Member of the Month: Shanaia Neberba 1) What was your favorite service event and why? My favorite service event is all of the fairytale town events because when I see the little kids like smiling and having fun it makes me feel like i am doing a good job.

2) What are some of your hobbies? Some of my hobbies are to read books and to play with my dog Hachi. I also like to hang out with friends on my free time.

3) What do you enjoy most about Key Club? What I like about Key Club besides the thought of knowing that you are helping people and making their days a little bit easier and better, I get to make new friends and I get better opportunities for helping out in my community. 4) Why is volunteering important to you? Volunteering is really important to me because at first when I got to Franklin I really wanted to get a volunteer cord. However, now that I've done a full year of volunteering at different places, I really liked knowing that I have helped people in my community and I got involved in other peoples lives. The knowledge oh really made a difference in my community made me love volunteering.

Some Final Words from Mr. Hello Key Clubbers I would like to announce that as the Kiwanis advisor to your club from its inception, almost 12 years, it is now time to transfer that awesome responsibility to another fellow Kiwanian. Your new advisor is Mr. Mark Shimada. Mr. Shimada is the proud father of a previous, and bright, former President of your Club and he will continue our Greater Sacramento Kiwanis efforts to help make you a very successful Club. In my years of being your Kiwanian Advisor I have witnessed the dedication, commitment, hard work and many successes of the Franklin Key Club. Those were achieved through the leadership and dedicated service of the past Officers and of course the support and wise guidance of Mr. To, your faculty advisor. I have always appreciated the energy, the voluntarism for community projects and respectful behavior of the all the members. I am sure you will continue to carry on with this rich tradition and make Mr. Shimada and the Greater Sacramento Kiwanians proud to be your sponsors. I will continue to “keep an eye on you” from the side lines and please don’t ask me “how do you feel” - Mr. Ortega

June DCM + OTC Congrats to our very own Sophia Quach for receiving Member of the Month at the June DCM. Although she has only been in Key Club for a few months, she has shown commitment, perseverance and enthusiasm to reach new levels in key club. She also doesn't shy away from meeting new people and stepping out of her comfort zone.
