Sailing is an ancient tradition and there are several skippers born and raised in the various Garda clubs, who participated and still participate in the Olympic competitions in the various classes; some famous regattas are the Centomiglia of Gargnano (BS) and the Riva Intervela. The "Homerus" project originated here, the independent sailing activity for the blind, involving boats with two-colored sails, antique brown at the top and white at the bottom, with visually impaired people at the helm. Underwater diving allows you to observe and photograph safe treasures stored in the depths of the lake, such as warships or old galleys dating back to the period of Venetian domination. This activity is possible in Assenza-Brenzone, Desenzano, Lido di Lonato, Manerba, Moniga, Riva, Salò and Torri del Benaco. Many other sports can be practiced, such as water skiing and wakeboarding, which blends water-ski with the snowboard, the Banana Boat, for group rentals with large yellow banana boats, towed with speedboats. You may try the unique emotion of Parafly, in most of the territory around the lake, parachuting to the sea, between the sky and the earth, taking off and landing from the motorboat’s platform or towing boat. The hinterland offers a variety of landscapes, fascinating routes for mountain bikers and horse-riding enthusiasts and for hikers through the hills or excursions to the nearby mountains, birdwatching and photographic hunting. as Autorennen auf der schönsten und berühmtesten Straße der Welt, im Jahr 1927 begonnen und als kompetitives Rennen 1957 beendet, startet jedes Jahr in Brescia und verläuft entlang der Regionalstraße 11 Padana Superiore (SR 11) durch die Städte Desenzano und Sirmione am Gardasee, fährt danach durch Valeggio sul Mincio und Mantua und erreicht durch bezaubernde italienische Landschaften Rom, um danach wieder nach Brescia zurückzufahren. Eine einzigartige kompetitive Veranstaltung, die mit Hilfe von Renzo Castagneto von Graf Aymo Maggi gestaltet und organisiert wird und die legendäre Rennfahrer wie Campari, Nuvolari, Caracciola, Varzi, Biondetti, Marzotto, Ascari, Moss, Villoresi, Castellotti und Taruffi am Steuer von Autos triumphieren sah, die wahre Kunstwerke sind, wie zum Beispiel der Sieger des Jahres 1927, ein OM 665 Sport und die zahlreichen Alfa Romeo, darunter die 6C 1500 und 1750 SS, die 8C 2300 Spider, die 8C 2900A, die 8C 2900B MM und Berlinetta und die “P3”, sowie der BMW 328 Berlinetta, der Merceds-Benz SSKL und 300 SLR und der Lancia D24 Spider. Ein Rennen, das auch von tragischen Ereignissen geprägt wurde. Im Jahr 1938 fuhr ein Lancia Appia in der Nähe von Bologna in die Menschenmenge und tötete zehn Zuschauer. Benito Mussolini, der damals italienischer Regierungschef war, beschloss nach diesem dramatischen Ereignis, keine Erlaubnis mehr für das Autorennen auf öffentlichen Straßen zu erteilen. Zwischen 1941 und 1946 fand das Rennen wegen des Kriegs nicht statt. Im Jahr 1947 kehrt die Mille Miglia mit ihrem Start in Brescia am 21. Juni, um 14.00 Uhr zu neuem Glanz zurück. he most famous and exciting car race in the world took place for the first time in 1927 and ended as a Grand Prix competition in 1957. It started from Brescia, winding along the SR11 Padana Superiore, went through Desenzano and Sirmione on Lake Garda heading towards Valeggio sul Mincio and Mantua down through the breath-taking Italian countryside as far as Rome, making a loop and going back to Brescia. A unique sports event conceived and organized by Count Aymo Maggi with Renzo Castagnetta it saw the triumph of racing legends such as Campari, Nuvolari, Caracciola, Varzi, Biondetti, Marzotto, Ascari , Moss, Villoresi, Castellotti and Taruffi driving cars which were well and truly works of art just like the first winner, an OM 665 Sport and many Alfa Romeo vehicles – the 6C 1500 and the 1750 SS, the 8C 2300 Spider, the 8C 2900A, the 8C 2900B MM and Berlinetta, and the "P3, as well as the Bmw 328 Berlinetta, the Mercedes-Benz SSKL and 300 SLR, and the

In der Klosteranlage Santa Eufemia della Fonte aus dem Jahr 1008 in Brescia, befindet sich das Museum der Mille Miglia, das 2004 mit der Ausstellung vieler der schönsten und berühmtesten Autos des Rennens eröffnet wurde. Im Film von Federico Fellini Amarcord aus dem Jahr 1973 beziehen sich einige Szenen auf das italienische Rennen und Lucio Dalla hat mit einem Lied dem schönsten Autorennen der Welt gewürdigt. The last grand Prix took place in 1957. A terrible accident caused by a burst tyre happened on the straight road near Guidizzolo, in the province of Mantua, and took the life of the Spanish Ferrari driver Alfonso de Portago as well as that of his navigator, the American Edmund Gurner Nelson and of nine spectators. The most exciting and fascinating race in the world was over, once and for all. But its myth will never die and nowadays a non-competitive reliability trial takes place in remembrance of that daring race. In 2018 it will take place on May 16 –from Brescia the cars will drive through Desenzano and Sirmione. This will be an occasion not to be missed. The monastery of Santa Eufemia della Fonte, dating back to year 1000, is now the Museo delle Mille Miglia which opened in 2004. Here are displayed many of the beautiful and famous cars that took part in the race. Fellini’s 1973 film Amarcord showed some scenes of the Mille Miglia and Lucio Dalla wrote a song as a homage to the most exciting race in the world. (Filippo Luciano)

Punta Larici Ein Balkon am See, der einen Besuch wert ist

ür die Liebhaber der Natur und der atemberaubenden Schauspiele, ist hier Punta dei Larici, im Teil von Trento, an der oberen Spitze des Gardasees. Die Strecke ist für alle 3,5 km lang, über einen Höhenunterschied von 370 m, die in weniger als einer Stunde absolviert werden kann. Man startet bei der Kirche von Pregasina und folgt der Forststraße bis Malga Larici (wo es einen Hubschrauberlandeplatz gibt); von hier aus nimmt man den breiten Weg links, der nach 5 Minuten Gehweg die Punta Larice in 907 m Höhe erreicht, die über den See hinausragt und von dem aus man Limone und einen Großteil der Seeufer sehen kann. In der Umgebung gibt es weitere Strecken und Angebote. Wie die, die bei Riva beginnt, über die alte Ponale Straße, und Pregasina erreicht; von hier aus kann man über die Wege 422 und 101 Limone erreichen und mit dem Schiff nach Riva zurückkehren. Ein weiterer Rundweg führt von Malga Palaer zum Passo Rocchetta (1159 m), überragt von einem felsigen Turm mit seltsamer Form, wo sich die typische Pflanze der Brescianer Voralpen befindet, die "Dafne delle pietre", die im Mai mit wunderschönen rosa Blüten bedeckt ist. Von hier aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf den See, während man in Richtung Norden an klaren Tagen in der Ferne die Dolomiten sehen kann.

Punta Larici

Der Radweg des Etschtals r startet an der Quelle der Etsch am Reschenpass und erreicht die Adria wo sie in Rosolina mündet. Entlang der Route kann man Denkmäler, kulturelle Beispiele, interessante Überreste wie die sogenannten Lavini di Marco sehen, ein Schutzgebiet, das aus antiken Erdrutschen von Kalkstein besteht, in dem prähistorische Spuren von Dinosauriern gefunden wurden. Danach verläuft der Weg parallel zur Brenner-Autobahn und der Eisenbahnlinie (die Züge bieten einen Fahrrad-Service und halten an jedem Bahnhof). In der Gegend befinden sich die Burgen von Chizzola, in Ala Castel Saiori und die von Sabbinara d´Avio. Diejenigen, die eine Herausforderung suchen, können Sega di Ala erreichen, eine anspruchsvolle Straße für den Zugang zu den Lessinischen Bergen. Nachdem die Provinzen Bozen und Trento durchquert wurden, erreicht der Weg, der zur "Ciclopista del Sole" und dem Projekt EuroVelo 7 gehört, Venetien in der Provinz Verona, wo sich der Monte Baldo erhebt. Hier erstreckt er sich über 160 km am Ufer des Flusses und des Biffi-Kanals. Von der Route des Fahrradwegs aus kann man die Festungen aus dem ersten Weltkrieg in Ceraino, Forte Monte, Forte della Chiusa, in Rivoli und in Pastrengo sehen, die das Etschtal beherrschen. Der neu gebaute Abschnitt in der Gemeinde Dolcè führt bis Volargne am linken Flussufer. Von Rivoli Veronese, wo man die Festung besichtigen und ein atemberaubendes Schauspiel genießen kann, kann man wählen, ob man den Weg in Richtung Affi entlang der "Ciclopista del Sole" oder in Richtung Verona auf dem Radweg der Fiumi Veneti fortsetzt. Mann kann auf dem Radweg Rivoli - Bussolengo weiterfahren, am Biffi-Kanal entlang. In Rivoli startet ein weiterer Radweg nach Garda und einer nach Bardolino. Von Bussolengo kommt man zum Chievo-Viertel in Verona, wo sich die Chievo-Dammbrücke befindet. Von Verona aus fährt man weiter nach Cologne Veneta und Legnago, danach nach Badia Polesine, Rovigo bis Rosolina Mare.

The Adige Valley Cycle Route t starts at the source of the Adige River, at Passo di Resia, and reaches the Adriatic Sea, in Rosolina. The route passes by monuments, places of cultural interest and ruins, including the so called "lavini di Marco", a protected area formed by old limestone rockslides, where the prehistoric footprints of dinosaurs were found. The route runs parallel to the Brennero motorway and the railway (regional trains equipped to board bicycles stop at every station). The area also hosts the castles of Chizzola, in Ala, Saiori and Sabbionara d'Avio. Anyone in search of a challenge, can reach Sega di Ala, along a road across the Lessini Mountains. After crossing the provinces of Bolzano and Trento, the route – which is part of the cycle route "Ciclopista del Sole" and of the "EuroVelo7" project – reaches Veneto, in the province of Verona, dominated by Mount Baldo. Here it extends for 160 km, along the banks of the river and the Biffis canal. The route offers views of the First World War fortresses of Ceraino, Forte Monte, Forte della Chiusa, Rivoli and Pastrengo, which dominate the Adige Valley. The part within the municipality of Dolcè continues until Volargne, on the left bank of the river and has been recently completed. From Rivoli Veronese, where you can visit the fortress and enjoy spectacular views, you can choose to continue for Affi, along the Ciclopista del Sole route, or towards Verona, along the Fiumi Veneti cycle route. Leaving Verona, the cycle route continues towards Cologna Veneta and Legnago, then Badia Polesine and Rovigo, before reaching Rosolina Mare.

Ausstellung über die Dinosaurier und Ammoniten der Lessinia im Museum von Camposilvano Vom 12. Mai bis 15. Oktober 2018 lle die Dinosaurier, diese enormen Reptilien, lieben und an ihnen interessiert sind, können einen Kurzbesuch in der Nähe machen, nur wenige Kilometer vom See entfernt. Am 12. Mai wird die Ausstellung über die Dinosauerier im geopaläontologischen Museum von Camposilvano (Velo Veronese, Provinz Verona), dem Museum der Fossilien von Lessinia eingeweiht und bleibt bis zum 15. Oktober 2018 geöffnet mit Exponaten aus der Karstschlucht von Covolo und einem riesigen Höhlenbär von 3 einhalb Metern Größe. Dieses Material zeigt die Hauptphasen der geologischen und paläontologischen Veränderung des Gebiets. Zu den interessantesten Exponaten der Ausstellung, angereichert mit vielen Fotos, gehören Spuren, nun hinter Glas, die den Durchgang des zweibeinigen Dinosauriers bezeugen, auf rekonstruierten Platten und eine schöne lebensgroße, circa 4 Meter lange Holzkonstruktion des KayentapusTeropoden. Nun wurde ein Wettbewerb für den besten Namen für diesen Dinosaurier ausgerufen. Um die Bedeutung der Funde zu veranschaulichen, wurde auch eine Konferenz mit Experten aus verschiedenen italienischen Universitäten organisiert. Am letzten Sonntag im Juni findet das Fest des prähistorischen Menschen statt, ein Familienfest, bei dem live die Tätigkeiten unserer primitiven Vorfahren gezeigt werden, wie Bogenschießen, Propellerschießen, Wolle und Ton verarbeiten. On the last Sunday of June will also be held the Ancient Prehistoric Man Day, an event for all the family with live activities showing how our primitive ancestors lived such as archery, hunting with a spear-thrower, and how they worked wool and clay. Saturday, April 28, the experimental archaeologist Alberto Castagna will take visitors on a guided tour of the Ponte di Veja, the most important geological and archaeological monument in the Lessinia Regional Park, in the municipality of S. Anna d'Alfaedo. It is a natural bridge with an arch of about 40 meters in width. Here the archaeologist will show how to chip flint stones and how to start a fire, as well as archery and spear-throwing lessons for adults who will take part in a competition. rotta di Fumane ist die einzige prähistorische Museumsstätte der Provinz Verona, stets geöffnet, nach Vereinbarung, obwohl sie auch eine archäologische Stätte ist, in der Studien und Ausgrabungen stattfinden, die jedes Jahr neue Szenarien und neue Hypothesen über unsere Vorgeschichte bieten. Grotta di Fumane ist heute der Ort schlechthin, an dem die wissenschaftliche Forschung mit der Öffentlichkeit dank einer Vielzahl von Veranstaltungen, Führungen, Vertiefungen und Workshops für jedes Alter kommuniziert, die jedes Jahr im Preistoria Festival zwischen Mai und Anfang Juni gipfelt. Bereits seit dem späten neunzehnten Jahrhundert bekannt und durch das Museum für Naturgeschichte von Verona seit den 60er Jahren untersucht, begannen die Ausgrabungen im Jahr 1988: dieses Jahr feiert die archäologische Stätte dreißig Jahr systematische Forschung, die überraschende Ergebnisse gebracht und

Im Jahr 2015 entstand ein neuer Pavillon, der Archäologen und Forscher, aber auch Einzelbesucher, Familien, Gruppe und Schulklassen aus ganz Europa mit Führungen in Italienisch, Englisch und Deutsch aufnehmen kann. Alle Initiativen werden derzeit von Homo 3.0 verwaltet. Während der Sonntage im Sommer, von Mai bis September, ist die Höhle für alle geöffnet, für Führungen mit oder ohne Vereinbarung. Die Besichtigung ist in den Sommermonaten sogar während der Arbeit der Archäologen möglich, bereichert durch die Aufregung, Momentaufnahmen des Lebens der ersten Sapiens oder Neandertaler ans Licht zu bringen, die seit mindestens 50.000 Jahren vergraben sind. Grotta di Fumane ist am Sonntag, dem 15. April um 15.00 Uhr für eine Führung und die Möglichkeit geöffnet, am speziellen Workshop über prähistorische

Farben teilzunehmen, bei dem Ocker, Kohle, Mangan und natürliche Bindemittel ausprobiert werden können, um auf Leder ein eigenes Artefakt zu schaffen. Am 25. April, um 10.30 Uhr, kann man im Rahmen der Veranstaltung der Gemeinden der Valpolicella Benvenuto Primavera an einer Führung teilnehmen, und mit Speer, Bogen und Feuertechniken beim Workshop Cosa c'è per cena! um 11.30 Uhr seine Sapiens Fähigkeiten testen. Anlässlich des 30-jährigen Jubiläums wird auch das Preistoria Festival durch Veranstaltungen bereichert, die sich um das Thema Reise drehen: die Reise der menschlichen Evolution und der Weg, der uns zu dem gemacht hat, was wir sind. Zu diesem Anlass verbündet sich das Programm des Preistoria Festival mit dem Festival Sulle Strade, das der Literatur der Reise gewidmet und das vom 8. bis 10. Juni in Fumane stattfindet: sechs Millionen Jahre menschlicher Reisen durch alle heute bekannten Länder sind das Leitmotiv der Angebote der Grotta di Fumane für das Festival. Am Sonntag, dem 10. It is a site of great interest for the biological and social changes that occurred in human evolution about 40,000 years ago. Today Grotta di Fiumane is the site par excellence where visitors interact with science through a series of events, guided tours, workshops and the Prehistoric Festival which take place between May and the beginning of June. The cave was already known at the beginning of the 1800s and has been under study by the Museum of Natural history of Verona since the 1960s. Excavations began in 1998 and the site is now celebrating its 30 years of research activities and surprising results which have opened interesting scenarios over human evolution. In 2015 a new pavilion was added to host scholars and scientists as well as visitors, families and students from all over Europe. Guided tours are in Italian, English and German. All activities are organized by Homo 3.0. Every Sunday from May to September the site is open to the public for guided tours – booking not necessary – and visits are allowed during excavations giving a first-hand insight of 50,000 years of history. Grotta di Fumane will be open on Sunday 15 April at 3 pm for a guided tour where visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the Prehistoric Colours Laboratory experimenting with ochre, coal, manganese and natural binders, and make their own Palaeolithic artefacts on leather. For its 30th anniversary the Prehistoric Festival will be enriched by events on the theme of Journey: the journey of human evolution which has made us who we are now. On June 8 – 10 the prehistoric Festival will also host the Festival Sulle Strade dedicated to travel literature: 6 million years of travelling through the known world. Sunday 10 June the Essiccatoio Fumane will host a meeting with Marco Peresani, author of the new "Journey into Palaeolithic Italy", and the presentation of the documentary Grotta di Fumane, in which the pupils of the third class of the primary school of Fumane, together with the director of the excavations, recount the life of the Neanderthals and early Sapiens who lived in the cave, and the 100,000 years long journey undertaken by our ancestors that took them from Africa to Lessinia. The Prehistoric Festival brings to Italy of the travelling photographic exhibition #Ice Age Europe Now !, created by the European Ice Age Europe network, which involves the twenty main Palaeolithic sites and Museums in Europe. The exhibition is currently held in the Basque Country and, after the Prehistory Festival, it will be hosted throughout the summer at the pavilion of Grotta di Fumane. The Prehistoric Festival will also organise, as it has done every year, archaeo-excursions on Saturdays and Sundays in May: this year the Covoli di Marano will be open to the public offering the opportunity to experience "prehistoric cinema" followed by a workshop on cave painting in the Maga Biancari. Sunday May 13 the archaeologists of the Science Museum of Trento will act as guides at the Riparo Cornafessa, in high Lessinia, presenting findings and results which will help rebuild the life of Palaeolithic hunters in the area at the end of the last Ice Age. There will be also a guided tour in Lessinia with archaeo-zoologists to the discovery of the current and prehistoric fauna, partly extinct today, and a tour of the genome at the Science Museum of Trento, showing how to get surprising information on personal characteristics as well as on our recent and ancient past through cell examination, and our long journey from Africa which started 200,000 years ago. On the first Sunday of June, the small medieval village of Molina in the Municipality of Fumane will host an event for all the family: there will be a prehistoric treasure hunt on the discovery of Lucy and of our ancestors. Nach einem Tag voller Sonne und Ruhe ist San Martino leicht zu erreichen und bietet einen Einblick in die historische Vergangenheit Italiens. Im großen moränischen Amphitheater gelegen, das durch die Ablagerungen und der Beförderung des großen Gletschers des Gardasees entstanden ist, zwischen einer Reihe von sanften Hügeln und Ebenen, war San Martino am 24. Juni 1859 der Schauplatz einer epischen Schlacht des Zweiten Unabhängigkeitskriegs: in der Gegend um die Kirche von San Martino besiegten die Armee des Königreichs Sardinien, angeführt von Vittorio Emanuele II und die französische von Napoleon III den österreichischen Kaiser

A dive into history in San Martino della Battaglia A few kilometres from Desenzano del Garda, there's a place of historical and artistic interest: San Martino della Battaglia. Easy to reach after a day of relaxation and sunshine, San Martino constitutes a dive into the past history of Italy. Located in the great morainic amphitheatre formed by the deposits of the enormous Garda glacier, among a series of gentle hills and flatlands, on 24 June 1859 San Martino was the site of an epic battle of the Second Italian War of Independence: in the countryside surrounding the little church of San Martino, the Sardinian army, led by Victor Emmanuel II, and the French army under Napoleon II, defeated the Austrians, led by Emperor Franz Joseph I. The Battle of San Martino, together with the Battle of Solferino, also goes down in history for several other reasons: it was the last conflict that saw three heads of state – Franz Joseph, Napoleon and Victor Emmanuel – take part on horseback among the soldiers; the French army included coloured soldiers for the first time in history; lastly, the International Red Cross arose out of this bloody event. Worth a visit is the monumental tower, 64 metres tall and built in Neo-Gothic style in 1880 to honour the memory of those who fought for Italian unity. Inside are statues and frescoes; the top offers breathtaking views of Sirmione, Desenzano,Peschiera, Bardolino, Lazise, Garda and the whole of the Mincio valley. At the bottom of the tower a museum of the Risorgimento preserves documents, artefacts and mementoes of the battle on 24 June. Particularly interesting is the ossuary, containing the remains of 2,619 soldiers who lost their lives on that day. To round off the visit, try an enjoyable tasting of some typical regional wines, such as San Martino della Battaglia liquoroso. Ein herzförmiger See in Castellaro Lagusello, einer der schönsten Ortschaften Italiens

eich an Charme und Geschichte ist dieser Ortsteil der Gemeinde Monzambano eine Ortschaft aus den Jahren 1100-1200, die zur Vereinigung der schönsten Ortschaften Italiens und zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört, da sie eine der archäologischen Stätten mit Pfahlbauten in den Alpen und den angrenzenden Orten ist. Mit ihrer Burg liegt sie auf einem kleinen Hügel über dem faszinierenden See mit Herzform. Der Name selbst "Castellaro Lagusello" leitet sich von der Burg, als befestigte Anlage, und kleinem See ab. In früheren Zeiten war sie ein Teil der Diozöse von Verona, danach behielt Napoleon, nachdem er Venetien an Österreich abgegeben hatte, den Ort zur militärischen Verteidigung bei. Neben der Burg, der Villa Arrighi aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und der Kirche S. Nicola, verdient die archäologische Stätte der Pfahlbauten Fondo Tacoli Ihre Aufmerksamkeit. Es lohnt sich, auf den Turm zu steigen, von dem aus man einen herrlichen Blick auf den Fluss Mincio hat und einen romantischen Spaziergang im Park der Festung zu machen. Im kleinen Zentrum aus Stein befinden sich interessante Restaurants mit lokalen kulinarischen Spezialitäten. Von Samstag, 28. April bis 1. Mai, findet von 10 bis 19 Uhr in der Altstadt die Marktausstellung “I fiori di Castellaro Lagusello” statt, die Floristen, Gärtner, Handwerker und Tourismus- und Kulturverbände vereint. Das Programm sieht Ausstellungen, Workshops, Führungen und Thementreffen vor. Marktstände und eine eindrucksvolle Blumenszene in der ganzen Ortschaft. In der Burg und in der Nähe des Turms wird es Installationen der zeitgenössischen Kunst geben; Interessierte, können den kürzlich renovierten Turm besichtigen. Auf dem Rasen vor den Mauern wird ein Bereich für Kinder eingerichtet. Auch werden gastronomische Stände auf der Strecke anwesend sein.

he history of this charming little village in the comune of Monzambano dates back to 1100-1200, and is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since it is part of the 111 pile-dwelling archaeological sites located in and around the Alps. Castellaro Lagusello is perched on a small hill overlooking a picturesque heart-shaped lake. Its name derives from castle - as a fortified enclosure - and small lake. It was once part of the diocese of Verona, then Napoleon, after having sold the Veneto to Austria, kept the village as a defence outpost. uf den Festen und Jahrmärkten der Ortschaften Veronas trifft man leicht auf Korbmacher, die vor Ort Körbe aus Rattan herstellen. Die Hauptgruppe ist die “Sestari della Valtramigna” und überall wo sie auftauchen, erinnern sie in der Gegend von Verona und vor allem in den Ortschaften der Lessinischen Berge an die antiken Gesten der Flechtkunst, mit der schwielige und geschickte Hände über mehrere Jahrzehnte Körbe, Tragekörbe und Behälter für jede Verwendung hergestellt haben. Ein Beruf, der heutzutage Gefahr läuft, zu verschwinden. Von den Alten, die Verwahrer eines alten Wissens, die ihr gesammelte Erfahrung vom Vater auf den Sohn weitergegeben und die antiken Arbeitstechniken der pflanzlichen Materialien aufgenommen haben, die der Wald den lokalen Handwerkern und Bauern seit Jahrhunderten für die Herstellung von Artefakten für die Saat, die Ernte, den Transport und die Bearbeitung der Produkte der Erde bietet, wie der berühmte “sesto” der Lessinia zimbrischen Herkunft. The ancient art of weaving I

n the towns around Verona basket makers weaving their wares at festivals and local fairs is a common sight. The most famous association of weavers is the “Sestari della Valtramigna” who have preserved the ancient art of weaving, especially that of the Veronese region and of villages in the Lessini mountains. Here, strong and expert hands have made baskets, panniers and containers for centuries and it is an art on the verge of extinction. They learnt this art from the elderly craftsmen, depositories of ancient knowledge handed down from father to son, and brought back the old techniques of processing plant materials provided for centuries by the woods to local craftsmen and farmers to create objects used for sowing, gathering, transporting and processing the products of the land, such as the famous “sesto” of Cimbrian Lessinia. “Weaving is an art, an art of creating by working with nature; exploring, experimenting with its many nuances” says Giovanni Claudio Zuffo, nicknamed Caio il Cestaio, who works with his wife Elis.” This is how, through weaving, simple twigs of willow become tools with which anyone can develop logical-manual skills. Von hier aus können Sie einen Ausflug zum Wallfahrtsort Madonna della Corona machen, der in den Felsen hoch über dem Tal der Etsch liegt und mit der Ortschaft Spiazzi über einen Pendelbusverkehr (Linie 499) verbunden ist; die Fahrten beginnen in Spiazzi und erreichen den Wallfahrtsort in zehn Minuten. Oder Sie können den atemberaubenden Blick über den gesamten See und den Monte Baldo genießen, dank der Seilbahn von Malcesine (mit einer Tageskarte für 22 Euro kann man mit dem Bus am Ufer fahren und danach in die sich drehende Seilbahn steigen - siehe www.funiviedelbaldo.it). Aber es ist auch möglich, einen Ausflug vom Seeufer aus nach Venedig zu unternehmen. Für Touristen gibt es Tageskarten (10 Euro), für drei Tage (20 Euro) oder für eine Woche (40 Euro), mit denen man mit allen Bussen der städtischen und außerstädtischen Linien von Verona und der Umgebung fahren kann, einschließlich Aerobus und Pendelbus Spiazzi - Madonna della Corona. he Verona Transport Company covers the entire eastern side of the Lake Garda basin, from Riva to Peschiera. Lines 162, 163, 164 and 165 travel from Verona, Peschiera, Lazise, Bardolino and Garda and stops to meet the needs of bus users. Line 483 also goes as far as Malcesine and Riva; while line 470 goes to the hinterland in the mountains, starting from Garda as far as S. Zeno di Montagna and Prada. From here it is worth visiting the Sanctuary of Madonna della Corona, set in the rock overlooking Valdadige, which is connected to the town of Spiazzi by the shuttle service (line 499); the routes start from Spiazzi and reach the Sanctuary in ten minutes. This is what Consorzio Ippostrade Europee and its president, Lorenzo Costa, offer. “Pedemontana Veneta”, three routes in the province of Verona, suitable for riders of all abilities, who can enjoy discovering the beautiful settings and the hidden corners of the wine region of Valpolicella, Soave and Durello. The routes have different lengths, up to approximately 100 kilometres, and start and finish in the same place, to facilitate logistics. Experienced staff accompanies riders along the route on trained horses. These are mostly experience trips of one or more days, that offer the chance to visit fascinating places in total safety. iemand weiß, was in Bob Dylans Kopf vorgeht. Seine Unendliche Tour wird nach einigen Terminen Anfang April wieder durch Italien führen. Sein Comeback in der Arena (siehe das Cover der Real Live-Platte, ein Bild, das im Amphitheater von Verona in den Achtzigern aufgenommen wurde) ist etwas, wonach Dylan-Fans mehr als zwanzig Jahre lang gesucht haben. Der Mann ist immer noch ein Mysterium, vor allem für sich. Und was ist mit dem Nobelpreis? Ich schätze, er hat schon alles vergessen. Und wenn seine Stimme nicht der köstliche «Sand und Leim» ist (wie David Bowie sagte), können wir in seinen Sixties-Platten hören, dass seine Band die Musik wie ein RockBlues-Kraftwerk liefert. Und der Anführer kann das Publikum immer noch mit dunklen, starken Versionen von Meisterwerken wie “Ballade eines dünnen Mannes” atemlos belassen. Bereite dich auf den neuen Anstrich vor, den er auf Klassiker wie “Blowin im Wind”, “Highway 61 Revisited”, “Simple Twist of Fate” und “Tangled Up in Blue” setzt. Niemand kann den Blues wie Bob Dylan singen.

Nobody knows what’s going on in Bob Dylan’s mind. His Neverending Tour will pass through Italy again, after some dates at the beginning of april. His comeback in Arena (check the cover of Real Live record, a picture taken in the Verona amphitheater in the Eighties) is something Dylan fans were looking for more than twenty years. The man is still a mystery, mostly to himself. And what about the Nobel Prize? Guess he’s already forgotten all about it. And if his voice is not the delicious «sand and glue» (as David Bowie said) we can hear in his Sixties records, his band delivers the music like a rock blues powerhouse. And the leader still can leave the audience breathless with dark, strong versions of masterpieces like “Ballad of a thin man”. Prepare yourself to the new coat of paint he put on classics like “Blowin in the wind”, “Highway 61 Revisited”, “Simple Twist of Fate” e “Tangled Up in Blue”. No one can sing the blues like mister Bob Dylan.

Chinet bordering the historical centre of Albisano in the municipality of Torri del Benaco. The plan covers an area of about 3,000 m2 on a 21 metre rise above the lake level. The residential complex includes four terraces of 115 m2 each with a view of the lake and of the villages beyond along the Brescia coast. The buildings blend discretely with the surroundings using the sloping ground and the natural escarpments. The communal access to each unit has no barriers hindering the passage for the disabled and lifts are also available. Paths are kept to a minimum favouring instead green areas and lawns. The height and the slant of each building give a clear view of the lake to all units.
