Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do.

A. I’m Monique Glover founder of LaMonique Cosmetics which is an all-inclusive mineral based curated brand of aromatherapy cosmetics created with micronized minerals and freeze-dried vitamins.

Q. Let’s talk about “La Monique Cosmetics” and how it got started?

A. After becoming aware of harmful chemicals and toxins used in personal care products and cosmetics, I decided to create a line of cosmetics which are safe and health conscious. Providing truly non-toxic products was the core reason for starting LaMonique Cosmetics.

Q. How does your cosmetic cater to women and boost their self-esteem?

A. My foundation formula is mineral based which contains natural antimicrobials which elevates the need for toxic preservatives but also helps to prevent breakouts on problematic skin. My lipsticks are infused with lavender aromatherapy which helps to relax the central nervous system.

Q. Tell us more about “Descendants of the Truth Foundation” and the motivation behind it?

A. I met the founder of The Descendants of The Truth at a celebrity fundraiser. At the time my eyeshadows were created but I was looking for creative packaging. I reached out to the foundation shortly after about creating a packaging design to bring awareness to a great African American Abolitionist and Women’s Right Activist. My brand is about supporting women whether historical or in the present. It took quit awhile for their approval, but it has been a wonderful experience working with them. A portion of the proceeds are donated to the foundation.

Q. Being a victim of domestic violence, what resources or support did you have to recover and help you in life?

A. There are so many great Domestic Violence support groups and programs. I have made a commitment to donate to different programs at least once a year. I was also blessed to have family as well as lifelong friends for support. businesses out there but being recognized for my efforts has been truly amazing.

Q. How would you define your purpose?

A. My purpose is for LaMonique Cosmetics to become a household name and to be able to provide all lovers and consumers of cosmetics with affordable health-conscious products that are truly non-toxic.

Q. What has been the most challenging building your career?

A. The most challenging part of becoming an entrepreneur was funding. It took quite a while to get established enough to qualify for business assistance so therefore I self-funded many of most of my product production early on.

Q. Are you working on any projects for 2022?

A. I’ve recently filmed an episode for BET’s Urban Beauty TV Network Show which will air August 13th at 1030p on BETher and Betplus where viewers can learn more about LaMonique Cosmetics. I also plan on reintroducing my mineral foundations as well as releasing a second eyeshadow palette with vibrant fall colors.

Q. What has been the biggest accomplishment/ achievement you’ve received in your career?

A. My biggest accomplishment so far, I must say is being the recipient of the Meta (Facebook) Small Business “Thought Starters” Award. There are many great
