‘Van man’ set for long stretch FORMER Tenerife resident Andrew Logan, known locally as Andy Van Man, was this week found guilty on seven counts of sexual activity involving a girl under the age of 13.
The well-known man was arrested in Tenerife in May 2015 and flown by police to Madrid to answer an extradition warrant issued by the UK authorities. After a swift hearing, he was transferred into the custody of British police officers and, on 30th June was charged with four counts of sex-
ual assault of a female child under 13. He was also charged with two counts of cause/incite a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and one count of engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of a child aged under 13. The trial began on 12th January and, after le-
gal arguments, the jury was sworn in the following day. There were two days of witness testimonies before closing arguments. The jury retired to consider its verdict on Monday, and the following morning they found Logan guilty on all counts. All the crimes were Continued on page 3.
