Completed 60% of his passes for a total of 1,128 yards and 14 touchdowns … Rushed 115 times for 1,001 yards for an average of 8.7 yards per carry and 14 touchdowns … True dual threat quarterback who could score any time he touched the ball.
Two way starter for the Golden Elks who was a key piece of Golden Elks rushing attack. Hard-nosed downhill runner with the ability to break tackles and find yards after contact. Recorded 524 yards on 61 carries, averaging 8.9 per car with 9 touchdowns.
Joe is one of the hardest working, most dedicated student-athletes that I’ve had the opportunity to coach. Statistically he leads the team both offensively in rushing yards and defensively in tackles. He leads by example through his effort on and off the field. He is well deserving of the All County nomination.
Daniel is a three-year varsity starter at both wide receiver and defensive back. When asked Daniel has made plays on both sides of the ball. Daniel is a lockdown corner and often tasked to cover the other team’s best player on defense. Offensively, he is a playmaker and demands a double team, he has made countless plays this season. Additionally, Daniel has assumed a leadership role this season as a captain.
A two way starter, Kyrie is a leader for the Golden Elks both on the field and in the classroom. Kyrie shined at receiver. His physical and selfless blocking on the edge paved the way for one of the best rushing attacks in the conference. He led the team in receiving stats with 564 yards and 8 touchdowns and a catch rate of 95%. His route running and catching ability makes him one of the best receivers in the area.
Senior wide receiver led the team in catches (47), receiving yards (756), and touchdowns (8). Was a dynamic receiver for an offense that was predicated on running the ball in previous years. Explosive receiver with the ability to make contested catches and has a knack for the big play. Also a key contributor to the run game with his ability to block.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR NAME: GRADE: SCHOOL: POSITION:
JAYDEN TRIPLETT SENIOR ELKTON HIGH SCHOOL QUARTERBACK
COACH’S NOTE: Big time player who made big time plays in big time games ... Never shied away from the big moment, always wanted the ball in crunch time … Accounted for 73% of the team’s total offensive yardage and 28 total touchdowns … Notable games in week 7 and week 10 where he accounted for 375+ yards of offense with 10 total touchdowns between both games … A true dual threat quarterback who led his team from the front with his work ethic in the offseason and at practice … Put in a large amount of time working alone in the offseason with his receivers and backs to develop chemistry in the run and pass game ... High character student athlete who works hard at his craft and earned the respect of his teammates and coaches to be named a captain.

Zack is a two-year varsity starter. He is a leader and a selfless player. As a junior, he has assumed the role of Quarterback and is a threat through the air and on the ground. As a junior Zack has taken complete control of the offense and is also a leader in the secondary. Zack has assumed a leadership role for our team and is a team captain.
Timmy is a three-year varsity starter on the offensive line. He is an explosive player that plays with a mean streak. Offensively he is an anchor for our offensive line. Defensively, he is a disruptive player in the middle. Timmy has assumed a leadership role for our offensive line and is a team captain.
A key cog in an offensive line that kept their quarterback relatively clean all season … Another long and athletic linemen who excelled in both facets of the offensive line game … Could block in space just as well as he could block between the tackles … Threw many key blocks that sprung long runs as well as created extra time in the pocket to complete long, explosive pass plays.
Long, rangey offensive linemen who exhibited good footwork and athletic ability for his size … Intelligent player who understood the run scheme well early on in the season … Excelled in pass protection with good kick slide technique and kept pass rushing defensive ends at bay … Vocal leader as the season progressed and a key player in the unit.
Right Guard. Best pulling guard on the team. When pulling Josh was a heat seeking missile towards his assignment.
Senior Captain of the team. Big punishing blocker on the left side. Anytime we needed short yardage we ran behind him.

COACH OF THE YEAR NAME: SEAN SANDORA SCHOOL: PERRYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL POSITION: HEAD FOOTBALL COACH PLAYERS NOTE: Coach Sandora not only is everything you want in a coach, but everything in a mentor, guide, and someone you will always be able to rely on when you need him. To our team, he’s more than the coach. Coach Sandora has found his way in many of our hearts, creating many memorable memories throughout our many years of high school football and becoming a part of our family. Football isn’t the only thing he gives great advice about, he has the ability to guide and mentor players through the game we call life. In football, he is an excellent leader with the ability to fire any team up and bring any group of people together and turn it into something special. He brings out the best in players, pushing them to become the best version of both a football player and a man. He pushes them to do the best while encouraging and making his job a fun one for both the players and himself. Coach Sandora is one of the best coaches I have ever played for, and not being able to play for him next year will sting. His work and the things he does for players never goes unnoticed, and we appreciate everything he does. Physically overwhelming player who made his presence felt on every play. His hand placement and nimble hips made him difficult to contain. Well rounded player who imposed his will, and at any given moment can be seen making splash plays to affect the game.
Was effective in setting the edge as a defensive end this year. His ability to pressure the quarterback and make tackles for loss provided a great asset for our team. Neel is a hard working kid who gives you everything that he has in order to utilize all of his ability.
Senior Captain of the team. Left side defensive end. Relentless pursuit to the ball on every play.
Sam has been a threeyear varsity player. Offensively, he is another anchor for our offensive line. On defense, he is an explosive defensive lineman who gets off the ball and makes plays in the backfield.
Senior Captain of the team. Right Side defensive end. Steady defensive end that rarely made mistakes. Had 3 blocked kicks in the Aberdeen game.
Will ate up double teams all year long helping to clear up our linebacker’s reads. He understands his role on the team and fully embraces it. His quick feet and hands made him a problem for opposing offenses to handle. I’m looking forward to seeing him continue to get better and return for his senior year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR NAME: JAKE KOEHLER GRADE: JUNIOR SCHOOL: BOHEMIA MANOR HIGH SCHOOL COACH’S NOTE: Jake Koehler has earned the distinction of defensive player of the year in Cecil
County as a result of leading his team in tackles (88), pass breakups (6), and interceptions (2). Koehler essentially eliminated the deep middle of the field for a team that has run one high safety for most of the year. When in a two-high safety look, Koehler was great at filling the alley and making tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage, demonstrating his abilities not just as a pass defender, but also as a run stopper. In a game against North East, Koehler had the game-sealing interception on a pass that was thrown to the deep middle of the field. In Bo Manor’s homecoming game, Koehler called an audible on defense on the last play of the game, blitzed off the edge, and helped force a stop in the backfield to seal the victory. And against Rising Sun, Koehler made 15 tackles, most in the first half, to help slow Rising Sun’s powerful and efficient run game. Jake is a junior captain for Bo Manor and will look to come back next year with even more to prove as the team continues to grow under his leadership.

This is Caedon’s first year playing varsity football. He is a long and explosive athlete with a good first step. He uses his size and speed to create space and beat one on one blocks. He has made countless big plays on defense this season. Caedon is a hard worker and leader for our defense.
Jaimere is a four-year varsity starter. He missed a few games during the middle of the season due to injury. Since being back, offensively he has averaged over 100 yards a game over the past three games. Defensively, since playing inside linebacker he has averaged at least 10 tackles a game. He is an explosive player that uses his quickness to get to the ball carrier. Jaimere has really stepped up this second half of the season. He is a leader and captain of the team.
A two way starter and kick returner, Amir has a lethal combination of athleticism and awareness that helped him become one of the top defensive backs in the area. His ability to recognize formations and routes consistently put him in position to make plays all season. Whether it was making plays with the ball in the air or coming down to make open field tackles, Amir was willing to lay it all on the line every time he was on the field.
Versatile defender who was sound in both pass coverage and against the run. Offensive players rarely kept Doug blocked as his hardnosed style of play made him a threat to make a play on anything his way. Beyond the field, Doug is an exceptional student who displays high character at all times both in and out of school and was a true leader for the Golden Elks.
Junior free safety led the team in tackles (88) and pass breakups (6). Intelligent defender that kept opposing offenses from attacking the deep middle of the field. Has ability to run sideline to sideline to make a play on the deep ball while also having the ability to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage.
Zack is a two-year varsity starter. He is one of the hardest workers on our team and is very dependable. As a junior, Zack has assumed the role of a leader on our team. As a safety, Zack is very smart and has the ability to play both the pass and the run. Offensively, he is an explosive player that can make plays in space.

Kicker, Punter, and QB. Gannon did it all but play defense. Hit two field goals this year. Gannon was also a specialist on kickoffs, there was not a kick he could not do, deep, onside, or skyball.
Coming into the year our punter position was open and Andrew stepped into the role and owned it. All year long he flipped field position and set up our defense with favorable situations. He did a great job of stepping into an unfamiliar role and performing well in it.

Aliza is a skilled junior midfielder and Captain. She recorded 11 goals and added 7 assists for 18 points this past season! She played amazingly well against her opponents, including the county teams! Aliza works hard to develop her skills and plays travel field hockey in the off season as well! It’s been great watching Aliza build up her teammates and develop as a player throughout my years of coaching her!
Ashley has been the closer of the North East field hockey team throughout the entire season. She had 6 game winning goals. Her presence in the offensive circle is ferocious and incredibly hard to stop. Ashley plays a significant role on offensive corners as she is the pads player to collect rebounds. Ashley is a designated 1v1 player for the team. Ashley started each game of this season.
Lexi Bunk is our top-scorer this year. Lexi’s stick work and hustle help her move the ball through the whole field. Her skills and dedication to the sport is inspirational to the team. Lexi is one of our team’s captains this year, she helped her team plan plays and corners. Lexi is also a great student and plans to continue her athletic career after high school.
Maddy led the team with 37 shots and 8 goals and was the driving force behind our offensive line. She dribbles the length of the field with speed and often beats every defender along the way with her quick hands and feet; I believe she has the best dodges in the county. Her movement up the field and around defenders enabled us to gain countless opportunities in the circle. There is no doubt that she was a serious threat in each game and a player that every opposing team attempted to shut down.
Katie is the player who holds our team together, playing center midfield. Her presence and role cannot be overstated. She is one of the fastest midfielders in the county, was able to take the middle of the field away from opposing teams, and effectively enabled our team to remain in the offensive end by consistently and cleanly sending balls into the attacking circle, taking 23 shots herself. Much of our team’s success is a result of Katie’s relentless skill, speed, and presence on the field.
Kelsey is the cohesiveness of our team as the offensive center mid. Her job is to be everywhere all the time and she has done that successfully. She is actively engaged in every play and distributes the ball to her teammates’ sticks each time. Kelsey is a fantastic shooter on the offensive side of the field and she is able to help the defensive center mid stop big passes as they come up the field. She plays an essential role in corners as a hitter and inserter. She is a designated 1v1 player team.

RACHEL TAYLOR SENIOR RISING SUN HIGH SCHOOL DEFENDER Rachel Taylor is a stand-out field hockey player and a captain for the RSHS field hockey team. Rachel played center back for the entire season and dominated on the defensive end. As a defender she scored two goals on the season. Rachel came up with many defensive stops when the team was under pressure on the defensive end. She was one of the five RSHS players chosen to take 1 v 1 shots in overtime games. She scored the game winning overtime, 1 v 1 goal, to defeat Patterson Mill. She plays with heart and tenacity every time she steps on the field. Her work ethic and passion for the game is unrivaled. Rachel has an uncanny ability to read the play and come up with a defensive stop. In game competition this season, she was noticed by other coaches as a threat on the defensive end.

Kiley is the heart and soul of the North East field hockey team. As the defensive center mid and captain, Kiley is the anchor of the field. Her job is to stop the ball, redistribute, and take quick free hits. She earns a foot foul and obstruction foul better than anyone I have ever seen. She is incredibly difficult to stop. She has played significant roles (hitter, inserter, and trail) on both defensive and offensive corners. She is a designated 1v1 player.
AnnMarie Davenport is a highly-skilled athlete. AnnMarie has no fear on the field and her hustle sets her apart. AnnaMarie is a strong defender and the whole team can count on her to make great defensive plays. AnnMarie plays the whole field in order to gain possession of the ball. AnnMarie is also a hard-working student and a positive asset to our team.
Rachel is skilled, aggressive and plays with so much heart. She is a force on defense as well as on offensive corners. Rachel was a key player in every single game this season. She directed the defense and made key stops in every game. She constantly asks how she can improve her own game, and doesn’t hesitate to help her fellow players to get better.
Kristina is a solid defender who attacked the ball furiously. Kristina had 18 defensive saves on the year while stopping forwards on the attack. Kristina led the team through tough games with a never quit attitude. She blocked the middle of the field and was a wall on defensive corners.
Team Captain Savannah McMullen is the defender who no one can get past. All year, Savannah has been able to shut down opposing offensive players as they run up and down the field. Her block tackle is solid and effective each time. On the rare occasion that Savannah misses her block tackle, she is able to quickly run to track down the other team and stop them again. She is essential to defensive corners as the second trail in corners.
Harley has a keen eye for the game of field hockey and was a great asset to her teammates. She saw the entire field and communicated patterns that she observed. Harley came in clutch when we needed her in the goal. She had an impressive 26 saves in the C. Milton Wright game and was calm and collected in the overtime 1 v 1s against Patterson Mill.
COACH OF THE YEAR NAME: KENDIE HUDSON SCHOOL: NORTH EAST HIGH SCHOOL I am extremely honored and excited to be able to share with all of you why Hudson is very well deserving of Coach of the year. Coach Hudson has not only supported me and my team in field hockey, but along with everything and anything else my team and I have needed. Hudson is one of the only people that I know I can go to with anything, and I know that she will be there to support me, and help me through whatever it is. She has brought our team together in many ways. She has taught us that the only way to win as a team is to play like one, and with that she has shown us the importance of being a team, and what a good teammate looks like. She has taught us how Handle ourselves with class wherever we are no matter the circumstances, and for some (me) this has taken some time. Hudson never gave up on me, she never gave up on any of us. She goes out of her way to assist her players with their grades, and teaches us the importance of school. She once came to school an hour early so she could help me with my math homework Before school started, she wasn’t even my math teacher. Hudson has taken the time to get to know each player personally, and use that to place us on the field where we are most beneficial to the team. It takes a very special coach to take a group of kids and give them a purpose; on and off the field. I am the player I am today because of Hudson. I would like to speak on behalf of my team when I say, we love you so much Hudson. Thank you for everything, and Congratulations! You deserve every bit of it. - Ashley Marison - Class of 2022

Beckham Aiman... “The Monsoon”! Crafty attacking midfielder with excellent vision and passing accuracy. His outstanding ball skills and dribbling abilities were instrumental in driving the Tiger Army offense. An absolutely jaw dropping genius with the ball at his feet... simply magisterial.
Jose “Pepe” Clavel operated as West Nottingham Academy’s attacking midfielder throughout the regular season and playoffs. He was an essential part of the attack and showed a relentless motor and stamina to consistently put defenses on the back foot. His on the ball ability, coupled with his speed was second to none.
Grant Sopa..”Big Papa”! Strong defensive midfielder almost impossible to knock off the ball. Highly technical player with a tremendous ability to win 50-50 tackles. Provided many assists and goals all while having the main role of protecting the ball line. He is a one man battleship. Scored the greatest free kick in Rising Sun Soccer history.
Lorenzo arrived from Florence, Italy, and was a rock for West Nottingham Academy, playing almost every minute of the season until his clavicle break in the team’s last regular season game. Playing as the team’s lone forward, he constantly occupied more than one defender at a time and was what made the offense tick all season.
Dane Schueller...”Hollywood”... Speedy, forward with a knack for punching the old onion bag. Famous for his right footed curler resulting from his natural wing playing ability. He is so evasive, defenders try to follow him on Facebook and he comes out on Twitter!
Darwin is a very hardworking and dedicated player who creates goalscoring chances for teammates with his creativity. It has been great coaching him this year. He works very hard during games on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field. During games, Darwin has excellent vision and can create chances out of nothing.

JOSE ‘PEPE’ CLAVEL SENIOR WEST NOTTINGHAM ACADEMY FORWARD
COACH’S NOTE: Jose “Pepe” Clavel arrived from Barcelona, Spain to play for West Notting-
ham Academy during this Fall Season as an attacking midfield player. Despite playing in the midfield, he ended the season with 18 goals and 6 assists over 15 games. In one particular game, he recorded a double hattrick, scoring six goals putting in far and away the player of the match performance. Pepe’s ability to dribble past defenders effortlessly, coupled with his blinding speed was a constant danger and nuisance to every defender in the division. He was asked to move to the forward position for the entire playoffs, due to an injury to a teammate, and again proved lethal. He scored two goals and assisted another over two games, while playing out of position. Pepe earned the MVP award at the West Nottingham award ceremony, and, as only a Junior, has tons of potential to continue improving into the next school year.

We have had the pleasure of having Nico on our team all four years. He is a positive, smiling, encouraging leader, superbly talented, and is an everyday example of working hard. He expects the best from himself and others, he is passionate about the game, demonstrates perseverance, and has a Can-Do attitude. He will do great things.
Anthony is a very technical player with great field vision. He sees the field in a way that many players cannot.. His ability to escape danger with his smooth dribbling was impressive. He is a skilled player with a high work rate, which is so important, but his biggest attribute was his positive attitude and leadership.
Ty has an un parralelled work rate. His competitiveness kept our team motivated to work hard every match. The technical abilities that Ty possesses helped us to play a more possession based build it out of the back style of play. Ty’s incredible speed made it very difficult for strikers to get behind him. His tactical knowledge made our backline hard to penetrate.
Nathan is a very cultured and talented player with an excellent range of passing ability. He is also a very relaxed defender, who seems to glide through games and never seems to get anxious on the ball. He has been a leader on the field for his team showing desire and commintment to succeed during each and every game this year.
Nathan is a leader on the pitch and off it, during games, he is a rock at the back of the park. Nathan put everything into each game, his game-saving tackles and blocks are fantastic to watch. Nathan is also a very accomplished passer of the ball and most of the attacking moves are started with him receiving the ball and playing in forward.
Charlie has been an amazing wall of force in the keeper position for the team. He is a calm, determined, reliable, hard-working, and clutch-performing leader. He is determined to give his all each day for the team and has passed along his knowledge to our younger keepers. We have thoroughly enjoyed Charlie being with us and wish him the best.
COACH OF THE YEAR
NAME: CHRIS TOME SCHOOL: PERRYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
PLAYERS NOTE: When the Perryville Boys Soccer Team was left without a coach this past
year, Coach Chris Tome stepped up to the challenge. Having coached youth teams in the past, he already knew some of the players and found it easy to connect with the rest. He brought an energy that allowed the boys to have fun while still working to improve every day. After losing ten seniors last season, which made up the bulk of the varsity soccer team, Tome strove to make the team the best it could be with what it had. Tome also instilled community service in the players, starting a food drive at every home game. The team took their ample collection to a local food pantry at the end of the season. Chris Tome has created a strong bond with the boys and done a tremendous amount for the community all in the short amount of time he has been with Perryville. - Luke Roberts

Cami is a freshman, who plays like a senior, makes smart decisions with the ball, on the ball, and off the ball. She is an immediate threat in a 1v1, has the shot from distance, and composed in front of goal. She finished the year with 10 goals, and 5 assists.
Sarah led our team in goals and was second on our team with assists as a sophomore. Her soccer knowledge is unbelievable and was depended on to play multiple positions depending on the match situation. As a team leader she was great at recognizing opposing teams’ strengths and weaknesses then worked with the coaching staff and other players to figure out a gameplan.
Bri was our team’s leading goal scorer with 14 goals, in addition to 4 assists. She scored in every regular season game in which our team scored. She created many opportunities by using her speed, both offensively and defensively, and showed great composure with the ball in front of the net. She was an offensive catalyst for our team.
With a combination of touch and speed, she is an offensive threat against any team. Her ball control and distribution provides the offense with multiple scoring threats. Her knowledge of the game has been demonstrated with game management skills on the field.
Laynee controls the tempo of the game, she facilitates our offense, and helps keep us composed defensively. She consistently wins 50/50 balls in the middle of the field and rarely loses possession. Her soccer IQ is very high, and she makes the players around her better. She is a junior captain, who finished the year with 5 goals and 7 assists
Addie provided strong play at center midfielder where she controlled the game for us. She led our team in assists with 8, in addition to 9 goals on the season. Addie has great vision of the field and distributes the ball very well. She has a dangerous shot from outside and a strong presence in the box.

COACH’S NOTE: It has been an absolute joy coaching Laynee. She loves the game, all aspects of it; preseason workouts, training, games, the comradery, the challenges, and everything in between. Laynee is a natural leader. Her attitude and work ethic stay the same both in practice and games. Laynee is consistent and hardworking, she isn’t satisfied with her performances if she isn’t involving her teammates and making them better. She always self analyzes, asks questions, and looks to improve. Laynee has recently announced she has commited to play for the University of Delaware after graduation in 2023.

Brooklynn’s commitment to the team was evident every afternoon when she would push every girl to get better at training then head to her club practice right afterwards three nights a week.
Aggressive and active playmaker in the midfield. Uses her strength to gain possession of the ball and maintain it even in the fury of the midfield. Unselfishly distributes the ball to generate an offense. Excellent field vision to recognize defensive threats and reacts appropriately considering the situation.
Senior Captain. 2 time All Conference player. A tenacious Defender that could also bring the ball forward to become a scoring threat. Had the ability to play any position on the field if called upon. A very tough, hard nosed player that elevated the rest of the players on the field.
Belle led our back line, playing in the center defender position. She has great speed that can match an opponent’s attack and allows her to become a threat offensively. She has great instinct on when to step to win the ball and when to drop to defend. She provided 4 goals for us with a dangerous set piece shot.
Very strong central defender. Excellent organizer of the defense and communicator with the midfield. Excellent closing speed and field vision to transition the team from defense to offense.
1st team All Conference Goalie. Leeann has only been playing in the goal for 3 years. Her athletic ability and willingness to learn has made her a force in the net. She kept the Lady Elks in every game this season with save after save. Her highlight this year was stopping a PK against Bo Manor which preserved a hard fought 1-0 Elkton win.

COACH OF THE YEAR NAME: JOHN MYERS SCHOOL: PERRYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS NOTE: Coach John has truly earned the coach of the year award by leading the
Perryville High School girls soccer team to an amazing season. This year we had many athletes on the team that contributed to our team’s success. Coach John put a major focus on training hard at every training session. He would always tell us that every bit of training would benefit us in the future. He would push us everyday at practice to become better and it paid off. Some days we complained about a drill we would do in practice, but Coach John was able to make it fun while still making us better. When it was game day, Coach John kept us focused and motivated(even though our warm-up dance and bus rides may have been a little crazy). Whenever we came off the field he was telling us great job and helping us fix little mistakes we made. Coach John deserves this award because he helped turn us into a successful team while allowing us to have fun. - Sarah Murrell

Wallace has thoroughly dominated high school golf this season, winning medalist honors in all but one match in District 7 play. Wallace won the Divisional Championship, the County Championship, the District 7 Championship, and the Maryland State Championship by significant margins. Noah Wallace is far and away the best golfer in CCPS and in the MPSSAA, boasting a 37.3 average for 9 holes and 74 average for 18 holes – nearly six and eleven strokes clear of the rest of the county. Noah is primed to continue his domination over high school golf for years to come.
Ben Adams has quickly established himself as the Phil Mickelson to Noah Wallace’s Tiger Woods, and he’s the only Cecil County golfer to beat Wallace headto-head in a match. The #2 golfer in the county is the only other golfer to average both under 45 for 9 holes and 90 for 18 holes. His 85 at Counties was 6 shots clear of third place, and his 86 at the District 7 Championships was good for a tenth place finish. Adams is only a sophomore, so look for continuous growth as he looks to lead Rising Sun’s young team to a potential state championship run in the next two years.
Tyler Hogue is the second of four Tigers to receive All County honors. Hogue, while having struggles earlier in the year during regular season play, started to come into his own during the playoffs. Despite the few blow-up holes he fell victim to, his third-place finish at counties and his fourteenth-place finish at Districts proved that Hogue is clearly the third best golfer in the county. One of the longest hitters in the county, and as one of the most avid golfers in the county, Tyler Hogue has tremendous upside going into his senior year. Look for Hogue to catch fire next season.
Karina Serio is the best girl golfer in Cecil County, and she’s proven to be one of the best golfers in the County, period. Despite only being in the game for two years, her improvement can only be described as a meteoric rise. While she is Tome School’s ace, she also starting to find success outside of Cecil County on the local junior circuit. With two more years left in her high school career, Karina Serio will have plenty of time to contend with the state’s best. And at her rate of improvement, it may be sooner than later we see her name at the top of most leaderboards.
Perryville is a very balanced team with a lot of young talent. Andrew Kidd, a rising sophomore in a loaded sophomore class, has proven to be the cream of the crop and should be a name to follow for the next few years. A fourth-place finish at Divisionals, an eighteenth-place finish at Districts, and a solid finish at Counties concluded a strong rookie campaign in which he led a young but promising Perryville team. Look for Kidd to continue to lead the charge for Perryville and continue to establish himself as one of the rising stars in Cecil High School golf next year.
Rounding out the first team all-county is another Tiger, and another golfer from the class of 2024. Bradley Dietz has been an anchor for Rising Sun all year, consistently posting top scores for the team. Alongside his rock-solid regular season, Dietz also had a second-place finish at Divisionals, a fourth-place finish at Counties, and a solid showing at Districts. Dietz’s consistency and high floor are a great indicator of his potential to be one of the most reliable golfers in the county and a major contributor to Rising Sun’s efforts to become a state powerhouse in 2022.
GOLFER OF THE YEAR NAME: NOAH WALLACE GRADE: SOPHOMORE SCHOOL: NORTH EAST HIGH SCHOOL COACH’S NOTE: I’m extremely proud of Noah’s accomplishments this year! He brought a great pride to the school and county being the first ever individual state champ. It was fun to be a part of for sure. Noah is the hardest working golfer I have ever seen. He is very dedicated and works on his game nonstop. I am very happy for Noah and to see the hard work payoff for him. His accomplishments have been a huge hit, and hope it helps our teams all grow and compete at the highest level. I hope it helps our program at NEHS continue to grow, we had a solid season as a team culminating with us winning a division title, which allows us to move up to the Chesapeake Division. We hope to grow from there! Noah Wallace’s Accomplishments in High School Golf in 2021 • 2021 Maryland State Champion • 2021 District 7 Champion • 2021 Cecil County Champion • 2021 Susquehanna Division Champion • Medalist in all but one match • 37.3 9-Hole Average (best in state, district, county, and division) • 74 18-Hole Average (best in state, district, county, and division)

Headlining the Second Team All-County is a name from one of the biggest golf families in Cecil County. The youngest Eldreth brother is quickly coming into his own, with solid finishes at Districts (96), Counties (96), and Divisionals (49) following a very solid rookie campaign. Another sophomore standout, look for Jared Eldreth to quickly follow the trajectory of his older brothers Justin and Jake who are excellent single-digit handicap golfers. It would not surprise anyone if Jared Eldreth came into next year on a mission to take over Cecil County golf – and succeed!
Timmy Dobrowolski had the second-best regular season for the Tigers, including a team low score of 42 in a match against the third best team in the state (C. Milton Wright) and Bohemia Manor. Dobrowolski also had several great rounds that were key in keeping Rising Sun undefeated in the county and the division. However, a relatively rough stretch in the playoffs kept him just short of making first team all-county. Dobrowolski has played great golf for Rising Sun all four years, and he was a steady presence and senior leader that the Tigers will greatly miss next year.
The third and final Perryville golfer to earn All-County honors is the older of the two Kidd brothers in Ronnie Kidd. The only two siblings to both earn All-County honors on this list were instrumental in assisting Perryville to second-place finishes in Divisionals and Counties, as well as the third best Cecil County team in Districts. Ronnie Kidd led Perryville at Counties, and was tied for second on the team in their Divisional upset over Rising Sun. While Kidd is graduating, his leadership on a young Perryville team will always be felt as they continue to grow and compete.
Jake Vaughn enjoyed a very solid regular season on a Bohemia Manor team that is very young but could be very exciting in years to come. A fifth place finish at counties was his most notable finish, although he was also tied for low on the team at Divisionals. With one more season left in his career, Vaughn looks to lead what could be the dark horse team in the Cecil County playoff push for 2022. With other young talent that just barely missed the list, we can see Vaughn’s veteran leadership and solid play taking Bohemia Manor to a serious contender next year.
Brandon Kristovich was consistently North East’s #2 behind Noah Wallace and adds to the class of 2024’s impressive roster of golfers. Kristovich is quickly improving and can often be found practicing on his own long after most of his teammates have left. He has proven to be capable of shooting consistent scores, which is a good sign of a high ceiling for him for years to come. If he can continue dropping shots, him and Wallace could be one of the deadliest one-two punches in the state. Coach Grimes has high hopes for this duo, and it ought to be fun to watch!
The final selection of the all-county lineup is Braden “Bud” Paris, yet another standout sophomore with some solid results and with plenty of upside. Owner of one of the best swings in the county, it will not be long until Paris makes his way to the top. He was the fifth best Cecil golfer at the District Championships, and despite missing out on Counties due to illness, he was consistently a leader for Bohemia Manor in the regular season. If he can continue to improve alongside the rest of his team, we could see Bohemia Manor making headlines in 2024.
COACH OF THE YEAR NAME: TIM KEARNS SCHOOL: RISING SUN HIGH SCHOOL Coach Tim Kerns of Rising Sun High School led his upstart team to an undefeated regular season versus teams in the county, as well as 11-0 against teams in the Susquehanna Division of District 7. Rising Sun boasted by far the deepest team, with 4 golfers earning all-county honors and had 20+ golfers try out for the team. Aside from a bump at Divisionals in which they finished third behind North East and Perryville, they were the best team in Cecil County at Districts as well as the best team at Counties. While they came short of making it to the state tournament in 2021, Rising Sun is in the best position of winning Cecil’s first ever team state championship in the next two years with a team brimming with young talent, and with more talent on the way.
⬥⬥⬥ PLAYER NOTE: I’m very excited to hear that Coach Kerns is getting the honor of Golf Coach
of the Year. Throughout the entire year he would always push us to be the best versions of ourselves, while still maintaining a fun atmosphere to play in. He would pay attention to everyone’s strengths and weaknesses, and he would always help us turn our weaknesses into our strengths. Although there were over 20 golfers on the team this year, Coach Kerns was still able to give everyone a chance to compete in a match this year. He was also able to motivate us after a tough loss at divisionals and give us the confidence we needed to perform well throughout the rest of the season, culminating in winning the county championship. Coach Kerns’ leadership provided us the opportunity to move up the to Upper Chesapeake Division for the first time in his coaching career. - Ben Adams, Sophomore - Rising Sun

He topped his senior campaign with a runner up finish at the State Championship.
Noah was the model of consistency for the Eagles this season. Constantly improving and stepping up whenever his team needed him. His best 5k time this season was 18:05 and his best 3 mile was 17:25. He finished 7th in the Region and 16th at the State meet. He stepped up to be the Eagles 2nd runner at the final 2 races.
Sam was Bohemia Manors 2nd finisher in almost every race this season. His best 5k time this season was 17:47 and his best 3 mile was 16:53. He struggled through illness to complete his Senior campaign with a 10th place finish at Regional and a 40th place finish at the State meet. Also boasted a runner up finish at the Cecil Co Invite.
This was only Michael’s 2nd season of XC. With his competitive nature, for him to qualify as an individual for the state meet this year was no surprise. He ran bold races all season, consistently progressed in his workouts and learned the importance of pacing, trusting his work and lessons in leadership. Michael’s 38th place finish at the state championships is something to be proud of especially since he ran 2.5 miles of the race with a nosebleed after an accidental elbow to the face by a fellow competitor.

COACH’S NOTE:
COACH’S NOTE:
Day Leone has been one of the most consistent distance runners in the county over his high school career. His resume is even more impressive when you consider the pandemic taking his Junior year opportunities away. When you consider that in 2019, as a Sophmore, he won the Cecil County invite, the East Region Championship and was 3rd at the State Championships. Still he managed to win all but three races all season long and was runner up twice. He became feared for a tremendous finishing kick, one that was on full display charging home to win the 1A East Region Championship after entering the final quarter mile in third. His work is not yet finished for this season, as he is entered in the Eastbay Northeast Region Meet being held at Van Cortland Park in New York.
Amanda (Mandy) Callaghan stands out above and beyond her achievements on the cross country course and in the classroom because of her leadership on our team. Mandy has a bit more experience as a runner (2nd year runner for RSHS; whereas Savannah and Emily are both first year cross country runners). Mandy has earned team captain by leading warm ups, cool downs, drills, and her uplifting encouragement when workouts seem especially challenging. Mandy is the first to cheer for those on the course (when she is not racing). Mandy ended her season with a bloody nose in one race, a cold in another, and finally tripped up at the beginning of the State meet, resulting in needing stitches. She finished each of those races with solid effort and a positive attitude, always showing encouragement and positive words to her teammates and opponents. On paper, looking at times, some have asked, “What happened to Mandy?” Numbers are deceiving - racing is so much more than numbers. To see Mandy’s grit and perseverance is inspiring to all. She is truly one of the strongest, toughest, and kindest people I know. I have no doubt that Mandy will be successful in all of her future endeavors (running and non-running). Our team is faster, stronger (mentally and physically), and over-all better because of Mandy.

Savannah is a first year runner as a Junior at RSHS. While quiet, Savannah is far from timid on the race course. She is a fighter all the way. Savannah has worked her way up to our first finisher in several races, and our second runner at Regionals and States. She has pushed through setbacks and gives 100% in all workouts and competitions. Savannah is the epitome of perseverance and grit.
“Mandy” is a 2nd year runner at RSHS. Mandy is the glue of our team - our positive perspective when athletes have nerves getting the better of them, our leader for warm ups and cool downs (at practice and on race day) and our encourager when others doubt if they can finish “just a little more”. Mandy led the team for most of the season, until she encountered some setbacks which she pushed through with strength and perseverance. Mandy is a true leader and a huge asset to our team.
Emily is a first year cross country runner. She joined us later in the season, coming off of a severe injury from Spring Track & Field. Emily was timid to compete, until completing in her first race which resulted in a 3rd place team finish. While perseverance is Emily’s strength, she also has exemplary patience and strategy. Emily is fierce. Emily worked hard and earned a 1st place team finish at the Regional meet held at Fair Hill International as well as the State meet at Hereford High.
Skylar was Bohemia Manors top female finisher in every race she competed in. She completed her freshman campaign with a 6th place finish at Regionals and a 34th place finish at the State meet. Her best 5k time this season was 23:01 and her best 3 mile was 22:06. An outstanding display of potential out of this young harrier.

Coach McKay genuinely cares for our team, creating a second family that all team members are proud to be a part of. All of the Rising Sun Cross Country team looks up to Coach McKay.
