Our philosophy Oceanco is one of the world’s finest yachtbuilders. With a yacht building facility in the Netherlands and a design and sales office in Monaco, our technically accomplished and distinctive yachts are built to standards that no other yacht builder exceeds. Unsurpassed Dutch engineering, specifications, craftsmen, quality controls; for Oceanco these are not aims, they are achievements. Our yachts are built with dedication and respect to the visions of both the owner and designer - a yacht for yachtsmen.

Yachts For Yachtsmen Oceanco has a reputation for realizing the vision of owners. New clients have the confidence of seeing some of the world’s most accomplished yachts built on time, budget and to exceptional standards. We embrace market trends but never let them constrain our innovation. Oceanco listens carefully to what our clients wish to achieve. With no preconceived ideas, our naval architects and project managers question everything, making sure that we fully understand every detail. The details make the difference. In an era where clients require ever-more sophisticated yachts built in the shortest time-span, Oceanco develop total custombuilt designs or provide remarkable levels of flexibility in our pre-tested hulls. Either way, owners can concentrate on the practical pleasures of creating the spirit of the yacht, leaving the critical and complex design, engineering and construction issues to our skilled team of experts. Clear in our joint vision – what the owner wants and how we will achieve it – engineering, craftsmanship and materials are combined with meticulous precision.

Our history - 1990 to 2005 Oceanco has been designing and building large, luxury, custom yachts since 1990. Unencumbered by history, we have forged our own standards – rules for the modern world where ideas, materials and demands change by the year let alone the decade. Oceanco doesn’t follow in the tradition of generations of ancient mariners and instead has been created, owned and run by yachtsmen and industrialists of the 21st Century. We are the only major yachtbuilder created since 1990 and the difference in attitude is that we see eye-to-eye with clients who, not surprisingly, are yachtsmen and industrialists of the 21st century. Sixteen of the finest custom yachts were delivered in our first fifteen years, three of them over 80 metres – an unprecedented feat at the time. All of these yachts are innovative and while winning awards and industry plaudits enhances our reputation, our greatest accolade is the pleasure given to owners. We are enormously proud that every yacht we have ever built is still in service and with a much higher market value than the original purchase price.

The new generation - 2005 onwards In 2005, Oceanco made the decision to create yachts for a very particular type of owner. Coded as the Y700 Series they were deliberately designed to be the ultimate in sophistication – technically, mechanically and aesthetically. The yachts, all in the 80 metre range, are the leading edge of yachtbuilding technology within the practical considerations of time and budget. The build quality, attention to detail, control over materials and our peerless craftsmen, are the building blocks of a very special yacht programme. Extraordinary stability and sea-keeping is as a result of hulls that have been thoroughly studied, trialed and tested in the most extreme conditions. Leading naval architects and engineers have shaped these yachts to Oceanco standards – far beyond what is normal for the industry.

With a technically proven yacht, we can then give owners the maximum opportunity to create a layout that satisfies their needs. Different designers have brought a vast collection of ideas: Nuvolari and Lenard, Alberto Pinto, Sam Sorgiovanni and Björn Johansson have been able to create spectacular designs safe in the knowledge of the world’s highest construction standards. Launched to enormous acclaim in the yachting press, the very first yacht, Y701, Amevi, won the Showboats Magazine Award for the ‘Best Full Displacement Yacht, 2007. Alfa Nero, Y702, was also delivered in 2007 and such is the appeal of this concept that deliveries until 2009 already total close to 500 metres.

World class design Complementing our in-house design team, Oceanco works with the world’s most renowned designers. Our new Y700Series yachts provide the widest possible design scope within the technical and practical considerations of our pre-tested hull conďŹ gurations. Apart from the complete customization of the interiors, the considerable difference between Y701, 702, 703, 704 and 705 demonstrates how Oceanco and a client’s designers work as a team to deliver the most sophisticated and exciting yachts. More than ever before, the complexity of design, exotic materials and superior standards, stretch the boundaries of what can be built. Oceanco is one of the very few yacht-builders able to cope and even excel with such a challenge. We actively seek innovative and unusual projects and recent launches prove our ability to fuse luxury interior craftsmanship with complex exterior engineering. Oceanco yachts are designed to have a timeless appeal. Creating an iconic yacht of which an owner can be proud, is very much part of the design brief we launch.

Engineering & technology Oceanco yachts have state-of-the-art engineering. Every detail is thought through and tested so that the framework behind the luxury is absolutely reliable. The most exquisite finery, the most spectacular effects and the most innovative systems – we can include them all because of our thorough understanding and exhaustive testing of engineering principles. Using industry-leading design programmes our engineers and naval architects create 3D designs, updated in real time. Every part of the technical team logging in to the same data achieves a reduction of the total building time and improves the quality of output. Working in close collaboration with one of the world’s foremost naval architects, our in-house experts have total control of the build process from concept to launch. Oceanco offers a broad range of tested hulls on which various projects can be based. We extensively test scale models at Marin, the Dutch Hydrodynamics Research Institute. In co-operation with the relevant Classification Society, tests are conducted in a deep-water basin as well as a depressurised towing tank.

A highly-qualified, experienced team of naval architects and marine engineers ensures that construction meets all certification requirements as well as our own standards, often set at even higher levels. The 82 metre Alfa Nero has several features that demonstrate Oceanco engineering innovation. The aft main deck has a 7metre x 3.5metre infinity edge swimming pool - the largest currently on a yacht. Hydraulic rams raise the floor to deck level as the water drains into internal reservoirs. The pool floor is then united with the existing aft deck and transformed into a 112 square metre entertainment area, strengthened to accept a helicopter. Oceanco and Rolls Royce developed a new design for retractable stabilizers. Our combined marine engineering expertise has created the most efficient zero speed stabilization system that delivers silent calm. Oceanco is working with Rolls Royce and other leading technology companies to develop exclusive new ideas for our yachts.

Oceanco dutch construction & craftsmanship Oceanco has the capacity and resources to build the largest and most sophisticated yachts. We offer a personalized service to our clients, focusing our efforts on a small number of yachts at a time. We prefer to create quality over quantity. Our craftsmen are recognized as among the finest joiners and decorators in Holland. To them, perfection is a point of principle. We encourage a philosophy whereby regardless of their particular task or skill, everyone feels personally responsible for the quality of the entire yacht . The Alblasserdam yacht building facility near Rotterdam has a 145 x 45 meter heated shed for building or refitting yachts of up to 130 meters. We also have a private harbour with a 130 meter quayside.

A ship’s elevator and four cranes, with a lifting capacity of 10 to 20 tons, guarantee safe and efficient transportation. The main building also accommodates two independent construction units (steel and aluminium), two machinery units (piping and mechanical), two carpentry units (rough and finishing works), a spraying facility and two outfitting units (general and stainless steel). With continuous investment in the finest people, facilities and equipment, every Oceanco yacht is designed, built and equipped with traditional Dutch devotion and state-of-the art technology. We are flexible and understanding with our clients but internally, impose a zero error tolerance. Our entire attitude is to make life as enjoyable and easy as possible for our owner’s team – designers, representatives, captain and crew. Everyone plays their part in helping to create a magnificent Oceanco yacht.

Εnvironmentally intelligent Oceanco is conscious of the environmental impact of building, owning and operating a large yacht. We constantly audit and improve our methods and equipment to surpass any legislative initiatives. As members of the Seakeeper’s Society, a sea pollution monitoring system is installed on every yacht. We work with owners and suppliers to develop and implement the most efficient systems. Our intention is to source raw materials and equipment in a way that is responsible and to encourage owners, captains and crew to operate yachts in an environmentally conscious way. Every Oceanco yacht gives the owner the maximum opportunity to enjoy their yacht, be proud of their achievement and to respect the oceans.

Life after launch We build yachts with an eye to the future. Our ‘Life After Launch’ programme goes far wider than at most yards. Much more than just engineering support, it is direct line to a dedicated department. Located in Alblasserdam, the department has immediate access to each yacht’s detailed technical information so that we can quickly and accurately address every question. Mechanical, electrical, propulsion and entertainment systems – whatever the question, we have technical staff to assist the crew even in the most remote locations.

A rapid response team is ready to fly out to the yacht and install spares or attend to more complex situations. Every Oceanco owner, captain and crew knows that the shipyard is behind them, ready to ensure that the yacht operates at one hundred per cent, one hundred per cent of the time.

Οceanco - the future Oceanco continues to push the boundaries of the superyacht concept. Continuous research and development is wrapped around our constant search for new shapes, materials and technologies. Oceanco bridges the latest industry trends with our own ideas. Our intention is to build yachts that are instantly recognizable while at the same time interpreting the client’s desires. An owner’s Oceanco vision. Future trends, such as exist in architecture, will influence both interior and exterior designs. Technically and aesthetically, Oceanco is able to give clients more than had ever been previously possible at any shipyard. Our own designers are developing these concepts right now for a future that is not far away – the next series of Oceanco yachts.

Yard & Offices Oceanco has sales, marketing and administration offices in Monaco, the exclusive centre of Mediterranean yachting. The yacht building facility is based in Alblasserdam, Holland, less the half an hour from Rotterdam airport and with our own helicopter landing facilities. The modern yacht building facility is not only equipped to build the ďŹ nest yachts but also to keep our workforce committed to the cause. Generations of yachtbuilders pass on their expertise, integrating craftsmanship with new technology. Oceanco believes that our build quality and exclusivity reinforce the return on investment. A strong resale value and a brand highly-rated by brokers, underwrites that with Oceanco, a client is buying a yacht for yachtsmen.
