As part of their Covid-19 response, UN-Habitat developed an interactive project map which has been key in initiating a call for action and has laid the foundation to build a resilient post Covid-19 recovery strategy. As of 04th October 2020, there were more than 36,576 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections, 642 fatalities and 23,611 recoveries in Kenya. According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), Mombasa and Nairobi are currently the most affected counties, with West Pokot being the least impacted, with only one case reported.

In a bid to restore the lost forests, the company in collaboration with local communities is using tree seeds coated with waste charcoal dust to naturally regenerate forests. Human encroachment into natural forests has been the biggest threat to biodiversity balance.

Supporting remote learning in Korogocho
Ensuring the safety of pregnant Affordable clean energy for mothers low income families
As schools remain shut and learning has been shifted online. Learners from low income families are disadvantaged due to lack of resources. ACAKORO, a community based organizations has partnered with UNICEF to ensure vulnerable children in Korogocho are able to access online education material.
As the covid-19 pandemic has made acess to maternal healthcare difficult. expectant women can now breathe a sigh of relief as they are able to access free emergency transport to hospitals during curfew hours, thanks to the Wheels for Life project. The initiative has significantly reduced maternal morbidity and mortality.
Reliance on dirty fuel has consequences on both the ecology and human health. Bright Green Initiative have countered the situation by taking one problem to solve the other,the organization is collecting urban and plant waste and turning it into clean affordable charcoal briqquetes before distributing it to communities .
