DUNKIN’ PLANS Percolating IN WESTERVILLE The South State Street corridor will get a jolt next year with the opening of a new Dunkin’ at 480 S. State St. To make way for the East Coast-based coffee chain, three buildings currently occupying the .80 acre site will be demolished in the coming weeks. These buildings include a Subway restaurant, the former site of Yogi’s Hoagies and a home built in 1929 that housed Keepsake Solutions, a video to digital conversion business until 2021. Keepsake Solutions is now located at 520 S. State St.

“The South State Street Corridor has long served as a vital entry point and hub of economic growth for Westerville because of its close proximity to I-270 and Cleveland Avenue,” said Economic Development Director Rachel Ray. “We’re excited to add another amenity for commuters looking to grab a quick bite before heading into work or running errands.” The City invested $30 million over the course of eight years to help bolster this commercial area, now anchored by the Aloft Hotel located at 32 Heatherdown Dr. Improvements included streetscape upgrades, moving overhead utilities underground, updating water and sewer lines, streamlining traffic flow and more. “We’ve continued to see a strong economic performance along South State Street. The infrastructural improvements paved the way for the growth we see today,” Ray said. Construction of the new restaurant is expected to begin in early spring 2022.

Veterans Memorial Groundbreaking
