Applications for all full-time and placement first degree courses must be made online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).

Where can I apply?

You’ll find all available courses listed on the UCAS website. You can apply for 2024 entry online as an individual or as part of your school or college. For more information and to apply for a course, visit ucas.com

When should I apply?

UCAS will start receiving applications from the starts of September 2024 for entry in autumn 2023. The normal closing date for submitting an application is by the January deadline. Some applicants, especially from outside the UK, may find this deadline difficult. So you can still apply through UCAS up to the end of June, if there are still places available. Universities and colleges may still consider your application but the most popular courses may already be full. If you apply after the end of June, you’ll automatically go into Clearing. This means your application will be considered if there are still vacancies on the course. In Clearing you contact the universities directly and then you add the choice on your UCAS account once you have received a provisional offer.

How do I apply?

You may apply for up to five choices of institution or course on your UCAS form. You do not need to use all five choices if you don’t want to. You can select your choices from any of the courses listed on the UCAS website and you may, for example, mix both degree and non-degree courses if appropriate. If you wish to apply for more than one course at Brunel, you’ll have to make a separate entry for each choice. It is not possible to place your choices in order of preference and all your applications will be treated equally. You’ll need to include the institution codes for your choices. As well as choosing five institutions / courses, you need to complete seven other sections on the application: your personal details; additional information (for UK applicants only); student finance; your education history; your employment history; a personal statement; and a reference from the last educational institution you attended. If you need help or advice on your application, you can call the UCAS Customer Service team on +44 (0)371 468 0 468.

What does it cost to apply?

It currently costs £27 to apply through UCAS or £22.50 if you apply for only one course. UCAS costs can vary each year. If you’re applying through school or college, your teacher or lecturer will tell you how you need to pay. If you’re applying online as an individual, you can pay by credit or debit card.

How do I apply for a part-time or non-degree course?

Applications are made online via a link on each course webpage brunel.ac.uk/study

What offer will I be made?

Many applicants will have to gain qualifications before they can take up their place and the university will set the grades needed for a course. This is called a Conditional Offer. You may receive an Unconditional Offer if you have already achieved the qualifications for a particular course. Any conditions set for an offer of a place should be fulfilled by early August , unless they relate to UK qualifications completed in summer 2024 which we will receive through UCAS automatically. If you have any queries regarding this date, please contact the Admissions Office on 01895 265 265 admissions@brunel.ac.uk
