Film Studies

Brunel offers you the perfect blend of theory and practice. You’ll learn key approaches to film and TV, as well as practical skills in video production.

Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to our iMAC lab, 17 edit suites and a variety of audio and visual studio spaces, as well a range of recording equipment. It’s here you’ll develop your practical skills, whilst supported by our dedicated technical training department. Our London campus boasts industry standard facilities that mirror what you’ll be using if you want to pursue a career in film and media. You’ll have access to the editing suites on campus, which have up-to-date production software such as Avid and Adobe with accredited training facilities for Final Cut Pro 10.

You’ll learn from academics who are experts in the field, whether as published researchers or award-winning filmmakers. Their wealth of knowledge informs your course content, keeping it innovative and engaging, and their insight will be invaluable in helping you shape your future choices.

Careers and your future

You’ll have the opportunity to carryout work experience in a range of sectors such as NGOs, marketing, corporate filmmaking, talent agencies and many more.

Our industry links have seen students land exclusive placements on some major productions such as Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, and the upcoming Bob Marley biopic.

We’re the proud founding partner of international talent agency ScreenCraft Works. As a part of our partnership, you’ll have the opportunity to secure a coveted space on the mentoring programme, which has seen students mentored by industry professionals from around the globe.

You’ll also have the chance to gain accreditation with BAFTA albert. You’ll engage with productive ways to reduce your carbon footprint and impact on the environment in film.

In my final year, I had the opportunity to take a work experience module, which was a contributing factor to strengthening my employability post graduation in the field of media.
