On the top left, most members began the service insomnia at the Flowering Planting with the City of Riverside. After a few hours of service, members attended the Green Thumbs Fill Tums where members helped a local farm / garden (bottom left). As a neccessary break, some members went to Ten Rens to just relax and have some fun. The service insomnia was then wrapped up at Cirque du Service where members to create a variety of items to donate to communities in need within Riverside (top right)

February 23rd Service Insomnia Micheal Feng 3rd Year - Mechanical Engineering

Service Insomnia is a quarterly event where the club gets together and does service for a whole day to make as much of an impact as we can. For Winter Quarter Service Insomnia, we planted flowers with the City of Riverside, harvested broccoli with Green Thumbs Fill Tums, ate at Ten Ren’s, and finally rounded off the day with tabletop service at Cirque Du Service. We woke up bright and early to plant flowers with the City of Riverside. It was a lot of work but we planted over 300 flowers by the end of the project. Next, we headed off to Green Thumbs Fill Tums to harvest broccoli for food pantries. We also helped weed the farm. After a long day of service, we satisfied our hunger at the Ten Ren’s fundraiser. Finally, we gathered together for a night of tabletop service. We created no-sew blankets, baked cookies, created bookmarks, and made playdough. Although the day was very hectic and tiring, it really showed me how much of an impact we can make in a single day.

For almost a week, members helped organized goods and donations for families in need for the holiday season.

December 17th to 21th Isaiah’s Rock Hogun Lee rd 3 Year - Psychology

Hello Neighbor! Hello Friend! This is just a small verse of a lovely song we sing during Isaiah’s Rock. For this December service, we served disadvantaged families in the community who needed some support during the holidays. To summarize, Isaiah’s Rock is a week-long service where volunteers initially help bag items that were donated for families in need. These items include food, shampoo, water, among many other helpful things. After the bagging, everything is taken to a location where volunteers are needed again to help distribute everything to the families in need. Personally, I was only able to volunteer for one of the many bagging days, but I truly enjoy this service and come back to it yearly because it is one of those services where you really get to see the impact you have on the community in need. This is especially the case if you stay for the last day where all the items are distributed to the families. They truly do appreciate Isaiah’s Rock as well as all the volunteers and that just makes everything worth it for me.

February 14th Alex’s PYOS Quilt Making for the Homeless Celina Ngo th 4 Year - Biology

On a rainy Thursday, Alex Park from Circle K International at UC Riverside had his mind on a PYOS (Plan Your Own Service), which involved making quilts for the homeless! It was a two-hour service that we did on campus, so it was an easy and accessible service. As the weather has been getting colder recently, what better way to give back to our community but make our DIY quilts for those in need? Nathan Wong brought a lot of fabric for us to make quilts out of. At first, we were cutting them into squares, about 8x8 inches, until we realized that it would be too thin of a blanket if we did it that way. So, we decided to combine two fairly thick pieces of fabric together and “sewed” them together to make a huge blanket for the homeless. It worked a lot better and faster for us, so we decided to go with that tactic. That pretty much summed up our quilt making (though it became more of blankets later on) for the homeless!

January 18th Horchata & Cookies Social Brennan Cain nd 2 Year - Media and Cultural Studies

Girl scout mega drop is very fun event where you’re surrounded by a bunch of delicious cookies. You can look but not eat because they technically are not on sale. Its a great service for hours and helping you work with new people. It also is a great way to help with leadership skills if you get one of those positions. Its a long service but you get a very nice break in between for you to relax, eat, and cool down. Overall its a great service for everyone to go to. I had a great time and will do it again next time. There is much to be gained from going and little to lose, so there is no reason for anyone not to go.

During Girl Scout Mega Drop, members arranged and sorted thousands of Girl Scout cookies! Although the cookies are light individually, these boxes can get extremely heavy!

Every Weekend of Awesomeness Weekend, Circle K members from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and University of California, Riverside come together to spend a weekend filled with fellowship, service, and leadership!

January 18th Horchata & Cookies Social Brennan Cain 2nd Year - Media and Cultural Studies

For the end of Winter Welcome Week, Circle K at UCR had a Horchata and Cookies Social hosted by Spirit and Unity Chair, Maddie Villanueva. Along our sister Circle K club, UNLV, members were able to socialize and talk amongst themselves while enjoying a nice cup of horchata, and eating some delicious cookies. Members were also given the opportunity to participate in a few ice breakers such as a game of charades involving movies, as well as a bonding ice breaker, where everyone got to know each other on a deeper level. The event was meaningful because it allowed members to just relax, and enjoy themselves after coming back from winter break. It was great to just unwind from school, and socialize with great company.

January 16th Ice Skating Social Kimse Sok nd 2 Year - History

I attended the Ice Skating Social during Circle K’s Winter Quarter Welcome Week on January 16th. This was my second Ice Skating Social with Circle K and I had an amazing time! Since I am a very, very bad ice skater, my goals coming into this social was to not fall (too many times) and to make new friends. Before the social happened, we all gathered at A-I and were promptly shuttled to the skating rink. We then proceeded to purchase our tickets and shoe rentals, we all went out onto the ice. Throughout the time I spent ice skating, I was helped by my wonderful friends Amy Kobayashi and Albert Dang as they helped me to balance on the ice. It was also during this social that I got a chance to bond with our amazing secretary, THE Erica/Airwrecka Apostolos, by grabbing onto her hand desperately in order to not fall. I am extremely grateful to these three individuals, who took the time to stay by my side throughout the entire 2 hours, for trying to help me ice skate. With help, I managed to achieve my goals with falling only once and getting a chance make a new friend! Overall, if you want to be around awesome people while ice skating and or need some exercise for stress relief, then be sure to come out to the next Ice Skating Social!

14

For many members, Ice Skating was a horrifying prospect! Many members have little to no experience in ice skating and are prone to falling! Despite these fears, all members who attended the social had a fun and “ice-stastic experience overall!

January 30th Gus’ MOM Dinner Albert Dang nd 2 Year - Computer Science

For Alfonso’s MOM dinner, we went to Wang Cho’s Korean BBQ to eat. A lot more people came out than I expected and most of the group were actually new members, which was pretty cool. Since we were a pretty big group, they put us into two large tables, which each had three different grills. We ate brisket for most of it since it’s the fastest meat to cook, but we started ordering meats that took longer to cook like pork belly towards the end. I thought the basil garlic pork belly was really interesting since it tasted like eating pasta after we cooked it through, but I wouldn’t order it again though. The waiters were quick here and provided fast service, so we really never had any gaps between eating and cooking food. I would recommend that everyone should try to come out to a MOM dinner at least once as this one was extremely satisfying.

For every Member of the Month, the recipiant will get a free twenty dollar of their choosing! This time around, the MOM choose Raising Canes to enjoy and celebrate his award! MOM recipient can also choose to donate the $20 to a DFI of their choice! Raising Canes is one of the favorite go to socials/dinners Circle K at University of California, Riverside loves to attend! Raising Canes features well season fried chicken and a great atmosphere for members to enjoy and relax!

During Winter Info Night, members get a wonderful oppurtunity to present for the club. This is great oppurtunity for members to see what it’s like to be infront of large crowd and pratice their public speaking skills!

January 14th Winter Info Night Crisiel Bustos 2nd Year - English

Though I am not a part of board, Winter Info Night was a good experience for stepping into the shoes of someonewho wants to pursue leadership! Public speaking ties into communication skills that a leader should have and is another milestone for me to have reached since I also want to become a great leader. This has given me an insight of how people on board work, and how leaders work in general. I was given the opportunity to talk about the services that Circle K offers and how it ties into the three tenants of Circle K. I observed those who were on board to help better myself the next time I were to speak publicly to a crowd. Info Night even gave me information that I did not know before joining Circle K. I also met new people who now come out more often and it is nice seeing new people join (especially since I was generally new at that time too)!

Making a person feel special through MoM or Surprise spotlight are one of the ways individuals are recognized and thanked for their dedication to the club. Member Recognition allows individuals to feel rewarded instead of another number that boosts club statistics. Membership Recognition Program Recipiants got to celebrate their awards by getting an opportunity to hit a Peppa the Pig pinata.

rd

What is it like to be an officer at Circle K at UCR? It’s a great opportunity to bond with other officers and to be a part of something meaningful. There is quite a bit of work involved in terms of time management and organization. As an officer, I have the privilege to work behind the scenes and make the “magic” happen.

What is something that you feel accomplished during your term? The Member Recognition position has the unique role of rewarding members for their service to the club. This position makes the individual feel welcomed and appreciated in this club. With big clubs, it is easy to feel lonely and unacknowledged for one’s efforts.

18

Hilariously, it took over 40 members to break open the pianta!

I want to make everyone feel as if they matter because everyone has potential to make this club better. To environment for people to grow is to waste talent and undermine everyone’s abilities. One important event I host is MRP Palooza. This where we celebrate everyone’s achievement in earning MRP status. Planning this event is not too stressful unless you put it off HAHA. For me, it was very rewarding to see everyone enjoying themselves hitting Peppa the pig and eating food.

What is one thing that you wish you could have done? One thing I wish I could have done was to go to more events to really get to no more people in order to choose better candidates for different types of recognition. Another thing I wished I had done more was to advertise MRP more aggressively as I felt that I could have done a better job of doing that. I feel that if I had pushed more people to get MRP this term, more people would have earned at least the bronze level.

Spring Trainning Confrence: one of the first board photos for the 2018 to 2019 term leadership team!

If you could give yourself any advice about being officer to yourself when you first applied to be on the appointed board, what would you tell yourself? I would say that it is important to seek help whenever you are in doubt. It is so important to utilize your board because they are there for you. Another thing is to work on time management because school and club work will hit you hard if you aren’t paying attention. For me, I make a calendar of what I need to do and prioritize what is more important. At the same time, it’s important to take breaks every so often and know that everyone gets tired at some point. You don’t need to do everything on your own because you have people who care for your success and want to help! Kids Rock Benefit Concert Sports Day Fundrasier

President - Vanessa Kumnoonsate 4th Year Psychology

Hello Everyone! My name is Vanessa Kumnoonsate and I’m the President for the ‘18-’19 term! My main job as President is to oversee the club and make sure everything is running smoothly, while also engaging in events and interacting with the members of this club and all over the District! Being in this position, it’s definitely not an easy task because there are a lot of aspects of the club that you may not think about such as the planning and execution that goes into the events that you may attend and especially when problems arise, it can be hard to manage everything at once. What my main priority is as President is is to solve any disputes or issues that may come up and help out wherever I can to in order to make sure the events that happen in this club are successful so you all can relax and have fun at them! Some of my proudest achievements as an officer of this club is just being able to interact with members and getting positive feedback on the events that happen. Of course, I can’t take all of the credit because a lot of it is because of my chairs who work very hard to make these events happen, but when I do receive those compliments, it makes me proud of my club and the impact we have on our members and the community.

20

Vanessa first began his Circle K leadership as a family head during her second year. On her third year, she was appointed as the Spirit and Unity Chair for 2017-2018 term. For her final year, Vanessa was elected as president for the 2018 - 2019 term.

I truly appreciate everyone in this club and the work they put in to have it be what it is and my whole term as President, I tried my best to give back and support all the hard work that was put in. Moving forward, I wish good luck to the next set of leaders in the club, whether they’re on board, a family head, or a committee member! To all the members of the club, don’t be afraid to go for a position in the club because you’ll definitely learn a lot about yourself, but also don’t forget to have fun, I know I did!

Desert Oasis Lieutenant Governor - Mark Fernandez 4th Year Psychology

Hello everyone! My name is Mark Fernandez and it’s almost the end of the 2018-2019 term! Can you believe it? It is amazing to think that it was only about 11 months ago when I officially began my term as your lieutenant governor. Since then, it has truly been an honor meeting and getting to know so many of you beautiful cacti. Being a Lieutenant Governor means many things. Officially, my job is to be the link between our division’s members and the amazing Cal-Nev-Ha District. Next, I am responsible for making sure that the voices of our division are heard, whether it be through voting or constructive conversations. And lastly, I also am required to support our division in anyway possible so that our clubs and members can have the best Circle K experience possible. But aside from the official responsibilities, one of the things that I had so much fun doing was visiting our clubs throughout our division. It really did not matter if a club was 30 min or even 4 hours away. I wanted to visit our clubs as much during my term. All I wanted was to see all of you happy and I am glad to have been there with y’all for those laughs and smiles. There are so many things that I have done during my term as your LTG that it would honestly take too much space but I will end it off by saying this.

I have been part of Circle K for 5 years since I joined back in 2014. And ever since then, I had the honor of serving under many positions from club Kiwanis Family chair to Distinguished Club President. Since the beginning, I told myself that I would not run for a position I did not feel ready for. LTG was no exception. This past year was my first year on the District level and I can say confidently that my past positions gave me a stable foundation to lead this division. That opportunity would not have been possible without all of you giving me your support on that fateful day at DCON last year. On behalf of the Divisional Leadership Team, I would like to say thank you to all of you. Thank you for your support. Your patience. Our adventure together may be coming to a close, but I hope you enjoyed our time together. We love you all and we look forward to seeing you at DCON!

Sub Region B Trustee - Max Rico 4th Year Environmental Science

Since last July I have had the privilege of serving CKI as the Subregion B International Trustee. As trustee I represent the California-Nevada-Hawai’i, Southwest, and Rocky Mountain districts on our organization’s international board. My duties range from being a liaison between districts and international, to increasing members’ knowledge of CKI at the international level, to amending international operating procedures with the board, to planning international events, to serving on an international committee, to meeting and checking up with district governors. Another cool responsibility is traveling to districts’ events; I’m actually writing this out on a plane heading back from Southwest DCON on Albuquerque! International has been a wild ride, but I’ve loved every second of it. I have loved learning about how international and other districts operate, and how we can work together for the betterment of our organization. The best part for me is hands-down the people. Meeting CKI members from across districts and the world has been a joy and I hope that you all can experience it too. You can actually do this at International Convention this June at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida! You can check out the information at circlek.org/ckix, attend, and experience the magic of international as well!

22

As one of the most profilic members of Circle K at University of California, Riverside; Max Rico represents a multitude of schools and states in Circle International. He began his leadership as the 2016-2017 Newsletter Chair. Afterwards, he would become the LtG of Desert Oasis from 2017 - 2018 and conclude his Circle K journey as the International Trustee for Subregion B and as the Sunburst Newsletter Chair for the District.

District Kiwanis Family and Foundations Chair - Calvin Chau 4th Year Biochemistry

Calvin Chau first debuted in Circle K at University of California, Riverside as a Kiwanis Relations Chair in 2016 - 2017. Calvin would later be elected as the 2017 - 2018 President. With his board would bring great success to the club!

From 2018 to 2019, Calvin would continue his leadership within Circle K as the District Kiwanis Family & Foundations chair!

As the District Kiwanis Family & Foundation Chair, I’m in charge of maintaining Kiwanis Family Relations within the District by promoting and educating our members about the different branches. Also, I am in charge of all the Kiwanis Family Chairs and helping them build relations with their Kiwanis Family Clubs with the help of my KFF Committee. District Board has been an amazing experience for me as I got to meet and bond with people all across the District. The opportunity to help grow the District and support such large scale events such as District Convention while also expanding my experiences also contributes to my love for CKI. I would definitely encourage anyone interested to pursue District Board or apply as a District Chair and take the opportunity to learn more through Candidates’ Education Session!

Each Kids Rock Benefit Concert, a variety of talents preform to help raise money for Pediatric Tramua Prevention. This year, we managed to have Collective Faction, a University of California, Riverside dance group to preform! Every Kids Rock Benefit Concert is headlined by a celebrity artist. This Kids Rock Benefit Concert, Aj Rafeal headlined K Rock! Aj Rafeal enchanted the crowd with a variety of Disney melodies and serenading his long term girlfriend! For many, it was a spectacular night where many members got to relive some of the music they grew up to!

In addition to the many wonderful acts, the Executive Board preforms a dance number every year to help raise money! This year, they dance to a variety of western and Korean Pop Music such as Twice!

The 11th Annual Kids Rock Concert was a spectacular vent in which Circle K members and Kiwanis members all gather in order to enjoy the musical performers, delicious food and fun activities. It was hosted at the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, California on the evening of January 19, 2019. There were many amazing performers such as Collective Faction, Jasmine Clarke and AJ Rafael to name a few. There were several fun activities to partake in between performances such as the water bottle game and the scrabble game. We also had other activities such as the silent auction. Lastly, there was a wide variety of food being sold there such as Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches, horchata and boba. Personally, I enjoyed it a lot and I was so happy to be able to spend time with my fellow CKI members. My favorite part of the event was being able to see AJ Rafael perform live and being able to enjoy that moment with everyone else in the crowd. It was fun being able to go through and experience all of that. Overall, I highly recommend for you to come out to this event next year because it will sure be amazing!

Many members contribute to the Kids Rock Benefit Concert in a variety ways! From serving food to manning booths, Circle K members from UCR are at the forefront of service and fundrasing at K-Rock!

Samantha Ratanavipupong 4th Year - Sociology

On January 19, 2019, we had one of our biggest events of the year which was Kids Rock Benefit Concert, also known as K-Rock! This event was chaired by our K-Rock chair Kaylie Truong who has planned the event since the beginning of her term in April. All of the profits that were made were given to the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) which helps prevent traumatic injury for children. This year’s theme for K-Rock was Secret Garden, so there were many beautiful origami decorations of flowers and garden themed games. There were also food and drinks from many of our sponsors such as 7 Leaves, Chick-fil-a, and Fantastic Donuts. The line up this year included amazing performers such as Eliza Twinkies, Jasmine Clarke, and our headliner, AJ Rafael. K-Rock is a great event to meet Circle K members from other divisions and to raise money for an important DFI. If you get a chance in the future, go to K-Rock! #gotokrock2020

27

Describe the process of what it is like to organize this event!

Kaylie Truong 2nd Year - Bioengineering

As the Kids Rock Benefit Concert Chair, how was your experience organizing and planning the largest Pediatric Trauma Program fundraiser in the District? Overall, I had a great time! There were some times where it was a struggle getting everything done, but in the end it was all worth it. Seeing everything that I, my subcommittee, and everyone else who helped out had done come together in the end was a wonderful experience. It was a lot of hard work, but as I was going through my term I noticed that I was changing into a more confident person and I was getting better at talking to others. It was really cool!

28

I first had to get the event approved! No approval means no one can go! It’s a pretty simple step but it’s also one of the most important. I also had to make sure the event was sufficiently funded by organizing fundraisers like Sports Days, TV Tapings, and more. This was so the profits made from K-Rock itself would be maximized. I also had to look for performers to entertain the crowds and a headliner that would attract more attendees. This year AJ Rafael agreed to come and it was awesome seeing him perform! Of course I had help organizing from my subcommittee. Without them, a lot of things wouldn’t have gotten done. What were some of the biggest challenges you encountered as the Kids Rock Benefit Concert Chair? One of the biggest challenges being K-Rock chair was being timely. I consider myself someone who is pretty good at time management, but not everyone is like that. Sometimes performers, sponsors, and others would have last minute requests or turn in documents last minute. It would get a little stressful if there was a deadline, but strangely enough the adrenaline was addicting. I came to realize that those kinds of situations will always happen in life so it was good that I got to learn how to handle it. Sometimes you have to be assertive and push for things to get what you want.

What do you think were the highlights during the Kids Rock Benefit Concert? The performances are an obvious one because seeing so much talent on one stage is exciting! Every performance is enjoyable and it’s even cooler when you were the one who chose those performers. The games made by this year’s Game Chair Amy Kobayashi were also very fun and creative! K-Rock also wouldn’t be as great if the venue wasn’t decorated by Decorations Chair June Park. Everything looked great! My favorite decoration were the vines at the doorway. This year we were also lucky to get donations from Seven Leaves and Fantastic Donuts, so we had cute drinks and custom made donuts to consume.

K Rock required hundreds of hours to organize and pull through! In fact, some portions of the event have to organized a year in advanced to push through! However, thanks to Kaylie and her K Rock commitee members, Kaylie provided Circle K at UCR one heck of a K Rock

Lastly, what tips and advice you would have for your successor for the 2019 2020 term? You got this! Even if things seem stressful, in the end it will all work out. You’ll have me and everyone around you to help out. K-Rock is a unique and amazing position; in the end, you’ll be glad you did it. Never be afraid to put yourself out there because it’ll only help you, not hurt you. GOOD LUCK!

Along with the many other fundrasiers and workdays related to K Rock, K Rock sports day is another important asset to K Rock that helps raise money for some of the concert’s expenditures!

January WAW is one of the most important weekends for Circle K at University of California, Riverside. During January WAW, CKI at UCR will opens its doors for the largest Pediatric Tramua Program fundrasier, The Kids Rock Benefit Concert! Clubs throughout California, Nevada, and Hawaii come to help support! However, it doesn’t stop there! January WAW offers a variety of events such as serving at a farm or learn more at a leadership workshop!

January WAW was a great experience! So many people had a great time attending the service at Mr. Joe’s farm and the workshops that were on Sunday! However, of all the great experiences at WAW, the Kids Rock Benefit Concert was my best experience. K-Rock was an amazing service event that I am glad I attended. It was fun helping out with set up until clean up. The games were also really fun since my friends and I would fail then we would continue trying until we finally “won.” Chick-Fil-A made up for our lost pride as we enjoyed our lovely sandwiches along with boba. Volunteering at the games were very interesting while I volunteered at the glow in the dark bowling. Many people would come back over and over again to beat the game even though they couldn’t knock down all of the “pins.” Despite all the fun I had, my favorite part of the night was actually winning from a raffle for once after various attempts at the large range of prizes. AJ Rafael’s performance was also very entertaining I enjoyed the comedy aspects of his performance along with his voice. Music, food, games and prizes; how can you go wrong with this combination? Overall, 10 out of 10 would recommend others to experience this single night of wonder.

January 16th Ice Skating Social Kimse Sok 2nd Year - History

On February 7 to 9, 2019, 18 of our members ventured to Las Vegas for WAW, otherwise known as Weekend of Awesomeness Weekend. This is a monthly event that occurs where one of the schools crosses state borders to visit the other and have a weekend filled with service, leadership, and fellowship. This weekend was special because UNLV held their largest fundraiser, Serenade. This is where the male members of organization sang an exhibition song and members bid on them to get serenaded on stage. Then the winners are serenade to.

University of Las Vegas hosts Serenade where members can sing for other members! Many from our own club will sing to their close friends or even significant others!

Love is in the air!

We were able to make Pediatric Trauma Program Dolls that were given to the Loma Linda Hospital for service. Then, we participated in a variety of team building games that had us work together in subgroups to solve problems and riddles in order for us to pass. These games pit two teams against each other for fastest times! For example, we had to lead one “blind” member through a maze only talking one at a time and not being able to physically touch them. My team wasn’t able to win, but we did bond over our fun experience! I hope the next time we have Kiwanis Family events everyone can attend and we can all have fun together!

February 24th Key to Life Daniel Wahyu nd 2 Year - Computer Science

On Sunday, February 24th 2019, Circle K at UC Riverside held our annual Key to Life. Designed as an event geared towards educating attendees about adult life ranging from post-graduate options to creating a healthy lifestyle, the event was held on campus at Winston Chung Hall and saw attendees from not just Circle K but the local Kiwanis Club of Riverside and Division 36 West Key Club. At the event, various alumni and members gave workshops in their areas of expertise and shared experiences. Additionally, members were able to directly interact with the workshop hosts during a Career Panel, where the hosts were able to play off each other and shed light on theirs points of view stemming from a variety of backgrounds. There was even an opportunity to win past club t-shirts; attendees would receive tickets for participating that could be entered in a raffle. Altogether, Key to Life was both a fun and insightful event that I would recommend to anyone thinking of going in future years!

Fun games with Circle K and Key Club!

Though most of what I do is behind the scenes, I was able to see the growth in our membership count and DFI funds raised. Just witnessing that made me truly proud of what our members are able to do for our club. To my successor, prepare to get your files konmari-ed and replaced with spreadsheets, cause it's gonna be one heck of a ride.

I enjoyed planning services for all you members to enjoy. To my successor, I hope you find joy and calm in the storm and are still able to have fun while planning and making service happy. Good luck out there!

During my term I really enjoyed seeing new members join after talking to them from tabling. It feels rewarding to know that my work has paid off! I also enjoyed working on a team with everyone from board. With all their unique personalities, no where is quite the same.

During my term as a Service Initiative Chair, I enjoyed seeing members taking initiative to be the speaker for the DSI fun fact. In addition, I’m always happy to see people coming out to service especially when board members work really hard to make services happen. To future successor, I hope you enjoy your term even though there might be ups and downs.

To my successor, congrats on filling this huge responsibility! You have a long road ahead of you but I'm sure you'll get through it! If you ever need any advice, you can always talk to me and I'll be more than happy to help you out. The part that I enjoyed the most about this term was getting to be able to go to all the events and have the opportunity to share a lot of these memories with everyone!

I really enjoyed being Secretary this year. I always enjoy talking to new members when they come into meetings and being able to work with our board. I am so grateful for everyone on board. I can't wait to see what my successor has in store for the club!

My favorite moment that I enjoyed during my term was creating the 2018 Fall Training Conference Skit! It was my biggest project and it a lot of time and effort but it was all worth it in the end. Working together with my subcommittee chairs and getting ideas from the members of the club to create a skit was amazing, especially being able to see all your hard work pay off after performing at FTC. My hope for my successor is that they enjoy their term. I know how great the feeling is of being able to spread fellowship within the club and I hope for them to experience that same feeling as well.

Hello! My name is Marisa and I’m your Web-tech! My experience this term hasn’t been easy - burnout is real, ya’ll. However, I can confidently say I enjoyed my time being on board with some very interesting people. I’m thankful for the bonds I’ve formed with them and everything we’ve worked through together. It’s definitely been a valuable experience; I can’t wait to see what my successor can do!

I really enjoyed setting up restaurant fundraisers and seeing everyone socialize along with helping out a good cause. Though I was able to take up new fundraising ideas, there are many more fundraisers that I would like my successor to accomplish, such as spicy food challenges or any type of food challenges, and even game tournaments! I hope for my upcoming successor to fulfill the dream I was unable to do. Best of luck to you!

Getting the opportunity to work on board has been an amazing experience and I've enjoyed getting to work with everyone and getting to know all of them as time went by. I hope that my successor has the same kind of positive experience that I did and can enjoy the work they do for the club and for themselves.

I want to say that my favorite part of this term was working with everyone else on board! Everyone has such different personalitities and it’s nice to see all of us come together to achieve one greater goal, doing things for the members. I also liked learning how to plan different of events and seeing the project in action. I really hope that my successor has fun during his or her term!! It’s a process of trial and error, learning what works and what doesn’t in terms of advertising and planning but overall it’s really rewarding!

o work on board has been and I've enjoyed getting to getting to know all of them that my successor has the perience that I did and can do for the club and for selves.

I had a great time as Kids Rock Benefit Concert Chair! K-Rock was my baby for nine months and the feeling of seeing it executed can never be replicated in the future. I hope that my successor will also grow as much as I did during the position and plan another great K-Rock for 2020!

This term was a roller coaster! I'm grateful I got to know our sponsoring Kiwanis club a lot better! To my successor(s), I'd say go in with an open mind. The Kiwanis family, both young and old have so many opportunities so make the most of them. :D

Member Recognition Chair

Newsletter Chair

I enjoyed recognizing people through Surprise Spotlight, Member of the Month, and Member of CKI because everyone feels welcome in the club. I love seeing everyone's faces during general meetings because everyone feels welcome here. My favorite part of being the Member Recognition Chair is the MRP Palooza back in Spring because it was really fun planning as well as watching everyone come up for their MRP certificate. For my successor, I hope that he/she is able to push MRP to members and get them to achieve MRP.

As the Newsletter Chair, it was amazing to write, record, and publish everyone’s experiences within the newsletter. Athough it was painsteakingly difficult to design every graphical asset of the newsletter, I would love to do it all over again. To my successor, its difficult to be on board. Do not be afraid to ever let yourself be vulnerable and always ask for help. The completion of a newsletter is a daunting feat to complete that no one should ever feel alone doing so.

Amy Kobayashi 2nd Year - Linguistics

For the Newsletter, I would to personally recognize Amy Kobayashi as at outstanding member in Circle K! As a second year, she has wrote many newsletter articles throughout the term and has been actively engaged in many projects and services! Furthermore, Amy has demonstrated herself as a capeable leader! In just her second year, Amy served as a Divisional Officer, K Rock subcommittee chair, and now a member of the Executive Board. Despite these accomplishments, Amy is a wonderful and sweet hearted member that everyone can always rely on. Amy Kobayashi is one of the examples that all of Circle K should strive to become.
