En comunicación enviada por Oleg Dyatlov, Presidente y Gerente de Fábrica a nuestra redacción, la empresa anuncia “que el proceso legal de cambio de nombre en que nos encontrábamos, ha sido totalmente completado, de modo que, con efectividad al 11 de noviembre, somos Imperial Tobacco La Romana S.A.S. Como habíamos comunicado anteriormente, el pasado 02 de agosto, nuestra casa matriz, Imperial Brands PLC, formalizó la venta/

entrega de su división de Cigarros Hechos a Mano (Premium) a la empresa Grupo Tabacalera, que también adquirió el derecho de usar nuestro antiguo

nombre Tabacalera de García S.A.S.

Por tal motivo, nuestra fábrica, que ahora está enfocada exclusivamente en la producción de cigarros mecanizados, ha sido renombrada como Imperial Tobacco La Romana S.A.S. Esta transformación no afecta nuestra ubicación, pues continuaremos operando en las instalaciones del parque de zona franca de La Romana I en donde hemos estado siempre”.

communicated, on August 2, our parent company, Imperial Brands PLC, formalized the sale/ delivery of its Handcrafted Cigars division (Premium Cigars) to Grupo Tabacalera, which also acquired the right to use our old name Tabacalera de García S.A.S. For this reason, our factory, which

is now focused exclusively on the production of machine-made cigars, has been renamed Imperial Tobacco La Romana S.A.S. This transformation does not affect our location, as we will continue to operate in the La Romana I free zone park facilities where we have always been.”

Las instalaciones de la Casa de Bastidas, en la Ciudad Colonial de Santo Domingo, fue la locación elegida para celebrar la novena entrega del PROCIGAR NIGHT 2022, organizado por la Asociación de Productores de Cigarros de la República Dominicana, PROCIGAR, donde se encontraron los grandes productores de cigarros y los fumadores más apasionados para compartir y enaltecer la cultura tabacalera del país, al tiempo que degustaron los cigarros premium de la más alta calidad.

Esta edición del PROCIGAR Night, afianzada en nuestras raíces y antecesores, inspiró la decoración de un ambiente rústico que hacía juego con los humos y el código de vestimenta fresco de los invitados.

Las palabras de bienvenida estuvieron a cargo de Hendrik Kelner, presidente de PROCIGAR, quien reconoció la fidelidad del aficionado local del cigarro dominicano de vivir la experiencia de compartir con los socios fundadores de la entidad. Asimismo, en nombre de todos los socios de PROCIGAR agradeció el apoyo a los colaboradores y asistentes por acompañarlos y hacer posible esta tradicional celebración del cigarro dominicano. “Hoy en día, no solo producimos los mejores cigarros del mundo, sino que creamos un producto que cuenta la historia, tradición y cultura de nuestro país”, enfatizó Kelner. Además, con unas emotivas palabras, reconoció el arduo trabajo que hacen los artesanos, “Nuestros cigarros llevan impreso el resultado del trabajo de hombres y mujeres que se entregan con pasión para que cada uno tenga el sello de calidad Premium. Agradecemos en nombre de la institución la lealtad de quienes nos han acompañado en este trayecto desde el inicio y les aseguramos que seguiremos trabajando con el compromiso de continuar produciendo y promoviendo los mejores cigarros del mercado”. Entre las amenidades de la noche, se entregó una bolsa de bienvenida con obsequios de los distintos patrocinadores, se disfrutó de música en vivo y de una presentación de danza, al tiempo que los asistentes degustaban una fina selección de cigarros de los miembros de PROCIGAR.

CELEBRATES THE DOMINICAN TOBACCO CULTURE AND ITS ROOTS

The Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers, PROCIGAR, celebrated the ninth edition of PROCIGAR NIGHT at Casa de Bastidas, in the Santo Domingo Colonial Zone joining together cigar producers and the most passionate smokers to share and praise the country’s tobacco culture, while tasting the highest quality premium cigars.

This 2022 PROCIGAR Night Edition, focused in our roots and predecessors, inspired the decoration of a rustic environment that matched with the fresh dress code of the guests.

The welcome words were given by Hendrik Kelner, president of PROCIGAR, who recognized the loyalty of the local Dominican cigar fans for living the experience of sharing with the founding members of the entity. Likewise, on behalf

of all the PROCIGAR Members, he thanked the support of the collaborators and attendees for accompanying them and making this traditional celebration of the Dominican cigar possible.

“Today, we not only produce the best cigars in the world, but we create a product that tells the history, tradition and culture of our country,” Kelner emphasized. In addition, with an

emotional word, he recognized the hard work that the artisans do, “Our cigars are the result of the work of men and women who give themselves with passion so that each one has the seal of Premium quality. On behalf of the institution, we thank the loyalty of those who have accompanied us on this journey from the beginning and we assure them that we will continue working with the commitment to continue producing and promoting the best cigars on the market”.

Among the amenities of the night, a welcome bag with gifts from the different sponsors was delivered to the attendees, live music and a dance performance were enjoyed, while the smokers enjoyed a fine selection of cigars from the PROCIGAR members.

the brands they represented, in 2007.

Since 2017 the company has evolved to its current image, welcoming the different brands they now represent.
