This course covers topics including human lifespan development, working in health and social care, and anatomy and physiology. You will enrol onto the one-year Certificate initially, then progress to the Extended Diploma for year two. This course also includes mandatory work placement of at least 100 hours per year. This course is for students who want to pursue a career working with children aged from birth to five years. Topics covered include children’s health and wellbeing, play and learning, and understanding a child’s additional needs. This course also includes a mandatory work placement of minimum 350 hours per year, and upon completion you will gain your licence to practice.

Health and Social Care Extended Diploma Level 2

This course is for students with an interest in the health and social care sector. You will cover a range of topics including health and social care values, human body systems, creative activities and healthy living. You will also study English and maths at the right level for you, and are required to undertake a minimum of 30 hours work placement.
This course teaches understanding of babies and children from birth to seven years old. You will learn health and safety, equality and diversity in early years, safeguarding and protection and how to support children’s development. This course also includes a minimum of 120 work placement hours, but we recommend that students undertake at least 200 hours.
