che si può identificare in ogni collezione (un dettaglio, un tessuto, una lavorazione)?

Sicuramente il segno distintivo sono le note musicali, perché “mi mi sol” sono le prime note della tradizionale ninna nanna: quindi, in ogni collezione si ritroveranno nei ricami o nelle stampe.

Vi è un elemento esclusivo Dondup che si può identificare in ogni collezione (un dettaglio, un tessuto, una lavorazione)?

Ogni anno apportiamo nuove sperimentazioni, lavaggi e modelli alle nostre collezioni, anche se la continua ricerca è sicuramente il filo conduttore che lega tutti i capi. L’elemento più riconoscibile è senza dubbio la D posta su tutti i nostri prodotti (modellata per i capi femminili e gotica per quelli maschili).

itti Bimbo n. 73 ha fatto registrare la presenza di oltre 11mila visitatori, tra i quali circa 7mila buyer, per un terzo stranieri. Tra i mercati esteri in evidenza Russia (+30%), Gran Bretagna (+12,6%) e Turchia (+42,5%), e incrementi consistenti da Brasile, Cina, Portogallo, Canada e Paesi dell’ex Unione Sovietica. 529 le collezioni presentate, di cui oltre 200 provenienti dall’estero, divise tra le varie sezioni della Fortezza da Basso: Sport Generation, New View, EcoEthic, Super Street, Apartment.

Molto seguiti le sfilate e gli eventi speciali, che hanno avuto un pubblico di quasi 5mila tra compratori, giornalisti e operatori del settore.

he 73rd edition of Pitti Bimbo was attended by over 11,000 visitors, of which 7,000 were buyers and a third came from other countries. There was a strong presence from Russia (+30%), Great Britain (+12.6%) and Turkey (+42.5%) and a consistent increase of visitors from Brazil, China, Portugal, Canada and the ex-Soviet Union countries. 529 collections were presented of which 200 were from outside Italy and spread over the various sections of the Fortezza da Basso; Sport Generation, New View, EcoEthic, Super Street and Apartment. The fashion shows were very well attended, as were the special events which drew audiences of almost 5,000 between buyers, journalists and professionals.

A touch of couture

Atmosfere anni Settanta tra pantaloni Capri, copricostumi coloratissimi e jeans a zampa d’elefante. Le righe bianche e blu sono perfette sia per le femminucce che per i maschietti, mentre soltanto a lei sono dedicate le gonnelline a balze rosse e blu. E per la linea Couture, destinata alle occasioni importanti, completini bianchi in tulle con ruches e balze, perle e glitter, vestitini con pizzi e plissé.

Seventies atmospheres with Capri style pants, colourful beach robes and bell-bottomed jeans. The white and blue stripes are perfect for both little girls and little boys, whilst the little skirts with red and blue flounces are dedicated only to her. The Couture line for formal clothing includes white outfits in tulle with frills and flounces, pearls and glitters and dresses with laces and plissés.

Dopo il maschietto Hitch Hiker, le femminucce Jakioo: le gonne vaporose si abbinano ai leggings, i disegni e le stampe sono luccicanti, i fiori sbocciano sull’abitino bianco e blu. Jeans, tute e bermuda per Ny&Lon, mentre Monnalisa Chic propone gonne a palloncino, con righe-fiori-pois, e anche tanto lurex.

E per la sera, abitini bianchi con pizzi e oro, oppure romanticissimo verde acqua.
