Editor's Note Hey Key Clubbers!! I hope everyone had an amazing break with friends and family! For the seniors, be sure to congratulate yourself for completing multiple college applications, if not all of them on your list. Along with all the festivities, Key Club does not stop! I always love the Key Club events in December as many of them are holiday themed. The Cabinet and Executive board have also been working very hard this December preparing for their LTC awards. I can’t wait to see what they all come up with and know they will be amazing! Be sure to continue on your key club journey by attending multiple events! While midterm week is arriving, regents week will be a great opportunity to volunteer and take a break from studying. As always, free to email me at editor.thetechkey@gmail.com, or message @thetechkey on instagram. Until next time!

- Rachel Lu

Corlears Hook Park Holiday Festival 12/9/23 479 Cherry St We participated in Corlears Park’s annual holiday festival! Volunteers helped the staff with the ornament making table and helped kids decorate their ornaments. Shout out to the key clubbers that attended!

Olivia Mohindra Corlears Hook Park Holiday Festival

On December 10th, I went to Corlears Hook Park to volunteer at their annual holiday festival! The event had ornament decorating tables and coloring tables for kids to have fun at. There was also a Christmas tree for us to decorate. We helped set up the park before families started arriving. During the event, we helped out at some of the tables and helped kids with ladders to reach higher parts of the tree. When it became dark, there was a tree lighting, and people started to leave after that. Then, we helped clean up by putting away tables and chairs and some of the games that were set up. During the party, a guy who had a pet bunny came over. The bunny was super cute and him and his owner come to the park a lot since the bunny can walk around in the grass there. They also had snacks. It was a super fun event!

Squarrel Cafe Fundraiser PawPatrol x Squarrel Cafe 12/16/23 Squarrel Cafe, Atlantic Ave This was the first single service fundraiser of the service year! We hope our members enjoyed the many drinks and treats offered at Squarrel Cafe while playing their favorite board games with friends. All proceeds were donated to MeowSquad, a non-profit organization aimed to support the welfare of cats. We had a great time collaborating with PawPatrol and thank Squarrel Cafe for supporting this event!

Henry Li Squarrel Cafe Fundraiser

On December 16th, Single Service had its first fundraiser with Squarrel Cafe around Atlantic, and collab with BTHS Paw Patrol. Obviously, for most key clubbers and Paw Patrol members this was an easy commute because it's right next to our school. Since of that, they were able to maximize their 2 hours of gameplay with any boardgame in the vast catalog that Squarrel Cafe had. They also had a vast array of drinks that each participant could get for free because it was included with their entry fee. It was a super cozy event with everyone having fun playing boardgames and drinking boba. Personally, I think it went especially well because boardgames were a great bonding experience and even if members went in alone they could easily have collective fun with the whole group without it being awkward at all. In the end, Single Service made around 200 dollars, which was 40% of all proceeds, for Meow Squad, an organization which we have worked with in the past.

Better Chinatown Christmas Festival 12/17/23 Bank of China, Tangram We collaborated with Better Chinatown! At this event, many key clubbers, even from other schools such as Bronx Science and Stuyvesant, helped hand out gifts and contributed to the Christmas parade that filled the streets of Flushing, Main Street.
