P ROJE C T D E SC R I P T I O N After completing Walris Oyster and Ale House’s restaurant in National Harbor, SM+P was called on once again to convert an existing restaurant into a high-end oyster bar. Located in a detached portion of the Columbia Mall, SM+P was able to take the existing 6,200sf restaurant space, and create a variety of eating experiences, including a new all-season enclosed patio space, adding 800sf of seating capacity. The interior was enhanced through the use of a light color palate & natural materials. Distinct spaces were defined by custom freestanding steel & wood shelving walls to maintain an open feel. Garage doors divide the interior from the allseason patio and open to create an open-air experience when weather permits. A custom stainless steel raw-bar anchors the space, creating a transition to the open kitchen, and a statement piece as patrons enter the restaurant.
