Studying sports science at Brunel allows you to pursue your specialist interests, whilst benefiting from hands-on learning and work experience. You’ll have access to some of the best teaching and sports facilities in the UK, including our modern physiology, psychology and biomechanics laboratories, media centre and Indoor Athletics Centre. You’ll be taught by our internationally-renowned academic staff, who use innovative teaching and assessment methods, designed to get the best out of you. You’ll learn in a thriving, safe and supportive community of staff and students. You can also broaden your communication, networking and employability skills by studying abroad for a year at the prestigious San Francisco State University (available for selected degrees only).

You can add to your CV by undertaking a placement year working in a high-profile organisation. Previous students have gained work experience at prestigious organisations including Chelsea FC, West Ham FC, the English Institute of Sport, London Sport Trust and Ealing Trail Finders Rugby Academy.

You’ll also have access to other career-focused activities, such as inspirational talks from alumni, careers events, paid and volunteering opportunities with sport organisations, and research-related work experience with our world-leading academics.

I’m particularly enjoying the hands-on experience in the labs. My work placement with Access Sport on the Ignite and BMX Legacy programme has helped me to learn why people engage or disengage from physical activity and this complements my dissertation.
