DJ DES MITCHELL
There are very few DJs living on the island of Mallorca that have solidified a place in the Balearics club culture hall of fame for their contribution to the industry. Des Mitchell has certainly earned that and is wearing the t-shirt to prove it. Groomed and nurtured at BBC Pebble Mill studios at the age of twenty-two, Des Mitchell has spent a lifetime in music and even managed to score a UK Top 5 dance hit with “Welcome (To the Dance)” which he recorded and produced, inspired by watching his peers spinning their own tunes whilst championing many groundbreaking music artists on dance floors all over the world. Des has travelled the globe in pursuit of musical happiness and states that his nine-month stint for Avex records super club “Velfarre” in Japan was a life changer and a country he says he could easily retire

Music doesn’t stop with Des within his family, his niece Jamelia, internationally known for her hit song “Superstar” and the song penned by Coldplay “See It in A Boy’s Eyes” has made a huge impact on the British pop charts and kept the family legacy very much alive. The clubbing industry doesn’t seem to have left too many scars on Mitchell, physically or mentally, his enthusiasm amplifies a just starting out and ready for action approach, it’s really quite refreshing to witness. I guess when you do it for the love of the music, it remains a joy rather than a burden. You can catch Des Mitchell at one of his residencies on the island and he is also
