EDITOR'S NOTES Well, here we are in 2021. After taking some time to readjust and honestly just *survive* 2020, I'm feeling excited and ready for this year ahead. Weddings in the last year got SO creative – while some postponed to safer times, others forged ahead with altered celebrations. From intimate two-person-and-a-photographer elopements to socially distant mini-monies, it's been a wild and creative time. As we keep our fingers crossed for small semblances of normalcy throughout this year, there are so many love stories ahead to be told. One thing's for sure: love doesn't stop, even if the world seemingly comes to a screeching halt. So let's celebrate it, embrace it, and take it all for what it is: love. Cheers to another love-filled year, no matter what it looks like.
With love,
ukelman
Megan Bre

The real twist to this styled shoot was that our models were a real couple and they exchanged vows and were legally married during the shoot amidst a global pandemic! It was quite the destination elopement weekend. Where a typical styled shoot might be called off due to rain, because we were holding an actual ceremony we went ahead with everything and we think the rain and dark sky add an element of realness and romance to this styled-shoot-turned-realwedding. The couple had no input into design and their entire intimate wedding day was a surprise! The venue is on a tree farm, but our team
wanted to display this landscape can be beautifully used all throughout the year, not just for a winter wedding. We know that showing couples what can be done is the perfect way to ignite their own imagination for a space especially with the current trend towards micro and intimate weddings while still prioritizing unique details. We designed a summery bohemian, glamping vibe to really share the summer aesthetic and show how it can be so easily introduced to a Christmas tree farm - we even had the florist create the ceremony set up in between the trees! This allows the viewer to be aware of the trees but the bright summery flower colors and
the bentwood chairs draw your eyes back to the beauty of the design versus focusing on the Christmas trees. Every detail was thought through and shared so much of each vendor. From the 20 carat rose gold wedding jewelry custom designed for this couple with hand engravings, wedding invitations with their true names, custom vow books, gorgeous charcuterie, intimate glamping tent and lighting, memorable cocktails, blueberries in the florals, and colorful macaroons from one of Mystic, Connecticut’s most well known French inspired bakeries - this intimate wedding was filled with exceptional details.

During a worldwide Pandemic... Love still wins! Our sweet amazing couple Keilen and Jacob had picked their wedding date because of it's significant meaning to them. They did not want to move their wedding and were ready for the next chapter of their lives. They started planning their wedding at the beginning of 2020 for a 2020 summer wedding. They knew it was a short time frame and hired EVL Events to help get the planning underway. Come March 2020, COVID-19 strikes and plans start crumbling all around them. From NYS guidelines changing by the week to a brand new venue that had construction put on pause due to the lockdown, Keilen and Jacob weren't sure the wedding of their dreams was
going to happen. With patience and perseverance... and a few tweaks to guest count and spacing, EVL Events and Keilen and Jacob's amazing vendor team were able to make their day happen flawlessly and allowing them to move on to the next chapter of their lives.

JASMINE & ADRIAN EQUIPMENT & FLORAL DESIGNER: DA VINCIS FLORIST, RECEPTION VENUE: BALTIMORE MARRIOTT WATERFRONT, PHOTOGRAPHER: MEGAPIXELS MEDIA
Baltimore born and raised, Jasmine Hampton met Adrian Brooks, a born and bred New Yorker in the Big Apple on a warm spring afternoon. The two had an impromptu date following an invite from his sister, to join Adrian and his mentees for an afternoon at the movies. Adrian would go on that evening to spend hours talking to Jasmine at Arturo’s Pizza in the West Village, in which he would loose his house and car keys, while lost in conversation for hours. Seven years later, the two had been planning a trip to Dubai for sometime. In my Adrian’s heart, as they planned the trip, he knew they would leave as boyfriend and girlfriend, but return as engaged. Unlike many others, didn’t look to orchestrate the perfect moment. He was
committed to carrying the ring on him throughout the trip until the perfect time presented itself. With all they did in Dubai, carrying something so expensive became rather nerve racking. On their second day in Dubai the perfect opportunity presented itself. Upon entering our hotel room, they noticed housekeeping had place towels in the shape of Swan’s on the bed (this was not planned, but taken as sign). They laughed to each other about how corny the Swan’s are, but how much they added to what felt like the perfect day. Jasmine took a seat in the room chair, which is positioned between the bed and room window, with a view overlooking the city. After some chit chat about all they saw and how good the food
at Parker’s tasted, Adrian reached for the ring box in his camera bag, got down on one bended knee in front of Jasmine and asked her to marry him. Jasmine got teary eyed, said yes, and pulled him in for hug. Fast forward and the two are still lost in conversation, surrounding life, love, and travel in the city where they fell in love. Jasmine and Adrian wed on August 25, 2018 in Baltimore at Marriott Waterfront.

Rebekka and Reggie met as flight attendants in 2016, after they had both recently moved there. They fell in love with the city and with each other. Reggie proposed in front of the Brooklyn Bridge, one of their favorite spots in New York. It was only fitting we shot their engagements
there.
