GREAT NEWS FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA ATV INITIATIVE! June 6, 2018
Great news for ATV and Side by Side riders in the state of PA. The following language, directing DCNR to complete the Whiskey Springs-Bloody Skillet Connection and the ATV system connecting Clinton County with the NY Border, was inserted in the Fiscal Code and was signed by the Governor: From HB 1929, Fiscal Code: SECTION 17. SECTIONS 1720-E, 1725-E, 1727-E AND 1730-E OF THE ACT ARE AMENDED TO READ: SECTION 1720-E. DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES [(RESERVED)]. THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY TO APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES: 30 (1) IN CONSULTATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DEVELOP, OPEN AND MAINTAIN AN ATV TRAIL CONNECTING THE WHISKEY SPRINGS ATV TRAIL TO THE BLOOD SKILLET ATV TRAIL BY UTILIZING EXISTING STATE ROADS AND STATE FOREST ROADS BY APRIL 1, 2020. (2) IN CONSULTATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, IMPLEMENT THE FULL NORTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA ATV INITIATIVE AND CREATE A NETWORK OF ATV TRAILS CONNECTING CLINTON COUNTY TO THE NEW YORK STATE BORDER BY UTILIZING EXISTING STATE ROADS AND STATE FOREST ROADS BY APRIL 1, 2024. The CMATVA has been working with the DCNR and Larson Design Group along with all involved to try and make this connector between Bloody Skillet and Whiskey Springs a reality. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and the Governors ability to see the impact that these connectors can make, we are moving forward. This is fantastic news for the off-road riding community. From my understanding this will eventually open a grand total of 1800 miles of legal riding in central and upstate Pa. If we do it the right way this project could link 1000’s more miles of available riding in Pa. Please ride responsibly and support the efforts of all involved because our future can be bright. MOTOCROSS RACING COUPLE TAKE ON HMDR SPRINT ENDURO Last weekend the High Mountain Dirt Riders held their second annual Sprint Enduro at the South Side Conservation Club near Catawisa, Pa. This event was held as a Harescramble for many years but due to some changes in the property there they revised their format last year and it has been a hit. I wasn’t able to attend this year’s event but noticed that a long time motocross friend of mine decided to give some off-road racing a try along with his wife. I talked to Greg and got his permission to share his take on the weekend because I thought it was definitely worth sharing with the racing community. Greg “Frenchy” Pamart (second from left) has been a life long motocross racer. He has been a French National Champion in years past and continues to strive for excellence both on and off the bike. Pamart travels to all the big Amateur National events and you can always find him finishing in the top five if not on top of the podium. Greg’s motto has always been “MX for Life”
BELOW I’LL SHARE HIS WORDS IN HIS TYPICAL FRENCHMEN STYLE: Something weird happened yesterday.. by Greg “Frenchy” Pamart – Motocross racer I raced something else than motocross (second time in like 35 years) ... A “sprint enduro” that is, and I enjoyed the crap out of it. This is a few fun factor that made it a kick ass experience. Fun Factor #1: it was a event that my wife Marika Krejci Pamart was participating in as well. It was her very first time racing offroad so I was very excited, nervous and pumped all at the same time. supporting her like she support me was a great feeling. She raced in the morning and me in the afternoon so we pitted for each other. I cried like a little school girl when she took off, thanks good it was pouring rain nobody noticed. So proud of her!!! Fun Factor #2: the unknown. We had no expectation and any remote idea on what we were getting into. It rain like hell, rocks everywhere, roots central, trees every 2 inchs, oil on ice hill climbs, who in ze world want to pay to ride a motorcycle in this shit..? We and a bunch of insane ppl did. Fun Factor #3: being not prepared. Showing up with the wrong bike, wrong tires, not knowing what’s the right bike or tires in the first place, no food, no spares.. not caring, over thinking and winging it is a great feeling. We work the day before so we just throw some bikes in the Sprinter and hit the road to the race. No pressure. Fun factor #4: no expectation. Even so we push ourself 100% (and I won my class 40A) we had nothing short of a near death experience (à la Delivrance) to finish.. we show up humble and ready to get our asses kicked. We did.. I got 20th overal and Marika crashed a zillion times, but we kept going and smiled (when done). Fun factor #5: friends. Ivan Pier Rat Tulala (I owe ya a tube btw), Eric Moose, Alex Alexandre, Bob Monko, Doc Mc gee and few other unknown ppl make it a absolute blast. They actualy have a award ceremony when we all hang out and bs about the day. Bad ass! The event (ecea) was well organized, club members were helpful and friendly, a pleasure. Fun factor #6: seat time. +2 hours of hardcore riding in shitty condition. Im ready for loretta, heat, ruts and mudd are my friends. Fun factor #7: satisfaction. When you’re done and did your best, you actualy feel like you accomplish something. You and your bike are beat but in one piece. Now time for food and a couple brew with your mates. Awesome feeling. So why not mixing it up a little? What’s next? Road racing? Mini GP? Adv 24 hour race (let’s do it Marco Sanna!)? Riding around the world..? We set our own limit in life... at the end of the day, the right peoples, 2 wheels and a motor and life is good! #ridingisriding #mx4life #xcmaybenot #puravida #whyweride #nevergiveup Thanks to the Pamart’s for trying something new and sharing their experience with the world. Pine Grove Yamaha Trail Report 8th Annual BMC - CMATVA Cruise for a Cure Riders Raise Money for Cancer Patients
Riders Line Up to Start The 2018 Cruise for a Cure
June 9, 2018 Renovo, Pa By: Jim Bull – BrappMag.com
Eight years ago, the Relay for Life Team from the Bucktail Medical Center teamed up with the Central Mountains ATV Association (CMATVA) looking for an “out of the box” way to raise money for cancer patients and cancer research. Hence the Renovo ATV Cruise for a Cure was born and over the years has raised close to $60,000 that comes right back to local people who are both fighting and have survived cancer. Matter of fact the 2017 Cruise set a record, raising over $10,000 after all expenses were paid. I learned in speaking with Tim Reeves, the CEO for Bucktail Medical Center, that their facility that was founded in 1909 is not only the local hospital for the residents of both Renovo and South Renovo but is also a Critical Access Hospital which is a designation given to rural hospitals that meet guidelines to receive certain benefits, such as cost-based reimbursement for Medicare services. Mr. Reeves explained that their Relay for Life team that was started by local cancer survivors was looking for a different type of fundraiser when they stumbled across the CMATVA who was looking for additional opportunities to ride in the area. The two groups teamed up for what has become the largest fundraiser that the Relay for Life Team sponsors each year. “That first year we had 60 riders,” explained Reeves. Due to the CMATVA’s involvement and the support of the local community the event has grown tremendously. He also wanted to thank the DCNR and the local fire companies and landowners for cooperating and opening the town and sections of trail to ATV traffic that would not otherwise be allowed. He also wanted to thank the Jimmy Dremel family and Hope Enterprises for opening their property for parking and camping for the close to 400 participants that rode in this year’s Cruise. The Cruise for a Cure is a 46 plus mile controlled guided trail ride that starts in downtown Renovo and South Renovo and travels to the Quiet Oaks Campground in Tamarack, Pa. (Near Cross Fork) There, Boy Scout Troop 137 offered a catered lunch to help raise money for the cause before riders traveled an alternate route back to Renovo to enjoy a Chicken BBQ dinner at the Renovo Fire Company that was included in their donation for the ride. What will this year’s numbers look like? It was too soon to tell at the writing of this article. I would guess however with the large participation plus all the extra fund raising going on during the event that 2018 might yet set another record. Thanks go out to everyone involved, especially the riders for turning out. It is a different type of ride that many are not used to but I believe well worth the cause. It just goes to show that the off-road community wants to give back and what better way to do it than helping someone improve their quality of life. Tough Like RORR Extreme Off-Road Event Tamaqua, Pa By: BrappMag.com
The weekend leading into July 4th, 2018 could go down as one of the most brutal races in history. The Reading Off Road Riders (RORR) held their annual PA State Championship Extreme Off Road Event labeled “Tough Like RORR” in 95 + degree heat in the Reading Anthracite coal region just south of the town of Tamaqua, Pa. With $5000 on the line for the first place finish, racers were eager to give it a go. This would be the fourth year now for this annual event and the RORR club sure does know how to build a “Tough” course. Riders need to complete three heat races over two days on different courses with the top 50 fastest combined times moving on to the 50-man main event on Sunday afternoon. This year’s temps were brutal and out of the 199 riders who started the event, only 10 finished. This year Trail Jesters sponsored a separate Women’s event within the main event offering up a $1000 purse. The gals had to run the same course as everyone else within the three heat format. Combined scores would determine the overall winners on the weekend. Out of the five lady competitors for the weekend Taylor Johnston would race to the first place finish followed by Annelisa Davis with Jenn Woynar rounding out the podium. RORR always does a great job and this event would be no different. The final course ended up being a 15.5 mile loop with riders attempting to do 2.5 laps. The club had members situated all over the course and water stops and assistance were available along the way. In the end only ten men would complete the total laps with most pulling off after one with either a machine malfunction or total heat exhaustion. Kudo’s go out to every single racer that started this event and all the support members, RORR club members, spectators and all involved. This was a brutal weekend to be on a bike, especially in these conditions. It took the efforts of all on the mountain that day to keep everyone safe and headed home in one piece. Keep an eye on our pages or tune into: www.rorr.org for info on next years event and other great Reading Off Road Riders events. B

MAMA vs MDRA Shootout 2018 Doublin Gap MX Park
July 14-15, 2018 By: BrappMag.com Mother Nature blessed us greatly as we headed out to the Doublin Gap Motocross Park in mid July for the 3rd Annual Shootout between two of the largest motocross racing organizations in the mid-Atlantic region. This was the third year for this annual event and a tie breaker to date. The MDRA would come out on top this year but I think the real story lies in the fact that these two large independent groups can come together and put on a race of this magnitude. So props to the promoters for working together and for the racers to be willing to give it a go. The event kicked off on Friday under clear blue skies for a practice day. Racers would get the opportunity for some extra seat time and a chance at checking out Doublin Gap’s new track design. Saturday we would awake to more sunny skies and the day would consist of mainly a MAMA regular Saturday format with 18 classes on the day and a couple of practice sessions. Sunday would be the full day with close to 35 classes to run combined between all the MDRA and MAMA classes. The weather would hold and in typical Doublin Gap fashion we sailed through the day with all heading home with plenty of time for a good night’s sleep. Please check out the top 5 finishers here in each division then head over to each respective organization website to see the full list. You can also head over to www. brappmag.com and see images from all classes on the weekend. Again kudos, to both groups for coming together for a spectacular mid-summer event. Both have events the second weekend in August after Loretta’s concludes with MAMA heading to Budds Creek and the MDRA is racing at Sleepy Hollow. B
250 C is on the gate – Gavin Heath wins this and two more classes.
Gaylon Dickson won 5 classes on the weekend.
The shootout was red hot this year.
AMS rider Chase Miller is back on the scene winning 125A.

Karns Performance Trail Report Memorial Day ATV Ride with the CMATVA CF Moto Z Force 800 Trail Takes on Potter County Memorial Day Weekend - 2018 In late May my wife and I loaded up to embark on our next fun adventure with the Central Mountains ATV Association. As we headed north towards Karns Performance in Mechanicsburg, Pa to pick up our test vehicle for the weekend we once again wondered what Mother Nature would throw at us on this ride. The weatherman was saying it was going to be dry to start the weekend but that the rain was coming. Earlier this year we decided that it was time for us to have some fun and that we wanted to add an off road element to our local racing publication, hence Outdoorzmag. com was born. We joined the Central Mountains ATV Association based out of Lock Haven, Pa and we went all in saying hey, we’ll even take over some press duties too. So here we are, having the time of our lives, riding with other like minded individuals and trying out new machines along the way. The association rides twice a month, every month and this holiday weekend took us north to the Potter County Family CampGet out and explore the PA Wilds.

Taking a break at Lyman Run State Park
ground to ride the miles and miles of both DCNR trail systems and township roads that the area has opened up to ATV and Side by Side use. Being a dirt bike rider from way back, I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this type of off-roading, but like a good friend of mine said earlier this year, with age comes the cage, lol. I tell you what though, cage or not the beauty about the side by side is, that if you want to do 10 mph and look for deer you can but in the same token, if you want to get your groove on, given the right machine you can do that too. Anyhow, we’re here to promote
safe and responsible riding so you didn’t hear that from me. So like I was saying we went and visited our friends from Karns Performance in Mechanicsburg, Pa to pick up our CF Moto Z Force 800 Trail model for our ride and another shout out here to Keystone Trailers in Lancaster, Pa for letting us use a classy aluminum hauler to tote this baby around on. We arrived at the campground Friday evening and got camp set up. On this particular weekend we
rented a cozy little cabin where we got a good night’s rest. We were up early Saturday morning to join the 30 plus machines for our days ride in the Pa Wilds. Our Morning excursion took us south to Lyman Run State Park where we stopped for a group picture and some refreshing ice cream from their snack bar. Lyman Run is a staple in the area and offers fishing, swimming, hiking and camping and of course access to the state ATV trail system. From there we headed back to the campground for a short break for lunch then we all met back up and headed north towards NY State. In all total on Saturday we rode from 9 in the morning until about 5 at night putting on just over 100 miles. Oh, the CF Moto you ask? My wife and I rode with the group all day Saturday but weren’t able to stay for the full ride on Sunday. We did take the Z Force out on a solo journey putting another 30 miles on for a total of 130 miles in two days. I’ve been trying to get in this machine for close to a year now and the circumstances finally became right. I’ve ridden many different makes and models and I was curious to see just how this value priced machine would make the cut. 800 liquid cooled twin with electronic fuel injection, electronic power steering, standard winch, roof and aluminum wheels. Adjustable suspension, high, low range with 2, 4 and 4-wheel differential lock all for only $10,500.
Too good to be true right? This unit made plenty of power, shifted smoothly and sucked up the bumps with ease. Believe me, there’s days you ride 100 and feel like you went 200. Not the case with this beast. The low range pulled us through the deepest mud hole and up the mountain with ease and when in high we could cruise comfortable at 50 mph when needed. Would I buy one you ask? Probably not because it’s not the specific ride that would meet my needs right now. If I were thinking about a two-seater trail machine it would definitely be on my list however. Would I be afraid to buy one? Not at all, the machine performed well and in talking with another member in our group he is on his
third one in 6 years and has had nothing but great experiences. Check out Karns Performance or a dealer in your area for the full scoop and click the link below in our digital issue to learn what CF moto has to say. https://cfmotousa.com/ By the way, the group rode again on Sunday departing the campground and riding south to Cross Forks in Clinton County, then traveled thru Germania and into Tioga county and ended their day back at the camp ground logging another 100 plus miles. Three counties in one day riding legal with a group of good friends and having a blast. Go to the CMATVA website above to learn more and maybe we’ll see you out on the trail. www.cmatva.org B

WHO WE ARE: Husband and Wife Team! WHAT WE DO: Share the good news of Jesus Christ out on the trails of the ATV community! Mudhole Ministry is taking the truth to the trails. We enjoy getting together with people and being outside on the ATV trails. Sometimes we get a little muddy on the trails, but we always have a good time. We love the beauty of God’s creation and seek to fulfill Jesus’ commandment to “go into all the world and preach the gospel,” that would include all our ATV adventures. We want to share with all we meet the truth of God’s Word - that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and we are all in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for this opportunity!

Don’s Cycle Trail Report - CMATVA Rides the AOAA Trails July 7, 2018 By: BrappMag.com
July the 4th weekend 33 machines from the Central Mountains ATV Association (CMATVA) saddled up to ride in Northumberland County, Pa at the AOAA Trails. The CMATVA is a 1500 member strong ATV association based out of the Lock Haven area in Central Pa. that rides twice a month every month. This group is a strong force in creating trail riding opportunities in Pa and continues to fight for our rights to ride. The founding fathers if you will of the AOAA have a deep history in the area and it was some 20 years ago when a small group of riders had a vision to bring a legal and maintained riding area to Northumberland County. Due to theirs and many others diligent efforts today riders can enjoy over 6500 acres to explore in just about any type of off-road vehicle. The AOAA allows motorcycles, ATV’s and Side by Sides as well as full size off road trucks, jeeps and rock crawlers. Located less than three hours from New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington DC, the AOAA offers a safe haven for riders from all over the East Coast. Varying terrains can be found at the AOAA and there is trail riding available for all skill levels. Maps are available, and the trails are well marked. Guides are also available for groups to enjoy a day at the park. Our group had a great day spending about five hours out on the trails. A few machine malfunctions cut down our typical mileage for the day but that is one of the benefits of joining the association. Not only the camaraderie but no man, women or machine gets left behind. We function as a unit to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience. We wanted to throw a big shout out to Dons Cycle in Hellam, Pa. They put us in this Kawasaki Teryx 800 LE with EPS for our ride at the AOAA. This machine performed great and I would recommend that anyone thinking about a new machine to put this on your list. The machine offered plenty of power from its 800 V - twin power plant and comes equipped with Fox Podium Shocks to get you thru those PA rock gardens. Matter of fact this machine was a clean pre-owned unit with only 160 miles on and is still available from the staff at Dons Cycle. They offer machines from Kawasaki and Polaris plus a slew of personal watercraft and motorcycles for your riding pleasure. Go online here: www.donskawasaki.com to contact Don today and please tell them Brapp Magazine sent you. Go online here: https://www.kawasaki.com/Products/2018-Teryx-LE to get the full scoop on the Kawasaki Teryx. Watch our next issue for more riding adventures in Pa with the CMATVA. Better yet, check them out and join the association at: www. cmatva.org B Check out Dons Cycle in Hellam, PA for your Kawasaki and Polaris needs.

July 21-22, 2018 By: BrappMag.com
Here we go again – rain, rain, rain. Breaking news, its going to rain in 2018. All kidding aside, its been a wet one and some series have been affected more than others. Mid-season the Mid Atlantic Motocross association returned to Hanover, Pa to another soaker. This group has certainly been challenged this year by the weather and the staff did the best to “get er in”. The weather however had other plans as two giant storms converged on the state of Pa with some areas getting hit harder than others. The good news is that all Saturday classes got their motos in, but by late Saturday the pits were getting soggy and more rain was promised to arrive. The Mama team made the call and on Sunday racing was postponed.
Nathan Murphy was on the gas winning all of his motos.
Check out some pics and results below and as usual you can check the MAMA website for full results and head over to BrappMag.com for all the pics. We’ll see you at the next one and don’t forget the Big Kevin Crine Memorial Race is coming soon. B

Joseph chased Moose, (sorry, couldn’t help myself), for the first three laps until Shaun was forced to retire on the last lap, handing the overall to Joseph. Just a few weeks later, the weather had shifted dramatically and round 5 at Reynlow was hot and humid. The location for this ride is unique in that it is actually held on county park property, and it serves as the annual fundraiser for property maintenance. Riders seemed eager to get on some dry trails after the prior mudfest. Course conditions were very good, even dusty in some areas. One of the favorite spectator spots here is a very steep hill just behind the pits that provides a serious challenge for small bores, rounded knobbies, and any rider that neglects to get a run at the bottom.
