Find your personal best

Brunel has a long and distinguished history in sport. Whether you play at the highest competitive level, or enjoy it for fitness and fun, there’s a huge choice available. Our sports facilities are used by some of the world’s top athletes, including former 100m World Champion Yohan Blake and `Linford Christie Academy’ sprinters – trained by the 90s Olympic legend himself.

Sports clubs

Team Brunel, run by the Union of Brunel Students, represents the 40 student sports clubs at Brunel. Ranging from team sports such as rugby and netball, through to individual sports like judo, kayaking and athletics, they’re open to all students, regardless of ability or experience.

Facilities

Our facilities include the impressive Indoor Athletics Centre with its 132-metre long indoor sprint track, long jump pit, high jump and pole vault areas. It also includes a multi-purpose weight training area, a dedicated weightlifting area with platforms, and a separate matted area for martial arts. In addition, you’ll find treatment rooms for sports massage and physiotherapy.

If fitness is your thing, Brunel Gym boasts state-ofthe-art cardiovascular machines along with resistance and free weight areas, a comprehensive fitness class programme and a dedicated women’s only section. You can play basketball, volleyball, badminton and netball in our Sports Halls, and there’s an indoor climbing wall, squash courts and cricket and archery nets.

At our Sports Park opposite campus, you’ll find a 400-metre athletics track, a full-size football pitch and three artificial pitches – two 3G pitches approved by World Rugby and FIFA and a sand-dressed multi-use pitch for hockey. Our neighbouring playing field is a further extension to the Sports Park, with four football pitches, two rugby pitches, and a lacrosse pitch. Outdoor facilities include six tennis courts and four netball courts, all of which are serviced by the Sports Pavilion which incorporates changing facilities, a video analysis teaching room and a sports bar.
