Service is all year and I highly encourage all of you to volunteer during the summer and get a head start on all your hours and complete as soon as you can before you become bombarded with school work in August. In this issue, expect recaps of our past service events and the first DCM of the term. Don’t forget that there are many opportunities to stay involved in key club during the summer so iI encourage all of you to go out of your comfort zone!!!

In service and friendship, Cassandra Woo Franklin Key Club Bulletin Editor 2016-2017 Franklin Key Club Member 2015-2016

What is Relay for Life? Relay for Life is an all day event hosted by the American Cancer Society where they promote awareness for Cancer and honor those who have fought against or lost their lives because of it. This event also is a way to help raise funds that are donated to cancer research. This year’s Relay for Life was hosted at Franklin High School this year and many organizations came out to support and also the different key clubs in our division. Franklin teamed up with Pleasant Grove this year and we were able to sell fruit tarts in which all the proceeds were donated to cancer research.

While I was volunteering at the Elk Grove Elementary School Carnival I helped passed out the deserts to the kids and adults who stopped by. Later on, I also assisted with the different carnival games they had. Towards the end of my shift, I helped clean the campus after the carnival was over. - Brandon Cezero
