WOMEN have a passion for buying shoes.

They never feel bad about shopping. You cannot stop a woman from buying another pair of shoes no matter how many she already has. They want to get good shoes because dressing up is not enough to cast an impression on the people present in any event. Let us see how to choose the right shoes for various occasions. High Heels. For parties like engagements and weddings it is always recommended to wear high heels. Your elegant dressing style is incomplete without high heels. Try to match the color of the shoes with your dress. It is not necessary the shoes to be the same color, you can make a combination with your other accessories or a contrasting color as long as it looks good. Boots. During the cold season, boots are an essential. Knee high boots are a classic, but ankle boots and over-the-knee boots have also become popular in the last few years and are a great alternative. As far as ankle boots go, they are great for everyday wear, and ones with a little stacked heel are great for date nights, dressing up a pair of jeans, or wearing with a dress. Classic Pump. Okay, you cannot be a woman without a pair of classic pumps. They are the most versatile shoe in the entire world and are great for church, work, parties — you name it. They go with everything, so choose the color

They’re an essential for every woman’s closet. Flats. They’re a girl’s best friend because you can wear them with jeans, skirts, shorts, and dresses, all the while looking put together and feminine. If you’re a working woman, they’re a great option for the office when your feet need a rest from heels; they can still look professional and put together, but are much more comfortable. Main Feature When Maryanne Chebet* was 20, she had her dreams interrupted by an unplanned pregnancy. “Before all this happened, I wanted to be a chef,” says Maryanne, who dropped out of Utalii College halfway through her course. “I worked as a barista through campus.” When she discovered she was pregnant, she realized it was because she wasn’t using her birth control consistently. Since Maryanne had lost both of her parents, having a baby while in college was unrealistic, she said, adding, “I didn’t want to be a number in a statistic.” Maryanne felt unstable and needed to find her footing, so she left school.

Stigma, Guilt, Stress & Depression

As a matter of fact speaking, a lot of ladies report a significant number of long term effects associated with the pregnancy. Long term effects are those that last a year or more and the most prevalent of these effects are feelings of guilt and fear of being stigmatized for their experience. The guilt makes it difficult for them to associate with peers and family because the subject of pregnancy and abortion are discussed frequently and they tend to be used as the 'bad' examples of 'what happens when you are not careful'. The ladies fear being socially marked or stigmatized because of the pregnancy. They fear She is not alone. they will be judged negatively by their peers and family because of their pregnancy and/or I don't imagine I'd be in the wrong when I say no abortion. The guilt, shame, fear, and sense of words scare a guy in campus more than two stigma reported are not just individual attributes words - 'I'm pregnant' and nothing scares a lady but a reflection of wider social views about ladies' in campus more than a missed period or a responsibility for sexuality and reproduction. Most positive pregnancy test. 'Dread it. Run from it. ladies do not tell their families about their Destiny arrives all the same and now it's here'. experience. Circumstances that lead to this moment don't The majority of ladies reveal their situation to their matter as when it arrives, tough calls have to be partner and only one or two friends. Keeping the made that have a serious impact on lives and in situation a secret heightens the sense of isolation some cases, completely changing them for the and depression experienced by these ladies and better or for some, an uncertain future. as a result, most resort to the easier way out which is abortion using quack clinics and doctors A majority of students nowadays engage in sex who charge them exorbitant amounts to 'take generally with multiple partners and while many care' of the pregnancy. of them use contraception, there are also many who do not. Since students are engaging in intercourse and some are failing to use contraceptives properly or not using contraceptives at all, it is not surprising that they report either experiencing or being involved in an unplanned pregnancy. It is important to note that most people who become pregnant do not do so as a result of a casual sexual encounter. Most of them actually do so within the context of a committed relationship and this runs counter to the stereotype that campus ladies become pregnant as a result of careless, "one night stands." From the onset of a pregnancy, most people go into panic mode. Young boy's who receive the wrong advice from their peers or want to maintain a certain reputation within their circles usually do a complete 1 80 degree turn and disown not only the lady and the pregnancy. This can be quite disheartening and in as much as most of them come to their senses later, the emotional damage done can be quite significant and affect the lady for years to come.

CampusMag 13

Main Feature Elephant in the room The issue of unplanned pregnancy on campus is rarely discussed and the ladies who experience this do not usually feel safe enough on campus to come forward to seek help. They suffer personal anguish and this often has negative academic impacts. Universities need to create safe environments for these ladies to disclose their experience and find ways in which to help them to only continue their studies but also to live a rich and fulfilling life as a young parent. Families and friends of people who experience an unplanned pregnancy can assist their loved one by expressing emotional support and being cautious about the judgmental things they say about pregnancy and abortion. Despite being conceived within a committed relationship, most people who get pregnant tend to see the pregnancy as something that is their responsibility. Though getting an unplanned pregnancy on campus is not all that bad. Some people experience a developmental process in their response to the unplanned pregnancy, moving from a position of irresponsibility to a position of responsibility. They find themselves planning more of their schedules, activities and free time towards raising their beautiful child and find tend to start looking for work experience earlier which makes them quite marketable professionally by the time they're through with school. The Reality of Abortion In layman terms, abortion is defined as the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus at a stage of pregnancy before it is capable of independent survival (500g or 22 weeks gestation). Not a procedure any woman would happily go through, an abortion involves tonnes of pain, often times regret, and more often than not, a sense of moral uncertainty. However, it is a means for a woman to protect her body, mind and for some, her livelihood. Regardless of the decision and reasons behind it, dealing with an unexpected pregnancy requires both rational thought and a leap of faith. Too Young For Motherhood Lavender was only 1 9 when she found out she was pregnant. It happened towards the end of her first year in university. In shock and incredibly nervous, her thoughts were all over the place. She placed the blame on herself for being naĂŻve and careless in trusting her now ex-boyfriend too much to the point of engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse. A couple of hours after finding out she was pregnant, Lavender found herself in a clinic. She was going to exercise her option on motherhood. Alone in the cold office, an unexpected ambivalence arose in her, as she realized that the only company she had was that

of her microscopic fetus. Before she could change her mind though, a nurse approached her and told her to clear her bowel movement before the procedure could be done. When that was done, she was given anesthetics and when she awoke, the procedure was done. The only thing she remembered was the faint sound of a vacuum and a gentle suction action. Till this day, her family remains in the dark over the entire matter.

Main Feature Note that during this period, you'll begin asking if you have the means to keep the child, or whether adoption is for the best. For many of the women who undergo this procedure, the Questions whether if you keet the child, will you be able to memory and pain attached to it remain for the rest of their lives. support the child financially, or would it completely tear you & After the abortion, Lavender had some trouble coping your family apart? If you give your child up for adoption, would mentally. For a few years, she admitted to beating herself up for you be able to live not keeping the baby. Feeling utterly worthless, she could not with yourself not knowing the whereabouts of your own flesh forgive herself for committing such an unjustifiable act. Slowly, and blood? happiness and love ceased to exist in her dictionary as she was increasingly haunted by a sense of unworthiness. Flashbacks of Hope is a Powerful Medicine the abortion For those who are faced with an unplanned pregnancy, In any would regularly pay her visits, to the point where she would circumstances, please consider counseling in order to be break down and cry at the thought of her actions. In fact, support is all around you, even in physical contact. As much as she strived to move past her places, people or moments you least expect. There is always mistakes, Lavender admits that she is still thinking about her counseling support or shelter. A Pain That Lasts a Lifetime

A Heartfelt Plea to Other Women

Here is a note from Lavender for those who are contemplating abortion: Bear in mind that there are always other women to speak to. They are the people who know what it was like and how it feels. Always talk to someone about it (be it your partner or your close friends) and never undergo this alone or the consequences WILL haunt you later on. Think hard, avoid making a rash decision and be certain of what you really want to do. If you're independent and financially stable, there is no reason why the baby should be aborted. However, if circumstances do not allow for the baby to grow up in a decent environment, perhaps it’s best to think of the alternative.

Two Sides to Every Coin

Where do you stand when it comes to the issue of abortion? On one side there are those who call themselves “pro-choice” and who regard intentional abortion as acceptable in some circumstances. On the other side are those who recognize themselves as “pro-life” and believe that human life begins at conception. If abortion is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being, does it mean a fetus’ right to life outweighs the mother’s right to control her own body? Well, we will leave you to ponder upon this controversial topic that will always rest within a grey area lacking an absolute right or wrong judgment call.

GEOTHERMALSPA

STEAMING AT OLKARIA

The KenGen Olkaria Geothermal Spa is located inside Hell's Gate National Park which is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). Hell's Gate is very massive and has several entrances so you have to be very particular the gate you’ll use.

If you’re using personal means, you’ll have to drive towards Oserian Town from Naivasha. Just before you reach Oserian, there’s a road that leads directly to the KenGen Power Plant. If you plan on using PSVs, board the Oserian Matatus from Naivasha town (fare is roughly Ksh. 80-1 00). Ask to be dropped off at the Ol Karia stage. Pick a motorbike to the KWS entrance (This should cost you Ksh. 50-1 00) or more depending on your bargaining skills.

Words : Anne Kimani

Now that you are at the gate; you’ll need to pay the standard KWS park entry fees. For Kenyan Citizens you’ll have to part with Ksh. 350 for adults and 250 for children. (The KWS park entry fees vary depending on the location of a park. The first thing that catches your attention as you walk towards the poolside is the breath-taking view of the expansive main pool with the hills and towers of steam that seem to fuse with the clouds in the background. The adult pool is massive, and save for the tiny rock island at the centre, you’d think it was a mini-lake. If you have little ones with you, don’t worry as there’s a baby pool and playground equipment to cater for them.

All the pools are made entirely out of steel trowelled concrete. This is because the water here has natural minerals and cannot allow for the use of ceramic tiles. There are 4 steps all round to allow the people to sit down and bask in the warm water. The deepest part of the pool is only 1.5 metres deep.Yes, I see all ye deep-end phobic folks breathing a sigh of relief. The water feels heavenly on the skin. It is almost as if you’re floating in an endless bathtub in some tucked away heaven, staring at the hills and the clear skies. The Ol Karia Spa is the largest natural Spa in the continent making KenGen the first ever company to optimize the use of geothermal resources by creating an alternative income generation project other than power generation. The water in the spa is all natual and there are no artificial additives or treatments done to it

The spa is five feet deep and 3,600 square metres wide. It cost $300,000 (Sh30 million) to put up it’s three cascading blue lagoons, including the kid’s pool. The pool has brine water (a solution of sodium chloride, salt and water) which passes through the pipes at 1 50ºC, but cooled twice to 60ºC then 30ºC by the time it reaches the pool? For health buffs, the sulphur in the water is good for the skin after undergoing hydrotherapy sessions. Indeed, the sulphur and silica minerals in the water that gushes underground can cure psoriasis (silvery skin scales), fibromyalgia (bodily pain) and arthritis. Plans are underway to have cottages around the hills overlooking the spa for those who want to stay overnight.

TRAVEL NOTES

The restaurant does not yet serve food during weekdays; only weekends. You can carry your own food. Remove all copper ornaments before taking a deep into the water, as the sulphur will surely change their colour if worn while inside the spa. There’s a conference facility here as well (for those who want to hold meetings here for some weird reason). The pool closes at 6PM. Make sure you carry your Identification documents to avoid inconveniences. Lastly, since you’re paying for both the park and the spa, obtain full value for your money by exploring the park first then finishing off with a dip at the Spa.

N IO T P E C A R T N O C If you're having sex, make sure you're protecting yourself from unwanted pregnancy ...

Can you get pregnant on birth control? There is no form of birth control that is 1 00% effective, so it is possible to get pregnant while using most types of birth control. However, many types of birth control, when used correctly, are highly effective in preventing pregnancy. For example, the birth control pill is over 99% effective in preventing pregnancy when taken correctly. For all forms of birth control it is important to have a basic understanding how they work and how to use them correctly.

Words : Carol Musyoka

ontraception refers to the birth control methods that are used to prevent pregnancy. They can be broadly classified into barrier methods (that prevent sperm cells from reaching the egg), methods that prevent ovulation such as the birth control pill, and methods that allow fertilization of the egg but prevent implantation of the fertilized egg inside the uterus (womb) such as the IUD (intrauterine device).

and benefits, along with the effectiveness of each method before choosing a contraceptive method. A thorough and open discussion with a health care-professional can help in this decision process. Different forms of contraceptives have different side effects and risk profiles. ASKED SEX QUESTIONS

FAQS

Listen, there is nothing shameful about asking questions about your body and sex life, but TONS of people end up turning to Google for answers. We sample some of the most frequently asked questions regarding sex and give you answers before you even figure out how to frame the question to Google.

Q

How do I kiss?

Lean in, tilt your head (in the opposite direction of your kissing partner), close your eyes (or don’t), touch lips, pull back, touch lips again. You’re kissing. If you're still unsure of how to

Q

Why does it hurt when I have sex?

Probably this question is really about intercourse, and probably it’s the receiving partner — the one whose vagina(or anus) is being inserted into — who’s asking it.There are three main reasons for pain with vaginal or anal intercourse. The first is insufficient lubrication, especially an issue with anal sex — you MUST use lube for this activity. Not enough lubrication results in friction and pain. The second is insufficient arousal. The body reacts to arousal with blood flow to the genitals (that’s where erections come from), and arousal changes the sensations of genital touch and insertion and helps them feel more pleasurable. For women, the clitoris, not generally inside the vagina, is the focal point of physical arousal. The third is size, especially penis length, since some women find it very painful when a long penis hits their cervix during intercourse. There are some health problems that might also result in pain, but these three are definitely the most common issues.

Q

How long does sex last?

This varies greatly depending on the age of participants as well as the amount of time and energy they have available. ‘Too short’ is 1 -2 minutes, ‘Adequate’ is 3-7 minutes, ‘Desirable’ is 7-1 5 minutes and ‘Too long’ is around 30+ minutes. These numbers are for intercourse, not for foreplay, fooling around, kissing, or anything else associated.

Q

Can you get pregnant during your period?

Technically, no — the time a woman is fertile is mostly limited to a few days each month in the middle of the menstrual cycle, meaning about two weeks from when she started her last period. That said, women may have bleeding during their cycle that is not a true period. If a woman, for example, has irregular periods and has some breakthrough bleeding, she may think it’s her period and still become pregnant if she has sex during that

22 CampusMag

HAVING AN ORGASM DURING SEX IS ABOUT FIGURING OUT WHAT MAKES YOU ORGASM IN THE FIRST PLACE. FOR SOME THIS COMES EASILY WHILE FOR OTHERS NOT SO MUCH. IT IS NOT HOWEVER USUALLY A WORTHWHILE GOAL AS IT USUALLY REQUIRES A FAIR AMOUNT OF LOGISTICS

Q

How do I make sure I orgasm during sex?

If this question means how does a woman make sure she has an orgasm during sex, then it’s about a woman figuring out what makes her have an orgasm and how to incorporate that into sexual activity with her partner. This comes easily for some women and not so easily for others. We live in a culture where women are often more comfortable with romantic thoughts and less so with sexual thoughts that may be more effective in leading to arousal and orgasm. When orgasm doesn’t occur easily or naturally for a woman, I suggest sexual fantasizing, masturbation or use of a stimulator such as a vibrator. If you can do it on your own, it’s often easier to graduate to doing it with a partner. If the question means how to make sure to have an orgasm during penile sexual intercourse, that’s a tougher question. I would suggest that this is not a worthwhile goal, at least all the time, as it could require a fair amount of logistics; nothing wrong with taking turns.

Q

Does penis size matter?

Like anything, it may matter to some people, like being thin or having a nice car might matter to some people when they choose a partner. Depending on how much certain looks matter to an individual, penis size might be considered too big or too small. It certainly seems to matter to some men for bragging rights and for the amount they trash talk about it. It may also matter for some men and women in terms of how a certain size penis feels during intercourse. Penis size does not matter in terms of ability to have an orgasm or being able to get a woman pregnant.

Advice

Q

First, consider getting tested for STDs if you were using it to prevent them. If you’re concerned about getting pregnant, there are two most effective ways to prevent it, explained here in order of effectiveness from most to least: Go to your health provider (doctor or nurse) and have a copper IUD inserted. This is about 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy after a condom breaks. It can also be used for up to the next 1 0 years for contraception, if desired. You can do this five to seven days after the condom breaks. Visit your health provider and ask for a prescription for P2 - or ECEE 2, EMCON, TRUSTON 2 and LEVO-72 (ulipristal acetate). They come as two pills that are effective in preventing pregnancy (less so than the copper IUD but more than Plan B). You can do this up to 3 days after the condom breaks. preferably, take one as soon as possible and another in 1 2 hours. It's more effective than taking all of them at once.

Q

Can P2 cause cancer?

This is a question many have been and are still debating, so here is what is currently known. P2 can protect women against cancers of the endometrium, ovary, pancreas, and lung, but increase their risk for breast cancer. That has been documented and listed as a fact. Also the drug is meant to be only be taken once every menstrual cycle. This means you can only take it once every month at most. Taking it more often will upset your hormones and lead to hormonal imbalance disorders including but not limited to acne.

Q

I think I'm watching too much porn?

It is very hard to say how much porn is 'too much porn' as this depends on the person. Some people watch porn regurlarly and some people never watch it. However, if it is affecting your relationship or you think it is having a negative effect in other parts of your life, then you should speak to someone you trust to get some advice.

Q Q

EXPERIMENTATION IS A WAY TO ASSESS YOUR OWN GROWTH AND DEVELOP YOUR SEXUAL UNDERSTANDING

What do I do when the condom breaks?

How much is too much masturbation?

Too much masturbation is hard to define and is unlikely to negatively impact someone’s sex life.

I want to have casual sex. Is this OK?

Casual sex means having sex with someone you're not in a relationship with. There are lots of societal ideals about casual sex and what is considered right and wrong. Society is often more judgemental on women who choose to have casual sex than men who choose to have casual sex. In short, if you and your partner want to have sex and yo both consent, then do what akes you happy. Make sure that you communicate with your partner-simply consenting does not mean you can't change your mind later and remember. If you're drunk or high you can't consent.

Q

I dont know which method of contraception to use?

Q

How do I know if someone’s conduct will qualify as “unwelcome”?

Not many people know that there are 1 5 different types of contraception available. It can really help to talk through your options with a doctor or health professional such as a nurse to make sure that you have all the infromation you need to decide which mehod is right.

In general, unwelcome sexual conduct may be, but is not limited to, any of the following acts or behaviors that are not explicitly invited by the recipient: unwanted sexual advances, subtle or overt pressure for sexual activity, unnecessary or unwanted touching, stalking, sexually suggestive displays, deliberate molestations, demands for sexual favors, promises of gifts in exchange for sex, lurid telephone calls, obscene messages and e-mails, or being improperly followed or watched by an instructor, employer or peer.

Q

What is sexual assault?

Sexual assault is a criminal act. It occurs when an individual is forced, threatened or coerced into sexual contact against his or her free will or without his or her consent. Sexual assault may include date or acquaintance rape, sexual molestation, unwanted sexual touching or having sexual contact with a person while knowing or having reason to know that the person is incapacitated in some way (i.e., due to drugs or alcohol). Sexual assault is one of the most extreme forms of sexual harassment. A person should seek and obtain unmistakable, clear consent from the other person before engaging in any form of sexual activity or behavior.

Q

I identify as straight, but sometimes I think about people of the same sex. Am I gay?

Experimentation is norml and is much more common than you may think. Not everyone experiments in this way but a lot of people do. You may be curious about the same sex and want to try it. You may be attracted to both males and females or you may just be really into someone! Experimentation is a way to assess your own growth and develop your sexual understanding. Experimenting with someone of the same sex doesn't necessarily make you gay or bisexual

Chill Spot After Thanos activates the completed Infinity Gauntlet, Clint Barton's family disintegrates, along with half of all life across the universe. Nebula and Tony Stark are stranded in space following their defeat by Thanos on Titan, but are returned to Earth by Carol Danvers and reunited with Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Rocket, Thor, and James Rhodes. The team formulates a plan to steal the Infinity Stones back from Thanos and use them to reverse his actions, but learn upon finding him that he had used the stones a second time to destroy them, preventing their further use. In anger, Thor cuts off Thanos's head. Five years later, Scott Lang escapes from the quantum realm to discover that his daughter Cassie is now a teenager and that Hope van Dyne has disappeared in the snap. Lang goes to Romanoff and Rogers, and explains that while five years had passed for them, only five hours had passed for him in the quantum realm. The three go to Stark and explain their theory that the quantum realm can be used to go back in time and steal the Infinity Stones before Thanos is able to collect them. Stark initially rejects their proposal with concern about risking his family and the peace he has found, but after reflecting upon the loss of Peter Parker decides to test theoretical models that would work with Lang's quantum tunnel, eventually finding one that works. With Stark now on board with the plan, the remaining Avengers set out to reassemble their team. Bruce Banner has now embraced the Hulk as a part of him, and has melded his own consciousness and the Hulk's together into one. Romanoff goes to Japan to track Clint down. After some convincing from Natasha, he agrees to rejoin the team in order to try and bring his family back. Banner and Rocket go to New Asgard, where Valkyrie and the last survivors of Asgard have settled. They there find Thor, who has become majorly overweight, his hair and beard are overgrown, and he spends his free time eating junk food, getting drunk, and playing Fortnite with his friends Korg and Miek. Thor begrudgingly agrees to return to the Avengers. After testing the quantum time machine on Barton, The Avengers are reunited with a plan Banner, Rogers, Lang, and Stark embark to retrieve the Time, Mind, and Space stones during the battle of New York in 201 2. Banner goes to the Sanctum Sanctorum, where he is informed by the Ancient One that taking the

Time Stone from her time line would prevent Stephen Strange's future efforts to stop Kaecilius from destroying the laws of nature. She eventually concedes the Time Stone to Banner after he informs her that Strange had given Thanos the stone in his time line, implying Strange had intended for a specific sequence of events to occur for Thanos to be defeated. Banner also promises the stones' return to their proper time lines in order to prevent any ill effects. Lang and Stark attempt to steal the Space Stone after the Avengers confiscate it from Loki. Lang gives Stark's past self a cardiac arrest by pulling a circuit in his artificial heart, while Stark steals the briefcase housing the Tesseract when nobody is looking. Their plan is thwarted when Stark drops the briefcase after he is accidentally hit by the Hulk. Loki then steals the Space Stone and uses it to escape custody. Rogers succeeds in stealing the Mind Stone from undercover Hydra agents, but stumbles across his past self, who mistakes him for a disguised Loki. After defeating past-Steve, Rogers meets back up with Stark and Lang, who now must figure out another way to get the Space Stone without running out of the limited supply of Pym Particles that allow them to travel through the quantum realm. Lang returns to the present with the Mind Stone while Rogers and Stark devise a plan to steal the Space Stone from a U.S. Army installation in the 1 970s, while stealing further vials of Pym Particles in order to make the journey back home. While there, Rogers sights Peggy Carter and Stark has an meaningful conversation with his father Howard. Rocket and Thor travel to Asgard to retrieve the Reality Stone before Malekith uses it against the nine realms. Rocket steals the Reality Stone from Jane Foster. The two return to Earth after Thor and he retrieves his hammer Mjolnor, elated to discover that he is still worthy of it. Nebula and Rhodes travel to Morag to steal the Power Stone before Peter Quill does. As Rhodes returns to the present with the Power Stone, Nebula malfunctions and remains on Morag. Thanos and Ebony Maw discover the presence of future Nebula and go to kidnap her. Nebula realizes what has happened and tries to warn the others, but is too late. Thanos scans her memories and discovers the Avengers' plan, and sends the more loyal past Nebula back to the present as a spy. Barton and Romanoff travel to Vormir to retrieve the Soul Stone, though are conflicted when Red Skull, keeper of the Soul Stone, informs them that the stone can only be retrieved by sacrificing someone they love. The two fight over which will make

the sacrifice, with Romanoff ultimately taking the fall, while a distraught Barton returns to Earth with the Soul Stone. After everyone has returned to Earth, Stark, Rocket, and Banner craft a gauntlet to wield the stones. Banner, reasoning that he can withstand both the radiation poisoning and the immense pain brought on by using the stones uses the stones to bring everyone back, though they are almost immediately attacked by Thanos, who has been brought to Earth by the impostor Nebula, destroying the quantum portal in the process. Thanos reduces the Avengers headquarters to rubble, splitting the team up and causing the gauntlet to fall into Barton's protection. The past Nebula is killed by her future self as she attempts to take the Infinity Stones from Barton, while Rogers, Thor, and Stark confront Thanos. The three fight Thanos one on one, with Rogers confirming Thor's theory that he is worthy of wielding Mjolnor, but are each bested by Thanos. Soon after Thanos' army lands on Earth, T'Challa appears before Rogers, along with all of the Avengers and other allies revived by Banner, before launching an assault on Thanos and his army. After a lengthy battle during which Stark is reunited with Parker and Quill is reunited with past Gamora, Thanos wrestles with numerous Avengers for the Infinity Stones. Captain Marvel reappears, taking out Thanos's ship while fighting for control of the gauntlet. Stark maneuvers the Infinity Stones from Thanos' hand to his own and uses them to turn Thanos and his entire army into dust, triumphantly stating "I am Iron Man." Parker and Potts console Stark as he dies from overexposure to the Stones. Following the battle, The Avengers hold a funeral for Stark, whose original arc reactor is floated out on the lake next to his house. Barton and Wanda Maximoff take solace in the fact that Romanoff and Vision would be proud of their victory over Thanos. Thor makes Valkyrie the Queen of Asgard and joins the Guardians of the Galaxy in order to find his true purpose. Barton returns home to his family and Parker returns to school. Rogers is tasked to go into the past to return the stones and Thor's hammer to their original time lines, but decides not to return to the present and to instead live the rest of his life in the past with Carter. He appears before Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as an old man, and passes his shield and the mantle of Captain America on to Wilson.

Phone Review GOLD

MOTOR0LA ONE

Review By : Daniel Masila

Motorola is a brand that the oldies clearly remember. If you can remember the adverts way back then for the Motorola RAZR with the big celebs of our day, the competitions on various comics like supa strikas, or even more nostalgic, the catchphrase ”HELLO MOTO” , then you can without a doubt know that Motorola is a brand known to produce really stunning phones. The Motorola one is no exception. They have not been in the limelight of late, but just like Nokia, there is reason to believe that Motorola is making a comeback as a major industry player in the phone market. Can this phone help Motorola win back people’s hearts? Let’s see. Design The P30 play has a sweet design, focus being on sleekness and a sort of minimalistic feel to the overall look and feel of the phone. It’s made of plastic on the back, and has a plastic silver coated frame while the display upfront is a Gorilla glass variant, unspecified version. The phone is also surprisingly very light due to its all plastic build,oh , and chances are, you will confuse the back for glass as it is really shiny and glossy. It also has a fingerprint sensor at the back that carries Motorola’s really good looking logo. This phone really looks great. The phone also comes with a USB C port with quick charge, a feature you should never miss on your phone for obvious reasons. The headphone jack is also present at the top. Display. Let’s get it out there, this phone has a notch inspired by the IPhone’snotch. It’s a big one but doesn’t hold as much as the likes of iPhone X, or X’s. The front earpiece, front camera, proximity sensor and the front LED flash is what you’ll find on the notch. At the bottom is a chin with the Motorola name. The IPS LCD this phone packs is a 720p screen with a 227ppi density. Not much of a colour vibrant screen. The

30 CampusMag

brightness isn’t much to brag about especially in the outdoors. The 5.9 inches this screen packs is good for video consumption as it offers alot of screen real estate for specifically that. The screen is ok, not really amazing but it’s ok. Camera The main camera is a 1 3 megapixel camera together with a 2 megapixel camera that is there for collecting depth data for potrait mode. The front camera is an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The main camera does really well especially in bright light, with sharpness being really clear. The photos are really good if you are looking at social media. It also has a small trick up it’s sleeve, Cinemagraph. This is how it works. The phone takes a couple of photos of the same scene, and you choose an area where you wanna see movement. The result, a gif where one part of the pic is moving while the rest remains perfectly still. The front selfie is also great but I wouldn’t recommend it at night. The camera can also record in 4K video with really good EIS. Memory. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 that clocks 2.0 GHz, really good speeds, while the GPU is an Adreno 506. The phone is powerful, most likely

won’t hang, not just because of the processor, but taking that and pairing it with the lightweight software that is stock android. The phone is an android one phone and so runs on the latest software. No lags here. It comes with a solid 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal memory, if this isn’t enough, it’s expandable to 256 GB. The storage is sufficient, no stress here.

SPECIFICATIONS

5.9” 720P screen with notch 1 3MP +2MP main camera 8MP selfie camera with flash 4GB RAM 3000 mAh battery

PROS

Android one, so latest software Good solid camera especially video recording. USB C, quick charge and quick data transfer.

CONS

Recipes Simple Meat Pies using Bread Who says pies have to be so difficult to make? Here’s a very easy way of making a great snack using a few slices of bread and cooked minced meat as a filling.

-Ingredients 2 tbsp oil

400 gms minced meat 1 tsp ginger, chopped 1 tsp green chillies, chopped 1 tsp coriander cumin powder 1 /2 tsp garam masala Salt to taste 1 large onion, chopped 1 /4 cup chopped coriander leaves White Bread 2 tbsp plain flour mixed with 4 tbsp water, as a glue Oil, for deep frying

-Instructions

1. In a pot, heat oil and add the minced meat. Use a wooden spoon to break the meat apart as it cooks. Once browned, add the ginger and green chillies and cook for 1 -2 minutes.

2. Add the coriander cumin powder, garam masala and salt and stir. Turn off the flame and then add the onions and coriander leaves. Stir and set aside to cool down. 3. In the mean time, take a slice of bread and place it flat on a chopping board. Slice off the 4 edges of the bread and then roll the bread flat using a rolling pin. This won't work with bread that has sat there for awhile and dried so make sure it is fresh bread. 4. Once flat, scoop some of the minced meat in the center of one slice of the bread. Apply the "glue" paste on the edges and then top with the second slice of bread. Press it down at the edges and seal by pressing it down at the edges with a fork. 5. Deep fry the pies for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Serve.

Soya & Rice This Soya & Rice with some peas is a delicious alternative to non-vegetarian rice dishes! Give it a try, you never would have thought soya could taste this good.

-Ingredients

1 50 grams soya chunks 2 cups water 2 tbsp oil 1 tbsp cumin seeds 2 cinnamon sticks 1 -2 bay leaves 3-4 cloves 1 -2 green chillies, chopped 1 tsp garlic, minced 1 medium onion, chopped 1 /2 tsp turmeric powder 1 /2 cup frozen peas 1 large potato, cut into 1 inch cubes Salt to taste 1 1 /2 cups Daawat Basmati Rice, cooked

-Instructions 1. Soak the soya chunks in water for 1 0 minutes. 2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and cloves and fry for 1 -2 minutes. 3. Add green chilies, garlic, onions and let cook for another 1 -2 minutes. 4. Add turmeric powder, peas and potatoes, and season with salt. 5. Squeeze the water out from the soya chunks and stir. Let cook on a low flame for 1 2-1 5 minutes until the potatoes have cooked. 6. Mix in the rice and stir until the rice is heated through.

What Are Some of Things That Affect Campus Students?

For those of you in campus, chances are there are numerous things that affect you more than you actually gave thought to initially before joining campus. Now, you can imagine how many other people there are like you who are affected by the same issues in campuses around the country and just want to talk about it. Our writer, Fred Wanjohi took a look at the issue a bit more from your perspective and asked a few students what are some of the things that affect you most in campus.

Speaking from experience, what really affected me was bad company, missing classes to be with older friends with much more campus experience. This lead to really bad results since I used to miss CATS which would add up to me failing my end of semester exams. But experience is a good teacher. At least I got to learn and know the people I should hung out with and to always put my education first.

I think as a student what affects us so much as students is peer pressure. Especially freshermen who have come to this new world where there is no much supervision from teachers like high school so they end up trying new things like drugs just because of pressure from peers. Most students also try to live an expensive life like their peers so they end up using the money that that their parents have given them for school fees.

Life inexperience probably could be the biggest challenge that faces campus students. Every student out here wants to have money to have fun but don’t know how to get it this leads to other students dating older people for money or as we like to call them “sponsors some of them end up getting impregnated which could lead them to dropping out. Institutions should take initiative to give life and guidance and counseling.

Personally what experience as a campus student is lack of finance sometimes as a young lady I want to go out with my girls and enjoy myself in the mall or party but the amount of money given to me by my parents is just not enough. Another thing is money management some of people in campus do not know how to spend their money wisely.
