who keeps his other wives and other lives a secret. Much of her life is spent empty and waiting for him to visit, until she finds the name and address of one of the other wives. As her mind is overtaken with a competitive preoccupation with these two mystery women, we follow her obsessive mission to discover all she can about them. When Thursday strikes up a friendship with one unwitting wife and finds she has suspicious bruises and a husband who is very ‘protective’ of her, things begin to unravel as she is forced to question what she really knows about her husband and what he’s up to.

best for those who like to be kept guessing. The story is gripping as it spirals out, leaving you wondering who is telling the truth or what is even real in Thursday’s reality.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ OR LISTEN TO IT: There is not

much of a moral to the story, but you’ll find yourself wanting to discuss with people what they think is going on while you read it or what they thought of the ending. A good listen for when you’re either on holiday or you have a tonne of housework to get through. At Envy and The Barber Shop, we are much more than just another hair salon or Barber shop. Not only do we produce the very best in quality and traditional barbering in Byron Bay, but our knowledge and expertise in women’s colour, styling and cutting speaks volumes. With a qualified makeup artist on hand, we’re also the perfect choice for all special event styling, including weddings. We welcome new clients to experience all that we have to offer.

NARRATION QUALITY: The narrator, Lauren Fortgang,

reads Thursday as quite snarky and jealous to begin with, which makes her hard to like. Fortgang’s differentiation between characters is negligible yet she has skill in helping to build the ever-escalating tension of the narrative. Review written by Lauren Axelsen
