As I look at all these great young minds and their potential to shape the future of a lot of industries and lives, it always gets me thinking about the power of where people begin and how that defines their life missions. Almost everyone you will meet in life always has their own version of Started from the bottom ... story. The common thread that links all these people is that they know what they want and work really hard to get what they want with their lives. They speak BIG and celebrate success even before they have achieved them, because deep down in their hearts, they have a silent knowledge that it is their destiny to be great and nothing will silence that voice deep within them.

Adjusting To Campus Your first year in university can be a time filled with new and exciting experiences. Campus provides a time of socially recognized independence from parental rules & restrictions and going to campus is an obvious sanctioned move towards independence. he campus 'fresher' will be confronted with abundant pressures related to social situations — sex, drugs and alcohol. With respect to academics, students today are feeling increasing pressure to know what they want to do, pick a career path and plan for their futures. It can also challenge you in ways you may or may not expect. Students are often faced with having to balance their academic career with trying not to let "life" get in the way too much, yet...life
T
happens. How one juggles life events and academic requirements can affect one’s experience in university. This pressure may cause substance abuse, anxiety, depression or other concerns. Studies have shown that students who adjust well to their tertiary environment have better chances of performing well academically.
FRIENDS
Being away from family and friends can be difficult at first, especially since Campus is a big place and some people
may find it hard to make new friends straight away. The individual's usual sources of support are no longer present to help adjusting to the unfamiliar environment. However, campus is also a very friendly place offering many opportunities to meet new people:
How???
Working with others is one of the best ways to form friendships. Join a study group, a volunteering group or one of the hundreds of Students' Association societies such as the Christian Union (CU)
CAMPUS
MAG
Before committing to any one group or trend, you should take your time knowing other students, looking into various activities and deciding what makes them feel comfortable. Affiliations will change a great deal over the course of the first year as you become more knowledgeable and confident about your campus environment. Start up a conversation with the person sitting next to you at a lecture. The important thing for you to remember is to be yourself. Just be yourself...DON’T
pretend to be anybody you are NOT!!!
STUDIES
Working towards a degree can be daunting - so is anything actually worth working for. Adjusting to academic demands can be tricky and dont be afraid to talk to your career advisor or lecturer about any challenges you may be having understanding your course or the subject while starting out the course. Questions are encouraged and respected at University, so don't just answer them - ask them too!
ACCOMODATION
One of the most challenging experiences can be living with someone you know little or nothing about. Either way, living with anyone in a small space can be frustrating at times but often it turns out to be rewarding. Living together is more than just liking a person. It involves being able to talk, share ideas, tolerate and agree on how to handle situations. Having roommates can also be exciting and challenging. For instance, negotiating with respect to personal property, space, sleep, and relaxation needs can be a touchy affair. It is important to communicate your needs calmly, listening with respect to a roommate's concerns, and being willing to compromise to meet each other's needs. This will promote resolution of issues. It is not always necessary for people to agree on everything but it is crucial to understand and respect each other. After their first year, many students
Feature consider living off campus. This can be appealing for many reasons: privacy, independence, responsibility or even cost. But it also has its setbacks: isolation, transport issues and possibly increased cost. So before jumping right into offcampus housing, make sure you take these things into consideration. Remember to also think about your school’s housing program. If, after weighing the pros and cons, you decide you want to live off campus, there are several ways for you to find a good place to live. Check your college’s off-campus housing office, which most schools have, or with local real estate agents. You can also find listings online through various websites.
FINANCES
Taking control of your own finances Your new freedom might temp you to spend money on all the things your parents wouldn’t let you have before such as expensive designer clothes, alcohol and drugs. Be SELF-confident NOT LABELconfident. Your new independence will probably include being responsible for your money and spending. You will have your own bank account and ATM card, shop for your own food, and pay your own bills. The key to keeping your finances in order is to set a budget (and stick to it) . At the beginning of a month, estimate how much money you’ll receive and decide how you are going to spend it. Also keep track of how much you have in your account. Some students are also responsible for their tuition and housing costs and thus its imperative that you ensure that you have enough funds on time. Avoid non-academic debt. Focus on developing good money skills with cash. Don’t hang out with big spenders. Some students have parents with deep pockets. Others are well down the road to financial trouble. Hanging out with them can lead you to spend more than your parents can afford. When you want to buy something, ask your-self “Do I need it?” If you think you do, then wait. Dont buy on
impulse.
IN SUMMARY
Explore new interests, discover new places, meet new people outside campus in the suburbs and surounding towns. These experiences contribute to Campus life, but getting an education should remain the student's foremost purpose. Participate and prioritize. Dont do everything. When you narrow your focus, you will feel less overwhelmed. Finding a passion is one of the most exciting aspects of the Campus experience. Personalize the experience. It's easy to feel lost in the crowd. Get to know professors as it will personalize Campus and help you feel connected to an institution that may seem impersonal. Be patient. It takes time to understand the rhythm of a new academic life and to develop a personal learning/studying style. Over the time it becomes easier to understand the flow of work and realize how to accommodate various lecturers' standards and course requirements. Evaluate the fit. Assessing how expectations meet reality during the first year is a necessary process. Some disappointments or surprises are not unusual and may need some fine tuning, such as adjusting one's course load, changing courses and/or rethinking involvement in activities. Sometimes a school turns out to be different from what was anticipated or students learn more about what will truly suit their needs. Never ignore a problem . Both academic and emotional challenges are successfully managed earlier. Know where to turn for help. Almost all campuses provide a counseling and/or wellness center where students can seek confidential guidance and advice from a variety of sources. Ask about the services that are offered and make use of them. Sometimes just talking about a problem can make it more manageable, especially if the conversation is with an individual who is removed from the situation - e.g. a Campus counselor, dean or clergy.

That's because one of the worst culprits for this problem—a slow digestive system—is quite common among people. However, exciting research now suggests you can get your digestion moving and beat bloat with a few easy menu and lifestyle tweaks. Advice
M
ost students go to their internships with the objective of getting a recomendation letter and getting back
their daily school life. However, what most students don't realize is that other than adding work experience to your resume, internships also provide opportunities for future employment and also opportunities to impress your current boss who might offer you work as soon as you are done with your course work. In order to maximize on these opportunities, it is important to have a few things in mind that will not only help you nail that internship, but might also lead to future referrals and employment opportunities. Here are a few tips for Campus interns to help you nail the opportunity.
Go above and beyond. You’re probably a very driven person. After all, you landed this internship. However, now that you’re here, don’t slow down. Make a good impression on your co-workers by working on each assignment like it’s the most important one in your career. The hard work will pay off. Offer to do things you didn’t know you’d be doing. In short, suck it up. You’re an intern. You’re not going to be on the field right away. On those same lines, don’t groan or bemoan. You’re getting coffee for people, making copies, staring at the same page for hours. You’re frustrated, hurt. But you must not complain.

Set just months after the first Guardians movie, the gang are getting by as heroes for hire, living up to their reputation as troublemakers-turned-galactic saviours. But of course, word travels fast, and when they’re not making more trouble for themselves, trouble is now actively finding them. Rest assured that saving the universe hasn’t made them any smarter or more pious. If anything, it’s had the opposite effect. In keeping with the simplicity of its title, “Vol. 2” picks up relatively shortly after the end of the first film. Groot is still a baby, and the other four members of the Guardians are on a job for the Sovereign race, led by a golden woman named Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki). Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Baby Groot have to defend a valuable group of batteries from a monster called the Abilisk. They do so in exchange for a prisoner being held by the Sovereigns, Gamora’s evil sister Nebula (Karen Gillan).

HONORABLE 6 GOLD
HONOR 6 PLUS
If you’re the type of person who loves big screens, then you’d be happy to learn that the Honor 6 Plus was launched in Kenya a couple of months ago. If you didn’t know yet, the Honor is a sub-brand from Huawei that sells products in the European market.
Design The Honor 6 Plus is named as such because of its 5.5-inch screen. It offers Full HD resolution with a pixel density of 400 pixels per inch. If those figures sound familiar, it’s because that’s the same specifications as the iPhone 6 Plus. What’s unique about the Honor 6 Plus’ design is its outer shell. It looks great because there are six different layers on this phone’s shell, giving a sort of “3D pattern”, similar to the Huawei Ascend P7. Here’s the best part – the layers contribute to making the phone somewhat bulletproof. This is thanks to the inclusion of a fibreglass layer. We haven’t verified this claim, and we hope there would never come a time where you’d need to test this. Overall, the phone is sleek and feels very much like the high-end Huawei Ascend P8. Performance When it comes to performance, the Honor 6
Plus is powered by the Hisilicon Kirin 925 octa-core processor. With this processor on board, the phone performs extremely smoothly. There’s no noticeable lag when switching between multiple apps, and even in more demanding tasks, such as gaming, the phone had no trouble keeping up. As for its camera system, the Honor 6 Plus sports a dual-lens system. Thanks to this, the phone is able to capture night shots beautifully. Speaking of the camera system, the lens aperture goes as wide as f0.95 and as narrow as f16. What this means is that it’s capable of shooting in a variety of lighting scenarios. What’s impressive is that at f0.95, you’ll get photos with a shallow depth of field, akin to how a DSLR has “bokeh”. We’re happy to report that we’re very happy with the performance of this phone’s camera system.
Conclusion Priced at Ksh 25,000, the Honor 6 Plus is a smartphone that’s really worth considering. Equipped with an octa-core processor, a very impressive dual-lens camera system, and beautifully crafted, the only thing that’s against this phone, is the fact that it runs on Android 4.4.
