The Medici Stables were built in the first half of the sixteenth century with a basilica type of layout, similar to the one of the San Marco stables in Florence. On the ground floor there are the two stables, each with three cross vaulted naves that conclude in a huge room intended originally as carriages shelter. On the first floor there were thirty lodges for the people manning the horses and the villa. The dimensions are of 107,45 x 30,60 x 15,60 m in height.
