Feeding the Future Its a new year and schools have just reopened after a long time. Pupils have been away from class for almost a year as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic. As they resume, food for education plans to continue providing thousands of the school going children with low cost and nutritious food. The initiative helps the pupils stay healthy and keeps them in school. The organization has reiterated its commitment to secure the children’s future by providing over 5 million meals.

Urban Farming in Kibera Urban farming is considered to be a great catalyst in addressing food scarcity and improving nutrition. Kilimo Jijini, a social enterprise, is engaging and equipping residents of Kibera Slums with the skills needed to venture into urban farming. With support from the MasterCard Foundation, the organization has been able to train youths on best urban farming practices as well as providing them with the necessary tools start and grow collective community farms.

Safari Doctors: Transforming Lamu communities Accessing healthcare has always been a challenge for remote villages in the coastal region. However, an initiative by Safari Doctors is changing that by bringing health services closer to the people living in remote areas of Lamu County. Through an innovative mobile health service, the organization conducts clinics that provide medical care to more than 2000 people across 24 remotes villages monthly.

Ace Africa boosting nutrition in Siaya schools
An initiative by the Food and Agriculture Society (FAO) is improving livelihoods of farmers across eight counties like Meru with an innovative conservation program. The organization trains the farmers in conservation agriculture by equipping them with good farming practices which has enabled the communities increase their farm harvests and production.
Hear the World Foundation is working together with Kijabe Mission Hospital to provide care for children with hearing impairments. Apart from the financial support, the foundation is providing diagnostic equipment, hearing aids and supporting further training of clinicians which will go a long way in guaranteeing proper care and treatment.
Ace Africa Kenya is transforming communities in Siaya county by improving sustainable livelihoods and nutrition supporting many families and schools. They have set up kitchen gardens and planted fruit tress ,while educating teachers and students on fruit tree management and nutrition which has positively impacted on their wellbeing.
