Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?
A. Tyler Chronicles. I live and breathe comedy.
Q. Let’s talk a little bit about your journey and how you got to where you are today?
A. Started off using my MBA to get a job with the Atlanta Hawks. Wanted to get into the corporate side of pro sports. While living in Atlanta I was asked to audition for an All-Black Improv group.
One of the members did stand up and needed a ride to as show. I took him, the host asked if I wanted to do standup that night, and for some reason I said yes.
I went on stage almost every night since that day 14 years ago. Doing stand up lead me to volunteer my services in lots of areas including writing, which was ultimately my “in” to being on and writing for Wild N’ Out. That in turn lead to me being one of the host writers for the last few BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, and BET Hip Hop Awards.
Q. Who are some of your comedian idols?
A. Tommy Davidson, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Dave Chappelle & Ronnie Jordan.
Q. How has your experience been being on MTV Wild “N” Out?
A. It’s the most fun, hardest working two weeks out of the year. We film 26-30 episodes in about 15 days. I had many responsibilities. Prepping the guest stars, helping cast members, warm up comedian, and being a cast member as well. It was like being an X-Men. Everyone has their own talent and superpower. And like I tell Nick Cannon all the time, he’s made more black and brown people rich than crack cocaine.
Q. Tell us about “MoreThanCULTR” Podcast and what makes it different than other podcast shows?
A. So that is why we are the most organic podcast MorethanCultr consists of a panel of 4 stand-up comedians who are friends in real life. We are also not beholden to reviewing the latest news and gossip. We talk about real issues and hilarious personal stories that most can relate to.
Q. What is one fun fact about yourself?
A. I fight crime late at night after I do a comedy show.
Q. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A. Anywhere the women are black and brown, the weather is warm, and the weed is plentiful.
Q. Are you working on any new projects for 2022?
A. Be on the lookout for The Cube game show hosted by Dwyane Wade. I am the mind and voice of The Cube. Also download my comedy album on all digital streaming platforms by searching “I Wrote This in The Strip Club”.
Q. Where can the readers follow you?
