Who ever thought of learning of something we normally eat without a thought. This was the part that thrill me when it started. Three photos needed to be taken (2 elevation-long and short sides and plan view) and four need to be scanned (3 cut sections and base of the croissant). See the image below. Hand-drawing technique that are required and improved in this task: 1.Tracing (0.40 fineline pen) 2. Hatching (0.15 fineline pen) 3.Shading (2B and 4B pencil) I applied these technique on separate sheet of tracing paper. Ultimately I overlayed all the layers and got final croissant drawings. I aimed to achieve a realistic drawing by showing the depth using different lightweight of pen and softness of pencil (See the next page). The addition axometric croissant task is also give sense of representing an actual croissant in 3-D dimension.

World: 11-11
My aim was to play around with idea of the world that could be physically affected by some kind of force. Enventually, I came up with the thought of how the old, simple-looking pixel mario’s world has been abondaned. Hence, it starts vanishing (the parts of the world is pulling out by a horizontal force, you can imagine it is like a force of a vacuum “pulling” the dust) and it will dissapear soon. I achieved this goal in three elements which made up of the axonometric world on the left: 1. Orginal details - The axonometric world was made up of two 2-D mario’s world. I seeked to keep as much of the original appearance as possible as this world should represents the old Mario’s world. 2. Additional details - The word “MARIO” and characters were added to make the workld looks alive and active. Castle and ladder were added to show the connection in mario movement (where and how he can travel to places) 3. Colours: The colour without gradient (a tool on Illustrator) looked quite plain. Therefore, I applied gradient on every objects and areas and also seeked for consistency. There must be a distinguishment between bright and dark areas as there was only one source of light in this world,

Drawing the first Mario’s world. This is the front world so objects should be in the same position as the given world.
Drawing the second Mario’s world. This is the back world hence objects’ position was reversed (front object becomes back object and vice versa).
Combining the two worlds by overlaying them. Play around with the distance between objects to avoid too much space or too narrow space between them.
This is the full combination of orginal and additional details and was ready to be drawn digitally.

One of the additional details was drawn on the tracing paper and was overlayed on the world to make a final combination.

A castle made up of four pyramids and surrounded by spreading pyramids like a flower that is growing. They then are sorrounded by square that is uncapped which distinguishing the inside and the outside parts. They are all protected by wavy wall. The outter layer conners consist of pyramids with small opening on top, as the pyramids go further from the corners their openings are getting bigger and their heights are lower - producing a wavy effect. My aim is to apply the technique from beginer level to a higher one in Rhino. The easiest level is from the center where avalaible 3-D panneling patern (Pyramid) was used. The sourrounding pyramids were customed and same for the next surrounding layers except for 2-D pattern.

The 3D-model was made on Rhino before making the real one. This is the centre of the model.
The outer parts were made separately in another layer to avoid confusion with the center when applying offset point. Then combined them together.
Started making paper model. The panels with tabs were printed and cut from an ivory card.
All purposed glue was applied later the double-sided tape felt apart, then it was supported by transparent tape. Numbers were labeled to indicate the right position when glueing.

Image shows the folded panels that were combined to make a clearer vision of what the model will look like and how large it is.

Thin cities 3 -Armilla “Kingdom of women” This is about the journey of Macro Polo to the world where women dominated (possessor were nymphs). He wanted to see the world in his own eyes. He wanted to dicover the city and people’s activities. His movement were varied. He intially walked at his normal space (middle level of thickness of the arrow and narrow space between arrows). He then ran when he hided from the guard (thin arrows with wide space spreads between them). While he wandered through the city, he stared and glanced at its strangness (pipes were everywhere in the city and there was no wall or ceiling). The first perspective (purple) occured when he saw three young maidens enjoying their showers who represented the innocent of the world. His mood was light and happy as if he understanded how joyful these maidens were. The second perspective (red) happened when he saw the two nymphs at midnight who were scary and represented the coldness of this world. His mood was intense as if he was going to faint. Overall the aim was to show the contrast between two perspectives and manipulated the viewers’ mood (which should be varied from cheerful to frightening). 0

“The charm of enjoyment” While enjoying their shower, they show how beautiful they are under the sunlight and the water.

“The ruler The cold air spreads from their body to the entire city. They are powerful creatures with cold blood circulates in their bodies. Who know what will they do to you when you know their presents.

Initial of every project I always got confused and did not try to find the solutions which made the problem worse. ~And my lessons started. I learned how to communicate (talking and getting advices from tutor and friends), to concentrate on what lecturers taught and to manage a short amount of time to get the project done in due date. I also learned to be panic then learned to overcome it with a calm mind. Significantly I started to adapt the learning environment and realise the lack of me. These things, hand drawing and digital drawing are skills I have learned and I am still developing. I noticed there were lots of thing in this subject that I did not know and never used before which were really helpful when I got it (Photoshop, Rhino, InDesign and Illustrator). I learned how to represent a real object and stimulate creative ideas in my drawing. I realised that there are many ways in representation from readings and how framing in movie can relates to design from lecture about module 4. The module that I thought of giving up was the “Landscape model” (module 3) which caused by the lack of time and communication. Of course, I didn’t. I started to ask and sacrificed everything I can to gain more time. Furthermore, from the failure of using double-sided tape I learned which glue work with which material better (which I can apply next time). I also realised that if you choose to achieve something then walk, run and ready to make sacrifice to reach it. If it is too far away and you give up then you should never start it from the beginning - waste of time, effort and people’s supports. That is the reason I continue walking this path because architecture is what I have chosen. Moreover, I cannot give up on the things I like. Thanks for the inspirations (Paul, Scott, Junhan, all of my friends, tech tutors and my family). It was a wonderful headstart of my university life.
IT IS NOT ABOUT THE END AND REGRETING WHAT YOU HAVE DONE LOOK BACK AND PROUD OF YOURSELF THE REAL JOURNEY BEGINS NOW
