Generating income through butterfly farming
Reducing post-harvest loses in Kilifi
Excluded and poor communities have been able to access much needed healthcare services such as vaccinations, HIV testing and family planning through the Community Health Africa Trust (CHAT) initiative. The program provides holistic family planning services that promotes healthy communities.
The Kipepeo butterfly project integrated into the Arabuko Sukoke forest in Kilifi, has enabled the local community especially single women with children, to generate income through butterfly farming,this has been significant in conserving the mangrove forests reducing bio diversity loss.
Fish farmers in Kilifi have a reason to smile as an off grid efficient solar powered storage facility has been established. The facility will be key in promoting sustainable fisheries and economic development by cutting down the losses brough about due to lack of proper storage facilities in the past.
