Background or Significant of the Project
Rorschach inkblot test is a psychological test to allow the person to project his or her thought freely by looking at inkblots card. The 10 cards of Rorschach inkblots were using Klecksography; a technique to make an image by dropped ink onto a paper and folded in half to create a mirrored effect, to create a beautiful abstract art form of black, grey and colored inks. The method introduced by Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach (1884-1922) in 1921 to access cognition, personality and psychological conditions of the patients influenced by Szyman Hens’s inkblot card and Carl Jung’s emotionally associations. Unrecognizable form or Abstract form created a space of freedom for artist and audience to express their emotion and to appreciate artwork unconditionally as same as Rorschach inkblot test. This project will represent a concept of Rorschach inkblot test in a contemporary way.
