creative thinking T
alk about creative thinking. Look what we’ve found!
Finding opportunities for independent artists of all styles, genres and mediums to both create awareness of their talents while possibly putting a little “green” in thier pockets is a neverending quest. With a company like turningArt, we’re able to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. turningArt has found a way to satisfy both sides of the art community by catering to the art enthusiast and the artist with one simple idea; bring them together in an environment that benefits both... genius!
That's not entirely true, because I wasn't just trying to fill it. I was trying to find something that I really loved. Something that had meaning for me and just fit - perfectly. Turns out it was really hard. And while I searched in the little free time that I had, that empty wall stayed empty for a very long time. I thought there had to be a better way, and TurningArt is the result - a new, 100% risk free way to discover, fall in love with, and ultimately buy artwork.
In a nutshell, turningArt allows artists to submit their work for inclusion within their database and if selected, they market your creations directly to customers that are looking for your art! customers then rotate prints of contemporary artwork on a regular schedule in their home or office, while every dollar spent earns credit towards the purchase of an original work of art.how simple is that?
TurningArt is now a dynamic coalition of art-loving geeks and technology-loving artists based in Boston, MA. If you like what we’re doing here – tell your friends, their friends, and even random strangers on the street. And if you want to tell us, you can get in touch with us here, here or here.
About turningArt It all started with an empty wall and the question of how to fill it.

Theatrical Review
Can’t Nobody Tell It Like I Can!
New Media
Produced by Karen Chattum, Directed by Michael Gray Reviewed by Melvin David Lampkins, Contributing Writer
The setting of Karen chattum's thought provoking play “can't nobody Tell It Like I can,” directed by Michael gray, was a round chair group therapy session, so simple I thought it was genius. The characters spanned various backgrounds, including one infected by hIV as a result of a married partners cheating ways which was to educate on the various ways hIV can be contracted by an innocent, unknowing partner. eighty people filled San antonio, Texas’ Little carver Library to witness this life changing production. one of the objectives the play was to give real knowledge on how hIV/aIDS can be contracted. I learned that hIV/aIDS is preventable and, through proper education, one’s quality of life can be sustained and improved. What really set this play apart, for me, was the incorporation of the testimonies of “real life” hIV/aIDS survivors and the risky behaviors associated with “substance abuse”. another attention-grabber was the heartfelt singing by robin Farland which gave the audience an emotional punch. Lastly, ironically, this play in many ways mirrored my own life and some of the demons that I dealt with and overcame. not only was the inaugural opening on my birthday, I am also a former LcDc intern, who once had a significant substance abuse problem; I have been clean and sober for 6 years. So, to say I could identify with the underlying elements in this play is an understatement. Karen's insight and treatment of these two controversial topics, hIV/aIDS and Substance abuse, was well done and rooted firmly in a reality I could relate to. Let Karen and her cast take you on an entertaining and educational journey with Can’t Nobody Tell It Like I Can! I definitely recommend it. * This play will be reprised in March at the Carver Center in San Antonio, Texas. For more information contact Poetry In Motion at poetryinmotionceo@gmail.com

There’s never been a better time to be in the movie industry.
Digital Revolution Yields New Opportunity for Films
”
(newsuSa) - Digital distribution revolutionized the music industry to such an extent that it's still reeling from the transformative power of mass downloading. as the music industry adjusts to the rocking changes of the digital wave, the film industry is going through its own set of uncharted waters. Though not without hiccups, digital distribution met widespread success in the music industry. The digital revolution, however, has now shifted focus to the film industry with the dawn of netflix, digital streaming and video-ondemand.
home-video market. according to the annual global entertainment and Media outlook report, north america expected to $12.2 billion in box office revenue but $27.9 billion in home-video profits in 2011. The home-video market is growing in significance as blu-ray discs become increasingly popular, ticket prices continue to rise and electronic movie delivery transforms distribution. The entertainment and Media outlook estimates an 13.8 percent annual profit growth for electronic delivery.
"There's never been a better time to be in the movie industry," says Peter hoffman, ceo of Seven arts Pictures. "Large studios are relying on big-budget pictures like 3D titles, but that opens up space for independent studios to work on small-budget films and capitalize on digital distribution."
"We're seeing significant market opportunity due to the cutback by major studios on producing small-budget films and the proliferation of digital distribution alternatives," says hoffman.
Seven arts embraced the opportunity afforded by digital distribution and staged a digital release for their most recent comedy, "The Pool boys." a digital release via on-demand took place just days after the theatrical release. Seven arts recognized the profitability of electronic delivery and the
Digital distribution made cD's practically obsolete, yet a new world of music was born with iTunes, Pandora and Spotify. Who knows what changes the digital revolution shall yield for the film industry? For more information on the changing movie industry, go to www.7artspictures.com.

here is so much information stored within the mind of a man who has seen the inner workings of the music industry from childhood prodigy to industry consultant and all parts in between that I have trouble figuring out where to begin. I don't want to miss any of the important and educational information that would benefit our readers.
rent readers should sit up and take notice.
I guess the first thing I should say is that chris Lieck is a 'jewel' in the national music scene. So when I mention that he headquarters out of Texas, San antonio in fact, the majority of our cur-
blessed with what some would equate to the 'Midas Touch' when it comes to making moves in the industry, selectively deciding whether to agree or pass on deals that would make your mouth
at age 6, the drum sticks began chris' musical journey. by age 10 he had successfully picked up the guitar and was already being hired professionally. by age 14 he, along with his new group, were being managed by industry leaders performing 4 nights a week.

hat it takes usiness.”
water solely on his own assessment. his decisions have proved both lucrative and satisfying as he now oversees the operations of several companies, all geared towards creating the well rounded and saleable artist. Speaking of creating artists, I asked chris what characteristics he looks for when selecting new artists to work with on his projects and as if he read my mind; his answers were poised, awaiting a chance to pounce. First, a meeting is scheduled to speak face to face and evaluate any potential “star quality” and whether the candidate is manageable. Second, the candidate must show self-sufficiency, meaning that they are ambitious enough to already have a fan base. Finally, if all seems workable, there’s the question of what type of agreement would work best. These qualities, of course, work independently of each other when evaluating so all must be weighed in order to make a final decision. For example, someone with great manageability and low “star quality” may still be workable and the same for a very self-sufficient candidate with low manageability.
chris goes on to give some advice to aspiring recording artists when it comes to surviving in the music business. To have a long and rewarding musical career, you must: • have a “business Mentality” first and foremost, you have to be aware of and participate in all aspects of the latest technologies including all avenues of social media. conservatively, only 1 in 100,000 potential recording artists possess the “whole package” which includes an education on the music industry itself and he points out that this is worse than the sports industry. • acknowledge your faults. Fix the one’s you can and work around those you can’t. • You must possess the drive and tenacity it takes to make things happen while keeping a level head and pushing your emotions aside. • create and focus on achieving short-term goals which will keep you on track for the long term. • create quality product that inspires change. Your music/sound must invoke something from within. • Surround yourself with talented people and those smarter than yourself. It’s one of the best and quickest ways to solidify your status. I would like to thank chris Lieck for speaking with me and giving his words of wisdom to our readers. he is fortunate to have a career in the business that he loves which allows him to work long hours without a complaint and we are fortunate to have someone in the business that is willing to do what he can to teach the business to those who would listen. continue reading at www.incmagonline.com
