Applying to Brunel

You’re about to make one of the most important decisions of your life. One that will shape your future. But don’t worry, you don’t need to go it alone – there’s lots of funding options available to support you. Plus, our Student Centre can help with any financial enquiries and can support you with money and budgeting advice.

Every year Brunel University London offers over 600 scholarships, bursaries and discounts to Home, EU and International students. These awards can go a long way to help you fund fees and living costs whilst you’re studying. Our Job Shop is also on hand to support you in finding part-time work to help you earn some extra cash – a great way to also boost your CV.

Tuition fees

The fee you pay depends on several factors, such as your nationality and residency. At the time of publication, fees for 2024 have not yet been confirmed. Please visit brunel.ac.uk/study/undergraduate-feesand-funding for further information.

Whatever course you choose to study, you should also be prepared to pay some additional study-related costs for materials and equipment. You can check the relevant course web page for details.

Student finance

Depending on your circumstances, you could be eligible for financial support from the government. These packages include student loans that cover your tuition fees while you are studying. Maintenance loans are available to full-time home students to help with the day-to-day costs of going to university. The amount you receive will depend on where you live during term-time and where you decide to study.

You may also be eligible for additional money, for example if you’re on a low income, are disabled or have children.

Tuition fees and maintenance loans must be paid back but you will only start to make repayments when you are earning above a certain amount per year.

You’ll find details on the full range of government support offered at gov.uk/studentfinance

Living costs

You will also need to consider what budget you set for your living costs, which will include accommodation, clothes, food and your social life.

If you are an international student and require a Student visa to enter the UK to study, you must show you can afford your living costs each month. There is more information to help you with this at brunel.ac.uk/international/fees-and-funding

Working while you study.

Taking up a part-time job is a great way to earn some extra money, as well as giving you valuable work experience and learning new skills.

Our Job Shop can help you find part-time opportunities on and off campus. You can find more details at brunel.ac.uk/jobshop

Scholarships

Our scholarships and bursaries are based on a whole range of criteria, and many don’t require an application. In the summer we’ll assess your grades and other eligibility criteria and automatically award a scholarship or bursary if found eligible.

Available scholarships include awards for academic excellence, sports and for various groups of students including different subjects and countries – as well as bursaries for those from low income households. Undergraduate applicants are reminded to consent to the sharing of household data submitted to the Student Loans Company (SLC). Without your consent Brunel cannot access your data (namely your household income) and assess your eligibility for a bursary and you won’t be awarded.

You’ll find information about all available scholarships and bursaries, application details and all terms and conditions at brunel.ac.uk/scholarships

For enquiries about specific scholarships please email scholarships@brunel.ac.uk
