STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

The Stormwater Management Coordinator is responsible for the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Permit (NPDES) regulations and Stormwater Management Plan as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). Part of the requirements entail performing public outreach and education sessions, public participation events, construction site runoff compliance, illicit discharge detection/elimination and a municipal pollution prevention and good housekeeping program. The coordinator addresses stormwater concerns from residents as well as drafts and implements policy/procedures to protect stormwater quality throughout the City. Additionally, the Stormwater Management Coordinator is tasked with inspecting more than 500 existing detention basins on a three-year rotation.
