The purpose of this position is to develop and ensure implementation of the Star Agritech International (SAI) Cigar Region’s unmanufactured tobacco sales infrastructure in Dominican Republic, prospecting clients, supervising logistics, local marketing and managing the documentation in order to achieve the SAI’s Sales targets. The country manager assumes a primary role in the development of SAI sales within the territory by achieving all sales objectives and by maximizing the cigar market of our products while working within the guidelines set by corporate policy. The ‘La Aurora Family Reserve Fernando León Legacy Lancero’ is composed with an extra matured Corojo wrapper from the Cosecha 2008, the last special project developed by Don Fernando in the experimental plantation of Sabana del Puerto in Bonao, before his departure. The format and its wrapper reflect Don
Fernando’s long legacy as well as his virtues, which have made valuable contributions to the cigar culture of the Dominican Republic. The ‘Fernando León Legacy Lancero’ is a limited edition cigar that is available on the Dominican market in boxes of ten units. 2021 INTERNATIONAL CIGAR EXPO (CHENGDU) POSPOSICIÓN // WILL BE POSTPONED Teniendo en cuenta la situación actual de COVID 19 en China y en todo el mundo, la Exposición Internacional de Cigarros 2021 (Chengdu), que se celebraría en Chengdu China del 8 al 10 de noviembre de 2021, se pospondrá para cumplir con las regulaciones pertinentes sobre prevención de pandemias y control en el país.
Considering the current situation of COVID 19 in China and across the globe, the 2021 International Cigar Expo (Chengdu), which is due to be held in Chengdu China on November 8th - 10th 2021, will be postponed to comply with relevant regulations on pandemic prevention and control of the country.

TOBACCO EXPERT Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to develop and ensure implementation of the Tobacco Solutions Asia Limited’s (TSAL) unmanufactured tobacco fermentation and aging technology in China, supervising industrial fermentation, quality evaluation, developing the cigar portfolio and process in order to achieve the TSAL’s targets. The tobacco expert assumes a primary role in the development of TSAL industrial fermentation and aging technology within the territory by achieving all sales objectives and by maximizing the cigar production of our client’s while working within the guidelines set by corporate policy. Incumbent must be able to communicate in a timely, efficient, and effective manner and build relationships with our customer. This position is located in China
Minimum Qualifications
• Industrial fermentation and aging technology expertise: including the research on the cigar fermentation process and tobacco leaf aging technology. The establishment of cigar fermentation and aging technology system to optimize the aging technology of fermented cigar leaves. • Aging technology of cigar: carry out research on the dynamic changes of the main chemical components and sensory quality of finished cigar product in the aging medium, construct the key technology of cigar aging. • New medium for fermentation and aging: carry out research and development of new fermentation and aging medium which highlight the characteristics of cigars, and form the application of featured medium in the fermentation. • Quality evaluation: including the research on the appearance quality, physical characteristics, sensory quality, style characteristics and other evaluation system and evaluation application directions. • Propose the industrial demand of cigar raw materials in the agricultural link: cooperate with the related work of agricultural cultivation, curing, agricultural fermentation and other links. • BA degree is preferred. La Asociación Dominicana de Zonas Francas (ADOZONA), en coordinación con el Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Mipymes (MICM), con el apoyo especial del Consejo Nacional de Zonas Francas de Exportación (CNZFE), realizó el gran evento “Zonas Francas, Zonas de Oportunidades” (ZFZO) a propósito de la celebración del Día Nacional de las Zonas Francas, el cual estuvo encabezado por el presidente de República Dominicana, Luis Abinader, donde se demostró el posicionamiento de la República Dominicana como un modelo regional de este sector, con un crecimiento histórico en las exportaciones de 884 millones de dólares, equivalentes a un 32.2% en el primer semestre del año 2021, respecto al mismo período del 2020. El sector, que se ha convertido en uno de los principales motores de la recuperación económica y la generación de empleos, alcanzó, además un incremento de 21.0% en com-

paración con el mismo período de 2019, antes de la pandemia, conforme a los datos ofrecidos en el evento, en el que participó Gustavo González, presidente de la Asociación de Zonas Francas de las Américas (AZFA), con una charla magistral, quien calificó el régimen de zonas francas en la República Dominicana como un ejemplo de éxito para el mundo. Estos excelentes resultados, que reflejan el potencial alcanzado por las zonas francas con su diversificación, quedan evidenciados en el desempeño de distintos subsectores, entre ellos, el de tabaco y sus derivados, que exhibió un crecimiento extraordinario de 80.3%.
El presidente de ADOZONA, Luis José Bonilla Bojos, expresó que este crecimiento se debe a la estabilidad jurídica, al respeto de las condiciones de negocios del sector y en gran parte a la alianza público-privada, que en este Gobierno ha sido fundamental.

The Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA), in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, with the special support of the National Export Free Zone Council (CNZFE), held the great event “Free Zones, Zones of Opportunities” on the occasion of the National Day of Free Zones celebration, which was led by the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, where the positioning of the Dominican Republic as a regional model in this sector was demonstrated, with a historical growth in exports of 884 million dollars, equivalent to 32.2% in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020. The sector, which has become one of the main engines of economic recovery and job creation, also achieved an increase of 21.0% compared to the same period in 2019, before the
pandemic, according to the data provided in the event, in which Gustavo González, president of the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA), participated with a speech describing the free zone regime in the Dominican Republic as an example of success for the world. These excellent results, which reflect the potential reached by the free zones with their diversification, are evidenced in the performance of different subsectors, including tobacco and its derivatives, which exhibited an extraordinary growth of 80.3%. Para presentar formalmente la edición limitada del nuevo cigarro Fernando León Legacy Lancero, La Aurora realizó un acto de lanzamiento en sus instalaciones de la zona franca de Tamboril. El evento inició con un recorrido por la fábrica de cigarros más antigua de República Dominicana, a cargo de Juan -Tito- Ventura, quien presentó a los visitantes los procesos de manufactura de los cigarros premium, en un ameno ambiente de interacción. Tras el interesante recorrido, pasamos al área del Instituto, donde Guillermo León Herbert,
“LA HISTORIA DE DON FERNANDO ES UNO DE NUESTROS MÁS GRANDES LEGADOS” con unas emotivas palabras, habló de la historia detrás de este cigarro, dedicado a la productiva vida tabaquera de su padre, Don Fernando. La descripción y cata del cigarro, acompañado de un exquisito ron E. León Jimenes, estuvo a cargo del maestro Manuel Inoa, siendo el conductor de evento, Wascar Aracena.

To formally present the limited edition of the new Fernando León Legacy Lancero cigar, La Aurora held a launch event at its facilities in the Tamboril free zone. The event began with a tour to the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, led by Juan -Tito- Ventura, who introduced the visitors to the premium cigars manufacturing processes, in a pleasant atmosphere of interaction. ProDominicana, the Dominican Republic Consulate in New York and the Ministry of Agriculture jointly coordinated the celebration of the Dominican Taste Festival 2021, held July 24 and 25 in the Bronx, NY, where a large community of the diaspora and those interested in the products came together to enjoy gastronomy, fresh products and the offer of quality products; in addition to participating in business rounds between Dominican exporters and buyers from the United States. The different products and exporters participated in exhibitions and tastings, among them Premium cigars, in whose booth the printed magazine CIGARRO DOMINICANO was on display, which has been in the market for more than eight years, being the printed and digital magazine that represents and promotes our Country Brand product at an international level. The ProDominicana team undertook the design of the virtual stand and the exhibition assembly. “As a country we have prioritized exports and the promotion of our local producers as established by the National Export Promotion Plan, which implies not only the transformation of the export culture, but also working hand in hand with each national producer to place their products in international markets”, explained Biviana Riveiro, Executive Director of ProDominicana.

Pereyra afirmó que en las actuales circunstancias esa institución ha mantenido un fuerte respaldo a los principales sectores productivos, además de ser el principal brazo ejecutor de las políticas sociales dispuestas por el Gobierno, con acciones que han mitigado los efectos de la pandemia, contribuyendo a reactivar la economía, fortalecer la demanda y proteger las empresas. Describió el respaldo ofrecido y que seguirá dando Banreservas al turismo, zonas francas, construcción, Mipymes, sector agrícola, y otros sectores.

BANRESERVAS PARTICIPATED IN THE CONFERENCE OF THE MEXICAN DOMINICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INVESTMENT BANRESERVAS general administrator, Samuel Pereyra, analyzed the topic “Crisis and Recovery, the Forecast of State Banking”, when participating as a special guest of the Dominican-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Investment (CADOMMEX), in the conference broadcast by Live Streaming from Torre Banreservas, with the presence of executives from Mexican origin companies, accompanied by the institution senior executives; by Juan Amell, president of CADOMMEX; Tony Sánchez, director of that entity; Carlos Peñafiel, ambassador of Mexico in the country, among others.
Pereyra affirmed that in the current situation, BANRESERVAS has maintained strong support for the main productive sectors, in addition to being the main executing arm of the government’s social policy with actions that have mitigated the pandemic effects, helping to reactivate the economy, strengthen demand and protect businesses. He described the support offered and that Banreservas will continue to give to tourism, free trade zones, construction, MSMEs, the agricultural sector, and other sectors.
