On this course you will gain an indepth understanding of travel and tourism and the global factors which affect the industry. You will learn the history and structure of the industry, factors which attract tourists to a destination, sustainable tourism and more, after which you could progress to university or into a career. This course explores the different operational areas of an airport including check-in, security and baggage processing, aircraft marshalling, arrivals services and dispatch. You will learn the practical and personal skills needed to work in these roles and be fully prepared for aviation assessment days, which are used in the industry to recruit staff. This course will teach you the knowledge and skills you need for a career as air cabin crew. You will learn the responsibilities of cabin crew, emergency procedures, aviation medicine and customer service and teamwork skills, as well as how to be successful in the airline recruitment process.

You will learn the roles and responsibilities of each service, and the values and behaviour expected of those working in them. There will also be opportunities to develop practical skills, such as expeditions on land and water and teamwork exercises.

Entry to Uniformed Public Services Diploma Level 2

One year, full-time

This entry-level course covers public service fitness, outdoor activities, health and safety and teamwork & leadership. You will also be supported to gain English and maths qualifications in order to progress to Uniformed Services Diploma Level 3 or employment.

Foundation and Community Learning

Our foundation programmes are designed to prepare students aged 16 to 18 for whatever their next steps may be. The courses focus on equipping students with subject-specific knowledge, and the skills and behaviours to help them be successful on their chosen journey.

Our 16-18 programmes follow the BTEC Introductory Level 1 curriculum. They focus on developing personal and work skills such as planning their time, developing communication skills and team working, to prepare the learners for a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
