Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do.
A. I’m Adrian Crutchfield, I play saxophone!
Q. How did you get into Jazz?
A. I received my first sax when I was 4 years old. The rest is history!
Q. Do you have a name for your saxophone and what makes it so unique?
A. I have many saxophones and they all have names. What makes each one unique are the experiences I’ve had with each of them. So, they all have unique stories.
Q. Let’s talk about “Leap” and the motivation behind it?
A. The inspiration behind "Leap" was Prince. He told us we should be writing, creating, and producing our own music as artists. So that’s what I did.
Q. How was your experience performing with Prince?
A. It was amazing. I’ll never forget my experiences with him. But it was also super stressful as I never knew when I’d be working, or for how long, or where we were going to be! I imagine it was a lot like being a doctor on call... for 4 years lol.
Q. What has been one of your greatest accomplishments you’ve had in your career?
A. Honestly, the fact that I’ve done what I’ve done so far, against the odds, I believe that’s my greatest accomplishment. A lot of my peers don’t make it this far, especially while pursuing passions. So, I’m just super grateful for every step, big or small.
Q. If you could go anywhere in the world and perform, where would it be?
A. Anywhere They’ll Have Me...
Q. If you could give one message to your fans, what would it be?
A. Thank you... plain and simple. Thank you for letting me do my thing, and supporting me being ME.
Q. Are there any events or upcoming projects you are working on?
A. I’m releasing my latest album “Lover” (a follow up to the 2020 Lover single), in a few weeks and I’m super excited to share it with you all.
Q. Where can the readers follow you?
A. You can follow me on just about every platform; my Facebook is just my name -Adrian Crutchfield, my twitter is @GOODSAX, and my Instagram is @REALGOODSAX. For everything else just visit my website at www.AdrianCrutchfield.com or google me!
