Senior Aerobics
Dates: Ongoing Monday - Friday Age: 55+ Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Cost: Free with annual membership Join us at the East Suffolk or Whaleyville Recreation Center for 55+ program with assorted activities ranging from social, cultural, physical, Instructional, health & wellness, and various arts & crafts for active adults. There is a $5 annual membership fee. Limited transportation is provided by Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. Lunch is served daily for a $2 donation.
Date: January 4 - February 10 Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays Time: 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Location: East Suffolk Recreation Center Age: 50+ Cost: $12 for 6 weeks Calling all active adult seniors! This class focuses on floor aerobics which may help to increase your mobility, balance, strength, & flexibility! You can enjoy exercising at your own pace while socializing with others!
“Stay Strong” Senior Aerobics Date: February 14 - March 9 Days: Mondays and Wednesdays Time: 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Location: Whaleyville Recreation Center Age: 55+ Cost: FREE with Annual and Fitness Membership “Stay Strong” Senior Aerobics Class is an hour class for mature, active adults that targets not only muscular strength, muscular endurance, but also aids in improving cardiopulmonary and mental health. Please bring your personal face towel and a water bottle.
Sip and Paint Date: Tuesday, January 25 Location: Whaleyville Recreation Center Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Ages: 55+ Cost: $15 Enjoy a fun and trendy 2-hour paint class with a talented and friendly instructor. Paint, easels, and canvas are included with many varieties of mocktails and light hors d’oeuvres. Pre-registration is required. Registration begins December 27 - January 21, 2022.
Craft Club Date: Tuesday, March 17 Location: Whaleyville Recreation Center Time: 11:00AM - 1:00 PM Ages: 55+ Cost: $10 This program includes a friendly, professional instructor who will guide you through fun crafts while you also enjoy light refreshments, long-time friends, and neighbors in the community. Senior Prom Date: April 13 Location: Whaleyville Recreation Center Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Ages: 55+ Cost: $10 The theme for the Senior Prom is “Masquerade”, so feel free to go all out and show us what you’ve got! Pre-registration is required.
Active Adult Senior Walking Club Date: January 5 Days: Wednesdays Time: 10:00 AM -11:00 AM Location: East Suffolk Recreation Center Age: 55+ Cost: Free with annual membership Let’s get together and walk laps around different areas, trails, and paths here in Suffolk. You will be burning calories while talking about the good ol’ days!
