ZEPHYR... Supports the Street Child World Cup Team of Egypt The Zephyr brand created an exclusive line in support of the Street Child World Cup team in Egypt. A Global organization holding a tournament in Brazil in March 2014 which is in the shadow of the World Cup in Rio this summer. Teams from all over the world are participating in this tournament and this is the first time an Egyptian team will be part of it. About 9 kids will travel to Rio this March that have been practicing for months now in preparation. What they lack is funding for passports, tickets, visas, uniforms, shoes, etc. So in collaboration with the organizers, Zephyr created this line, in which all of its proceeds go to funding the cause. The line is very simple, featuring motivational words to represent the cause such as “e7lam, shaga3, sharek, and 7a2a2” as well as the outline of south america. The bracelets come in all colors and are meant to show support for the team and to help these passionate kids get to Rio. of the month

Styling fashionable and stylish items is her hobby. The Egyptian fashionista Aliaa El Esseily wears a casual and springy look straight from the streets of Cairo.

Radwa El Mazny wears a springy look. Love the bright colours and how this outfit is put together.

When it comes to dressing up, these girls obviously know what they are doing.

Feels like spring is finally here, the Egyptian fashionista Farah Emara wears a colorful outfit.

Mixing fur with denim definitely looks so fashionable and stylish.

OPINION

MAD PRINTS BY ASMA EL HUSSEINI

There’s been something a little challenging creeping into fashion for the past few seasons. It’s not the challenge of the clashing colors, or the mixing of eras, or the de-structuring of form. It’s the challenge that only the fashion devotees would be willing to experiment with, it’s the thing that requires an eye for getting it right, it’s what started in London a few seasons ago and now is splattered all over the catwalks, it’s the mad prints. A few seasons back British-based designers, creative and challenging as they are, upped the ante with creative takes on prints. Mary Katrantzou shined with her postage-stamp brights, Peter Pilotto with his digital geometrics and Erdem’s watercolored florals. All hail the Brits. And people did. Soon enough digital printing took over the textile world, and a new form of art was born. Yes you read it right, art. The amount of detail and precision put into these mind-bending digital prints only deserve to be called art. This spring, it’s all about the mad prints. And before you start jetting off to your favorite fashion capital for a shopping spree, or slumming it at our very own Citystars, here are the prints to look out for in the high-street stores.

Artistic Portraits: We have here a new-born baby. It’s all about the creative expression, the illustrative drawings, the graffiti style faces, the art canvas inspired and the bold color combinations. Prada did it beautifully this season and so did Antonio Marras, Aquilano Rimondi and Jean Charles de Castelbajac. With this trend you want to keep the rest of the outfit as simple as possible. The print says it all, so lets try to keep the focus on that.

Brush Marks: I like to think of this as the designers’ canvas. Overlaying patterns at Chalayan, splattered paint at Libertine, painted stripes at Chanel and finally textured paint at Celine. Creative Plaids: We’ve seen the plaids in full-throttle last winter, now they are getting more artistic for spring. They are coming in so many forms; hand painted, color-blocked, subtle overlays and distressed. So make sure you’ve got some tartan variations in your wardrobe. Furnishing Style: This is by far my favorite. Coming from generations of textile printers, I find this trend extremely chic and edgy. With wallpaper inspired, flat graphic florals in an oversized scale, this trend could get real fun. Having to mix and match, possibly clash prints, is what it’s all about. Geometric Shapes: Bold graphics, Islamic linear prints, tiled patterns, blocks and prints capture the modern minimalistic side of fashion. Preens’ colorful blocks, Topshop’s oversized Islamic print and Fendi’s stamped shapes are examples of this trend. Jungle Tropics: This all over print trend is all about exotic florals. Seen on the catwalk of Chalayan, Hermes, Emporio Armani, Just Cavalli and many more, this print will definitely be beautiful on summer dresses. Monochrome Patterns: These simplified monochromatic patterns come in a series. Whether mismatched or matched or unified, this outfit should be kept in monochrome. Seen at Marc Jacobs, Sass & Bide, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jasper Conran and so many more. Florals: This wardrobe staple never goes out of style. Whether they’re floral bouquets, flowing floral borders or romantic all over florals, they all work for this spring season. Typography: Hand drawn and painted lettering, newspaper print, graffiti style text, and artistic letterings.

Lupita Nyong’o in Gucci. The 12 Years a Slave star shined in a stunning turquoise number. The colour complimented Lupita’s skin tone to perfection, and the intricate neckline set this dress apart from all the other ‘plain jane’ dresses on the red carpet. Looks like someone is really having fun with fashion!

Julia Roberts in Valentino, YSL shoes, and Roger Vivier clutch. This Pepto-Bismol inspired look is actually working in reverse as it is actually making us nauseous. The mega movie star failed to impress in this dowdy jumpsuit that has a weird clownish vibe to it or is it just 70s gone bad!

Kerry Washington in Prada ensemble and clutch, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Harry Winston jewels. Honey If you think you could get away with this atrociousness because you are pregnant, you are sadly mistaken. The only thing you could come up with by looking at this, is throwing your hands up in the air and yelling WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!

FEATURE

Critics ChoiceAwards Leslie Bibb in House of Ronald, and Jimmy Choo sandals and clutch. Bibb looked sleek an chic in this illusion beaded frock. The crystal-detailed back is so on trend and took this dress to another level of interesting. The simple hair and basic makeup also added a touch of sophistication.

BEST Margot Robbie in Elie Saab, and Alexander McQueen clutch. Miz Margot is rocking the uber hot jumpsuit trend with a killer edge. The soft lace against the structured tailoring makes this look fit to a T. The soft makeup and tousled hair gave a bombshell touch to this HOT HOT HOT look.

CFR 10

Abigail Breslin in Badgley Mischka. Little Miss Sunshine no more opted for a matronly dress that ages her in all the wrong ways. The colour washes the young starlet out‌ well lets face it, it is a tacky dress anyway. GIRLS! you will be all grown up and holding on to botox like dear life soon enough, till then, please enjoy your youth and have fun with fashion.

WORST Emma Thompson in Alexander McQueen, Anne Verdi coat, Robert Clergerie shoes, and Lauren Merkin clutch. We actually don’t mind the dress or the clunky shoes, it is that horror of a coat that we really REALLY hate. First of all this fabric belongs to an upholstery store stuck in the 80s, on the other hand, why would anyone want to look like a Christmas tree gone bad?!
