WE WISH TO ACKNOWLEDGE that the land on which we gather is Treaty No. 6 territory and a traditional meeting ground and home of the First Nations, including both the treaty signatories – Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stony and CreeIroquois – as well as other Indigenous peoples, such as the Blackfoot and Métis, who occupied this land. We extend our appreciation for the opportunity to live, create, and perform on this territory. Where are your stories? From this simple yet profound prompt, we unleashed five teams to find their personal answer to that question. For the three of us, our stories are from here in the heart of Alberta (also known as Treaty 6), the memories, legends, tales, cells and atoms passed down to us from our ancestors and the many steps taken between the rolling hills of Ethiopia’s northern highlands to this territory. It’s important to acknowledge that all our stories come from

different places, as that is what makes storytelling so exciting. Thus, we have gathered a group of storytellers who are all from vastly different places with vastly different stories. We couldn’t think of a better way to return to live performance than with this group of artists. It has been five months since COVID-19 has flattened live performance all over the world, and a long and challenging wait for all of us who feed our spirits with live performance — audience members, creators, and performers alike. We hope these stories will give us all a piece of our spirits back.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US TODAY. WHEREVER THAT MAY BE, YOU ARE WELCOME.
